Fungi

When these purple fungi come up. they start as a very tight cup and then open out to this amazing shade. They have a gooey coating!

When I was school age (in Yorkshire), I developed considerable knowledge about toadstools and would concern people by cooking and eating them. In UK there was taboo on all toadstools except 'mushrooms' (althoughy people ate Boletus edulis in commercial mushroom soups without realising it). The reason this one looks 'dangerous' is from its colour. It resembles Amanita - deathcaps - deadly. It may not be an Amanita - I would need to look it up. Amanita muscari is the traditional fairyland toadstool (red & white). Rather ppoisonous and pyychogenic (hallucinatory)
