Well nothing of any interest has happened to me this week, I spent the morning paying all the household bills - what joy - and this afternoon doing the grocery shopping. My life is so exciting.

Has everybody seen the Easy page yesterday or today? Karen (Texas) is having baby #3. So exciting, I love a Sudoku baby.
She doesn't want it mentioned on FB yet, though.

Just googled a spiral scarf - yep, now I know what they are.

Buddy enjoyed the soaking. It's a cold night (light flurries occasionally)so I heated up a bucket of water to a little above body temp and added the epsom salts. I then told him to pick his foot up and I placed a tub with the mixture under his foot. I then helped him guide it down. He quickly pulled it out, but I said "It's OK, Buddy. Put the foot back in" and he did. He let it soak without moving for 10 minutes. He's such a good boy. I really wish IH minded as well. At least everybody in the neighborhood knows that Buddy is smarter than IH.

I have bought some wool, multi coloured in purple/ blues, so I can knit the Spiral Scarf.

SydneySiders my #1 boy just arrived in your fair city. He is there, for work, with his boss, attending a Award Presentation Dinner this eve, talking to some Microsoft People in the morning, before heading home in the afternoon tomorrow.

Slept in again. The back is really bothering me these days. Yes, I DO understand, MizT! My next epidural isn't until the 13th, so I'll just have to grin and bear it.

Just a quick note, the procedure is apprived. Pain Management can get me in at 2:15 next Wednesday (doc is only at this location one day a week, Wednesday) Only problem is, I must have nothing to eat or drink all day! Seven hours, so I will be sure to get up and eat at 6:30, then hopefully go back to sleep! My sister will come to drive me, and my BIL will come to stay with AL, so we have it covered.

Robert is having fun right now. I just bought a power washer to make it much easier to clean trailers, tractors and trucks. Right now he's cleaning out the horse and cattle trailer.

Good news, MizT. Wednesdays are the days that my Pain Management Doc is in the area, too.

I ran in to the local Dollar store last night for some emergency supplies, and out of the corner of my eye I spotted a strange clearance sale. Outerwear, but at a laughable price. I bought an insulated vest for $2. My size, even.

Happy April Fools Day

Theresa, sorry I thought it was Brenda who asked but I've posted it on your page.

The big day has arrived and the apprentice is now a tradie. Woo Hoo! I'll leave work early today to collect the cake. The food has been bought and pizza will be ordered later. I just need to send someone to buy the beer and ice and we're ready.
I've decided to bring Reggie upstairs with us tonight and have everyone come in and out through the sliding door at the front of the house. At least that way there is a door with a door knob he can't open between him and "freedom". He can sit on the verandah and watch them all arrive and "help" me in the kitchen.

Gail, that sounds like the sorts of things they do on the radio here. I didn't actually hear anything like that this morning.

Our AM radio station always does extremely well on April Fools day, but I forgot what day it is and forgot to listen today. The FM radio one was that they are going to cancel the carbon tax and replace it with the requirement that everyone install a mini carbon capture plant in their back yard.

I'm still waiting to hear if, as seems likely, the Nessie-like sightings in Sydney Harbour were an April fools joke.

Good morning and happy April Fools Day - I'm the fool because I didn't even remember until I read this page!! And I haven't had the radio on. I put the Eagle site up, which meant I didn't put the radio site up as well (I listen live through the pooter). Then I had to close the eagle site down because I was glued to it and getting nothing done!

The heavens have opened here - it's torrential at the moment. I was going out, not locally, and it required driving through hilly single-lane roads that are frequented by gravel trucks, as most of my forays into the outside world from here are. Decided it can wait until Monday. Trucks, hills and wet roads are not a good combination.

Vicki - congrats to your boy on becoming a tradie!! Hope the party goes well tonight. Glad you worked out a solution for what to do with Reggie!!

I listen to the radio thru' the pooter too, CynB. I like Antioch. That's old time radio shows. Right now I'm listening to an episode of The Shadow. Before that it was The Burns And Allen Show ("Say goodnight, Gracie." "Goodnight Gracie".) Before that was You Bet Your Life with Groucho Marx .

Heidi - we use to get the televised version of 'You Bet Your Life' when TV first started here in the 50's. It was old then. Loved it though. And Burns and Allen, I love Lucy, Maverick, 77 Sunset Strip - ahh those were the days, my friend!

Gail, thanks for sharing the April Fool joke. Unfortunately, there are predications for a major snowfall tomorrow (our April Fool's Day) in the northeastern states. We were just remembering the April Fool's Day blizzard in Chicago about 30 years ago. We had taken our 2 preschoolers to the natural history museum in Chicago, not knowing anything was predicted. It took us almost 8 hours to get from Chicago to the suburb where we lived (usually not much more than an hour drive normally during rush hour.) All we had for the kids to eat was some animal crackers. We didn't have any beverage, because we had brought our lunches to eat at the museum.

Suzy, unfortunately some teachers are stupid and some don't think before they do something stupid. My guess is that the teacher was young and inexperienced, but I don't know that for sure.

Cyn, the number of viewers at the eagle site has really jumped! The date suggested for the possible hatching is April 1, which is hopefully not an April Fool's joke. It's tomorrow for us, though. (I know there were still 3 eggs in the nest this afternoon when I peeked in and Mama was rearranging them.

I used to listen to many of the old-time radio programs, but don't know a station that currently carries them in our area. Brings back good memories, though!

Cyn, I made Alie's eyes go very wide (for a second until she regained her teenage cool) when I told her there was no TV when her Nana was little..

Suzy - don't be silly! Don't you know that tradies never use their own trades at home! My hubby is a mechanic - never touches a car. My sonIL is a builder, their house, which is pre WWII has had renovation plans approved by council for years yet he hasn't done a thing.

Tradies using their skills on the home front sounds like the story of the doctor's kids who are always sick or the shoemaker's kids who have no shoes.

Nevertheless, I hope the party for the tradie is a huge success!

Cyn, my hubby is a designer and he designs all the time. I've lost count of the number of different houses he's designed for us! Some of which have the floor area of a mansion... I've told him the only way I'd ever want a house that big was if it came with a cleaner.
