Now I get what a spiral scarf is, my sister knits those with fluffy wool and ribbon through it too. They look great.

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the day, saying, “I will try again tomorrow”.

Good afternoon all - missed you again Julie.
I like that inspirational thought, Gail. So true.
Well nothing of any interest has happened to me this week, I spent the morning paying all the household bills - what joy - and this afternoon doing the grocery shopping. My life is so exciting.

Has everybody seen the Easy page yesterday or today? Karen (Texas) is having baby #3. So exciting, I love a Sudoku baby.
She doesn't want it mentioned on FB yet, though.

It appears that there are lots of different types of spiral scarfs around. If you go to this link, this is the scarf I'm knitting

Buddy enjoyed the soaking. It's a cold night (light flurries occasionally)so I heated up a bucket of water to a little above body temp and added the epsom salts. I then told him to pick his foot up and I placed a tub with the mixture under his foot. I then helped him guide it down. He quickly pulled it out, but I said "It's OK, Buddy. Put the foot back in" and he did. He let it soak without moving for 10 minutes. He's such a good boy. I really wish IH minded as well. At least everybody in the neighborhood knows that Buddy is smarter than IH.

SydneySiders my #1 boy just arrived in your fair city. He is there, for work, with his boss, attending a Award Presentation Dinner this eve, talking to some Microsoft People in the morning, before heading home in the afternoon tomorrow.

Morning all.
Victoria, the spiral scarf is nice. Please post a picture of the one you make. Someday I will learn to knit. I know the basics of crocheting but I am not that good, yet.
Cyn, post a picture of yours also. The colors sound pretty.
Heidi, I am glad that Buddy is being good and letting you treat him. We also know that Buddy is smarter than IH.

Victoria, it was me who was asking about the spiral scarf. I will have to check out the link when I get a chance. Thanks.

Heidi, some animals just seem to know when you're helping them!

Hope to come back later. Busy day ahead. Take care everyone.

Slept in again. The back is really bothering me these days. Yes, I DO understand, MizT! My next epidural isn't until the 13th, so I'll just have to grin and bear it.

Just a quick note, the procedure is apprived. Pain Management can get me in at 2:15 next Wednesday (doc is only at this location one day a week, Wednesday) Only problem is, I must have nothing to eat or drink all day! Seven hours, so I will be sure to get up and eat at 6:30, then hopefully go back to sleep! My sister will come to drive me, and my BIL will come to stay with AL, so we have it covered.
busy morning, BIL came for a visit, so now I am thinking a nap, by gosh, I deserve it,

Huge hugs to all with extras.

I ran in to the local Dollar store last night for some emergency supplies, and out of the corner of my eye I spotted a strange clearance sale. Outerwear, but at a laughable price. I bought an insulated vest for $2. My size, even.

Some teachers are really dumb! Could do with some of that coffee.

Rolanda, your boy has become quite the traveller hasn't he? Shame he didn't need a chaperone ;)

MizT, glad the procedure is finally approved! Only a few more days... hugs Hope Al is continuing to improve.

Heidi, hope your back holds out until the 13th..

Hi all!
Theresa, sorry I thought it was Brenda who asked but I've posted it on your page.

The big day has arrived and the apprentice is now a tradie. Woo Hoo! I'll leave work early today to collect the cake. The food has been bought and pizza will be ordered later. I just need to send someone to buy the beer and ice and we're ready.
I've decided to bring Reggie upstairs with us tonight and have everyone come in and out through the sliding door at the front of the house. At least that way there is a door with a door knob he can't open between him and "freedom". He can sit on the verandah and watch them all arrive and "help" me in the kitchen.

Our AM radio station always does extremely well on April Fools day, but I forgot what day it is and forgot to listen today. The FM radio one was that they are going to cancel the carbon tax and replace it with the requirement that everyone install a mini carbon capture plant in their back yard.

I'm still waiting to hear if, as seems likely, the Nessie-like sightings in Sydney Harbour were an April fools joke.

Hi all. Happy April Fool's Day. I am trying to think of something good to do to my kids tomorrow but I am brain dead. I am sure I will think of something tomorrow.
Glad to hear that all is going well. I have read the posts but don't remember most of what I have read. I will be back in the morning.

Good morning and happy April Fools Day - I'm the fool because I didn't even remember until I read this page!! And I haven't had the radio on. I put the Eagle site up, which meant I didn't put the radio site up as well (I listen live through the pooter). Then I had to close the eagle site down because I was glued to it and getting nothing done!

The heavens have opened here - it's torrential at the moment. I was going out, not locally, and it required driving through hilly single-lane roads that are frequented by gravel trucks, as most of my forays into the outside world from here are. Decided it can wait until Monday. Trucks, hills and wet roads are not a good combination.

I listen to the radio thru' the pooter too, CynB. I like Antioch. That's old time radio shows. Right now I'm listening to an episode of The Shadow. Before that it was The Burns And Allen Show ("Say goodnight, Gracie." "Goodnight Gracie".) Before that was You Bet Your Life with Groucho Marx .

Heidi - we use to get the televised version of 'You Bet Your Life' when TV first started here in the 50's. It was old then. Loved it though. And Burns and Allen, I love Lucy, Maverick, 77 Sunset Strip - ahh those were the days, my friend!

Good Evening, Friends!

Thanks for your TOPP, Gail! (I also googled the spiral scarf and a curly scarf. There are directions for knitting OR crocheting.) I like the courage inspirational saying! I guess I left it wide open for you! Of course, that means I missed you!

Very colorful and bright avatar, Cyn! I like it! (And I missed you, too!) We must have all been searching for spiral scarves at the same time! Wonderful news for Karen K in Texas! Since I rarely get to Easy, I wouldn't have known until much later.

Thank you, Vicki! Now we know exactly which spiral scarf you are knitting! There's also a "Susi Swirls" Scarf listed. I'm wishing I could knit or crochet much better than I'm capable of!

Heidi, loved your comment about Buddy and what everyone in the neighborhood knows about him!

Rolanda, good for your S#1! Sounds impressive that the boss invited him along to Sydney for the presentation, meeting with Microsoft people, etc! Will you be showing us a picture of your spiral scarf when it's done?

Tami, how about if you and I just wish we could make one and enjoy the pictures of the ones our friends make?

Theresa, I hope your busy day went well! Hopefully by now you have been able to see a picture or two for the spiral scarf.

Heidi, I'm glad your next epidural is scheduled. Now begins the 2-week count-down. Here's hoping those 2 weeks fly by and you find some relief each day that you wait! Thinking of you!

WooHoo, MizT! Your insurance got worked out so you can get your epidural next Wednesday! Sounds like you have all of the logistics worked out! Gentle Hugs as you wait for the day!

Broni, somehow I can't imagine you doing nothing, but I'm glad you popped in to tell us!

Heidi, an AMAZING buy at the Dollar Store. Sounds like you went in at just the right time to find a bargain like that! Hurray for Robert enjoying cleaning out the trailers, tractors and trucks! Of course, the new power washer has something to do with it, but still, I'm sure it makes a yucky job less yucky!

Gail, thanks for sharing the April Fool joke. Unfortunately, there are predications for a major snowfall tomorrow (our April Fool's Day) in the northeastern states. We were just remembering the April Fool's Day blizzard in Chicago about 30 years ago. We had taken our 2 preschoolers to the natural history museum in Chicago, not knowing anything was predicted. It took us almost 8 hours to get from Chicago to the suburb where we lived (usually not much more than an hour drive normally during rush hour.) All we had for the kids to eat was some animal crackers. We didn't have any beverage, because we had brought our lunches to eat at the museum.

Suzy, unfortunately some teachers are stupid and some don't think before they do something stupid. My guess is that the teacher was young and inexperienced, but I don't know that for sure.

Vicki, congrats to the new tradie! A wonderful accomplishment worth celebrating. I hope your plan for Reg

Oops! I ran over!

Vicki, congrats to the new tradie! A wonderful accomplishment worth celebrating. I hope your plan for Reggie works well and all involved have a wonderful time!

Suzy, I hope Alie was well awake when your hubby pulled that joke on her. Will check out your link in a moment.

Cyn, the number of viewers at the eagle site has really jumped! The date suggested for the possible hatching is April 1, which is hopefully not an April Fool's joke. It's tomorrow for us, though. (I know there were still 3 eggs in the nest this afternoon when I peeked in and Mama was rearranging them.

Wow, 4 comments posted as I typed!

Cyn, sorry about the torrential rains postponing your plans for the day! I hope you have a beautiful, cool, sunny day on Monday (and all weekend, for that matter)!

I used to listen to many of the old-time radio programs, but don't know a station that currently carries them in our area. Brings back good memories, though!

Cyn, I made Alie's eyes go very wide (for a second until she regained her teenage cool) when I told her there was no TV when her Nana was little..

I think we all googled spiral scarf! I think I have a pattern for one somewhere but no idea where.

Vicki, good luck tonight and congrats to your tradie! I hope he's planning on using his skills on the home front.

Suzy - don't be silly! Don't you know that tradies never use their own trades at home! My hubby is a mechanic - never touches a car. My sonIL is a builder, their house, which is pre WWII has had renovation plans approved by council for years yet he hasn't done a thing.

Tradies using their skills on the home front sounds like the story of the doctor's kids who are always sick or the shoemaker's kids who have no shoes.

Nevertheless, I hope the party for the tradie is a huge success!

Cyn, my hubby is a designer and he designs all the time. I've lost count of the number of different houses he's designed for us! Some of which have the floor area of a mansion... I've told him the only way I'd ever want a house that big was if it came with a cleaner.
