Just in case I have checked numbers correctly, here's a thought for everyone: Stealing someone else's words frequently spares the embarrassment of eating your own. - Peter Anderson

I'm spending more time at a Barn Owl site. Bonnie and Clyde. It's been so much fun watching the 4 owlets grow, and seeing their individual personalities develop.

Morning all. Another busy day.

Tomorrow is hubby's birthday, but I am making dinner for us and my D and her family tonight. Have to get the groceries, make a cake ....

Up way too early for a Saturday - I think I will try and squeeze a nap in at some point.

Good Morning, All! Eaglet number 1 has arrived and is a little fluff ball. Mom was off the nest a few minutes ago. There were over 145,000 visitors. Maybe you were there, too?

Have ffuts to do today, but will try to pop in occasionally.

YEAH JULIE, you saw the eaglet. Hope the other 2 follow soon. Thank you for doing such great summaries of our posts, sure makes a good reminder of all the posts I meant to comment on.

TAMI, thanks for the coffee, mighty good this morning. Just sweetener and half and half forme thank you. Hope Saturday School is going well for you.

Theresa, happy birthday to Mr T from me. Hope your meal for everyone is a success. Nap today sounds like a good thing. How long fore you hear results of the cat scan??

Heidi, how are the new parakeets doing? Recovered from thier trip yet? Is Buddy still being a good boy and letting you treat him so easily? someone said earlier that animals seem to know when you are helping them. I know my cats have let me do some hurtful things to get them well, and tolerated it very well. Scooter had an abcess on her side as big as palm of my hand, from a small scratch in a cat fight. she let me irrigate that under the skin abscess by forcing peroxide in with a syringe, had to hurt, but I was able to do this without assistance. She just laid there once I told her what I was doing.

Joy tells a funny story about her cat that had a skin condition, scratching and biting till skin was raw and oozing. she had some aloe and oatmeal shampoo for pets, and decided to bath her cat in it. her telling of this was so funny, but I could just see that poor kitty, cornered in the bathtub, spread eagle up against the side wall, while Joy heald it with one hand and dipped warm water, then shampoo over the cat, worked it in gently, rinsed, then held it close wrapped in a towel. Usual post bath attitude was to run , hide and totally ignore Joy for up to a month. This time, she expected the same. she let the cat down, thinking it would be a long time fore it was seen, but no, kitty was rubbing all over her legs, purring, jumping into her lap, it seemed to know this was a good thing. silly kitties!!

Today is a much better day, something up in the sky that is hot and bright and round, could that be the SUN? Must get Al out for a dose of vitamin D. Warmer already today than yesterday, seems a nice day in store for us.

Did I tell you how very nice my outdoors looks? Must have, Julie commented on me having to mow grass, or have it mown. It makes me happy to see everything looking neat and trim, just the way i should do it if I were able. Having the young teen come knock on the door and say, Please, can I mow your grass is such a blessing. He said he was bored. I have a steep bank from the road down to front lawn, he got a goodly part of that cut , fore I had to stop him. I have native orange day Lilies, locally known as "ditch day lilies" cause they naturalize along sides of roadways in the ditch. They look just like some of the grasses, early spring, so he mowed a number down fore I noticed and stopped him. He was so very apologetic, but he did not know.

found something else on that bank. I have had a small

OH NO, I did a JULIE, and did not save the correct part of this post. I saved the Joy story, but somehow that is in the MIDDLE, not the end, bummer.

What is missing is the plum bush story, will get back to it again another time. Hugs with extras,

There's also a Ustream link on the Decorah page for Bonnie and Clyde. The link I posted is for a split screen. You can watch both inside and outside the nest box. And there's a super nice group to chat with. The owls are nocturnal, so the majority don't show up until dusk in Chula Vista, CA.

Good morning everyone. I am on limited diet today and just fluids tomorrow as Tuesday is colonoscopy. Just follow up from the diverticulitis. I do not expect any problems as they did a cat scan in January. My first anesthetic. Hospital staff found it hard to believe I could reach this age without any operations.

YEAH, I have internet, YEAH, I have telephone! Both went off suddenly today, no warning. for 2 days been having trouble with our phone line, a roar that was anoying, and got louder the longer I talked. Al phoned in a report about it, and they did a test. Never let us know if there was a problem. so, when hubby called about phones today (nice to have a cell phone for that) it was assumed he was calling in reference to the former complaint. A tech had been dispatched, call them again if we have not seen/heard from him in 30 min.

About 15 min later, he is here, checking line at the pole. Then he comes to door, saying he has lost signal (aware of that here, fellow) and will have to go back up the road a bit to a junction box to try to locate problem. He will phone us if he thinks he has it repaired, but it might be from a strange number, cause his company issued cell phone is not getting signal in this area. He will have to access a customer's line at junction box to phone us. WHAT??? The phone co has cell phones that employees use that will not connect?? I just almost suggested he try the carrier we have hehehe.

Went to grocery again, for milk, dry milk and carnation instant breakfast and bananas. That stuff disappears quickly here. I add a scoop 9f dry milk to each serving of instant breakfast, and a spoon full of oil, to boost the calories and nutrition. Dry milk once was inexpensive, much less than whole milk, not so now!

He also gets a banana a day mixed with his Instant breakfast, to keep his potassium levels up. Once a day, he gets real food, been Mac and cheese based last couple days. that is a high energy high cal base for whatever vegetables . Keeps his tummy accustomed to real food and the digestion there of.

I am so thankful I have this old, antique now, blender that I do. The working mechanism unscrews from the standard blender pitcher thingy, and can be attached to any canning jar, same screw pattern. I have 8 pint jars cleaned to use for his meals, a 2 day supply. Only have to wash the blade and screw base 4 times a day, not the whole pitcher thingy. Used jars go in dishwasher, a few steps saved every day.

OK, I am blabbering on here, just had meds for this back, and they do loosen my tongue hehehe. Four more sleeps till my pain block.

Please, may I be excused from the pillow fight? I do think even a blow from a single feather would be too much today.

Huge Hugs to each and every one of you, with extras if you need them.

Good Evening, All!

Well, a few of us have experienced eagle withdrawal when the site has gone down off and on today. One was just as Mama was getting up off the nest. Thank goodness for people who have captured some of the events and posted them on youtube or other sites. There is also a facebook page - Raptor Resource Project - where you can post comments. It has been extremely difficult to get into the chat room at the nest cam site.

Happy Birthday tomorrow to Mr. Theresa! I know you said you would be celebrating today with a family dinner, Theresa! Did you have a yummy cake for him? I hope you found time for a nap at some point! {{{{HUGS}}}} to you and your family, busy lady!

Heidi, I think I'll try the barn owls site when I finish comments here. My guess is that the timing will be just about right.

MIzT, what a great chatty post from you! It seems like things may finally be a bit more normal at your house. I'm sorry the young man accidentally got some of your day lilies. Hopefully they will come back! Great story from Joy about her kitty! Thanks for sharing! Hurray for the sun making an appearance for you! I hope you and Al were able to sit outside for a bit absorbing Vit. D! What a shame that you hadn't saved the full post, MizT! Look forward to reading the rest when it's convenient to share!

Suzanne, hurray for your new Mary Kay client! That's always good news! Hope your allergies are better!
