Hi all, hubby and I have just got home. We needed some supplies from the hospital, and dare of dares, work called and asked hubby to come in! You would have thought they were asking him to cut off an arm or something! Our son needed Dad's help, one of the machine motors wasn't working properly, and with all the suggestions hubby had given him over the phone, it was obvious it needed his special touch. I dropped him off then headed to the hosp. When I got back to pick him up, there was a very satisfied looking father/son team standing next to a now operating motor. They pulled it apart and found the bearing needed changing, and hubby said it was quite nice to do some actual work.
...then we had to do a gail...

Gail, Sounds like a lot was accomplish today. I hope you enjoyed your lunch.
The exam was OK and I finished early. Trouble is you just have to hope you picked the right answers.
Contemplated joining my friends for lunch but they would have had an hours start by the time I got a train to town so came home and got a bit of sleep that I missed last night.

Good evening all!
Theresa - what good news about your D walking the girls to the bus. That is major!
OMG, I've turned the page and forgotten what I've read. I can see that Rolanda's putting the finishing touches on tonight's dinner, Gail and hubby had been busy and June's exam was OK.
Love and hugs to all, anyway!

Karin and I had Mummy/Daughter day today! I do so enjoy them. Today we just poked around a big shopping centre. We were having morning tea at a lovely cafe and heard an almighty crash. When we looked, the glass front of their cake display case had smashed everywhere. This chain of cafes is well-known for it's cakes and there would have been none for the rest of the day - glass everywhere!! Managed to buy a nice gift for my niece Sarah who will be 40 later this month.

Cyn, why did the case shatter? I shall wonder the rest of the night about that.

Gail, congrats to hubby and son on resurrecting the motor. Always good for male bonding

Rolanda, I need to find out what kind of sauce you are making for lasagna. I have not heard of that, but cannot back up a page now without loosing this post.

Morning all.
Suzy, no destructo-babies. Harley has been fixed. Think his girlfriend has also. She is the "see-through" dog on my page.
June, good for you finishing the exam. I am sure you did fine.
Theresa, hope your daughter was feeling better after her walk and did not over do it.
Cyn, glad you enjoyed your mother/daughter day.
Gail, glad hubby had a good time working on the machine with son. Sounds like they enjoyed it.
Julie, kids are getting very hyper at school. They will be better once the stress of the test is over. Tomorrow is the last Saturday school. We will be having a party for the kids. Testing takes place over 4 days. Instead of 4 hours in one day, they test over 3 mornings. 8th grade has a 4th morning as they take a science exam that the other grades don't.

Tami our school break up today for Easter break. It is a strange month for schools this month as they have 2 weeks and 2 days off for easter, then go back for a couple of days, then they have the 29th April off for the Royal wedding and the following Monday off for May Day. In total they will have had 6 days in school.

Our kids have just started two weeks holiday, although at the end is Easter, so they will not be going back till Wednesday 27th April...I think (should prob look that up...)

On Sunday, the usual mob are meeting up for lunch at the Observatory Cafe in the Royal Botanic Gardens, along with Margo/Adelaide and her hubby, plus Jack/Nunawading, a member who joined fairly recently and says he is ready to meet a new group of people.

We are just looking at the photos Ken took of Laura and daughter Belinda riding at the show. Laura got a 4th and Belinda got a couple of 2nds and a third, I think.

One of our local high schools was evacuated yesterday morning because of a bomb threat. A small town like ours doesn't generally get this kind of attention. No news on whether a bomb was actually found. Police are being very tight-lipped about it. This came at a time when one of our retired police officer's funeral was underway. He passed away a few days ago, but from health problems.

Hope you can take it easier until then, Heidi. My right shoulder and upper arm are aching, I have a feeling it's arthritis. But it's not close to the pain you are experiencing. Aleve really dulls it, but I'm out at the moment. Hubby has some, so I'll raid his supply when he comes home.

Just found out sonIL is going out with the boys tonight, so I will need to help D with supper and the girls until their bedtime. I was really hoping to have the evening off .........

Does anyone want to come to my pity party???

No, Heidi, he definitely needs a break. A few hours out will do him the world of good. He's a terrific guy, and he has been really stressed out. He works 3 twelve hour shifts a week and one eight hour shift. Then he has to do the laundry and everything else. He does not have an easy life right now.

I guess it did sound like I was complaining about my sonIL, but I think I'M JUST MORE FRUSTRATED OVER THE SITUATION. That shouldn't be caps, sorry. I wasn't shouting. Just can't get used to the small computer. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night so I was hoping for an early night. Hubby is working tonight and won't be home until 11:30. I really have no right to complain ....
