A friend of mine from the old days and now on fb could probably do with that thought June. She has a severely disabled son who would be about 8 or 9 by now and when it is school holidays, like now, she sometimes reaches the end of her tether. At other times she posts of the joys of spending time with her son.

Heidi, I just did a weather check, and you are still in the middle of that storm. I am glad your horses behaved today, and the chore was finished before the storm arrived in your area. We have tornado watch till 11 pm, but most of the southern end of the storm is still west of us, in Mississippi. Just 2 more sleeps, till your pain block, and I do hope it and getting your medication again, help you a lot.

Just got an Email from Hubby. He had a good flight to Singapore (change there for flight to Malaysia). He was upgraded to business class so had nice meals and a flat bed to sleep.

June, I loved business class! Was hard to go back to economy when I was paying for the seats..

MizT, does that mean you will spend time in the dome, or just watch the weather radar carefully until 11?

We have a tyre shop in town which parks an old jag out the front with a dog and a plastic person sitting in it. In good weather it is a convertible. The sign out the front of their shop at the moment says "Someone knicked the dog from our jag - bring it back please" lol

It's still raining cats and dogs here. It had been drying out a wee bit since I patch seeded the lawn. I don't see it clearing up in the near future, tho'.

We will be watching radar to see where this line of t storms is located, and check weather reports to see if it looses strength after sundown.

Just checked, tornado warnings just west of us, bears a close watch the next hour or so. I so do not want to go sit in the dome but might be best.

Of course, Robert and I have to do clean-up tomorrow. IH scheduled a Farm Tour here a couple of hours after I have my epidural. I'll have to be in bed while he bluffs his way through the tour. He knows nothing about the cattle breeding program, and always gives people wrong answers to their questions.

Heidi, I should schedule a farm tour when you are not available just to hear IH's wrong answers. That could be fun, for me
I found plenty to do to keep busy in the hall. Had my laptop and watched the eagles. I can not come here or FB at school, they are blocked, but the eagle was not. It was feeding time and I showed a few people. One kept coming back to see.

I made a corned beef for supper, since IH said that he'd be here. He just called and said that he's already eaten at Wendy's, and won't be home for hours. That's more corned beef for me!!

Storm came, storm gone, lots of lightning, lights flickered once, sending us to hunt candles in case we lost power. No problems here that I coulod see in the dark. Many trees and power lines down in the state, I think about 50,000 are without power tonight. Happy for my lights, and my computer

Hugs to all, I am off to bed, catch you tomorrow.

Good Evening and Gekko! Rats - I read page 40, then hubby called me to watch the 10 p.m. news, and I forgot what I read.

June, I'm sorry I missed you last night. I hope Mr. June's trip to Malaysia is safe and productive! If you umpired Men's Bowls, does that mean you passed your test - or still able to umpire while awaiting results? June, you are amazing - just whipped up some curtains for the man whose office gets so much afternoon sun! Too bad you couldn't join the Melbourne group! I hope your bowls went well! I understand your quick visits to the eagles. Yes, we may miss something, but some of the good stuff gets put on the website or posted on youtube.

Thanks to Bean for sharing photos of the gathering!

Gail, we'll enjoy your pictures in a day or two!

Broni, I hope you haven't used up most of your internet allowance! We would miss you if you can't post!

Theresa, I hope there were no severe storms! I love your wisdom about the cracked! Describes many or most of us here, I would think! I know I'm one!

Tami, I hope today's testing went well! One down, two to go!

Rena, thinking of you and your Mom! {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for both of you! I hope the tooth extraction was painless! Positive thoughts that that all is well with your Mom and tests find nothing out of the ordinary! Come share with us any time you'd like to!

MIzT, I'm so glad to hear that your back is much improved! I hope you were able to get all of your errands accomplished and back home before storms arrived! I hope Al tried swallowing the ice cream and was successful!

Heidi, so glad to hear that the farrier's visit went well! Sounds like timing was great, since she/he finished before the storms hit. Just 2 more days (or less) until your epidural - thinking of you and hoping the pain is bearable.

Theresa, too bad your grandie was sick and interfered with your D's therapy session. Do you suppose the grandie was "in a mood" because she didn't feel well but her complaints weren't specific enough to voice. I know sometimes I can be a bit of a grouchy bear if I'm not quite feeling up to par but can't put my finger on it and don't really know what's wrong.

On to page 41 . . .

Super TOPP, June! How nice for Mr. June that he arrived in Singapore safely and was upgraded to business class for that leg of this trip!

Suzy, I'm hoping that the dog that was knicked from the Jag was also plastic. Of course, a real live dog can also be enticed away from its "home," so hope that's not the case!

Heidi, good luck with the clean-up tomorrow! Please let Robert do most of the work. Could Robert give the tour on Wednesday, instead of IH?

Tami, I'm glad you had your laptop and got to see the eagles! (That reminds me of the first year I taught. In about mid-March I had to administer a test to my kindergarteners! One of the little boys started to freak out. We had 2 pet gerbils in the room. I let Frank sit with the gerbils while he took his test. How valid do you think the results were?) I bet your colleagues were happy to see the brownies! Wow, most, if not all, disappeared this morning! You could have made a couple more batches!

Heidi, hmmm, corned beef at home or Wendy's? IH makes some interesting choices.

Rolanda, so glad to hear that the get-together and meals all went well - and there were even some left-overs!

MizT, I'm so glad to hear that the storm has moved on! I hope you and Al have a great night's sleep!

Good Night! I hope to see you tomorrow, though it will be late. We have errands to do, then grab a bite for dinner somewhere, then our woodturners club meeting. Take care!

BTW, the minutes of the board meeting were approved with a little editing and sent out! It's good to get that finished!

Evening all,
I hope Rena comes back and tells us how she is.

June, if bowls is anything like baseball you must be good. Only the women get the novice or bad umpires.

Broni, glad your allowance is okay.

Julie, don't do too good a job on the minutes!! If they ask you to fill in again, a few mistakes might be a good idea - save you from having to say no later... The dog in the jag was a big stuffed dog. Don't know why anybody would want it actually.

Rolanda, glad the dinner went well - and that you didn't have to cook the next night!

Hubby has been putting off mowing the area of the yard I have roped off from the horses and the grass was getting pretty long. A bit of tricky stuff from the horses and it's much shorter now! I hope they don't end up with a tummy ache..

Our old cats used to sharpen their claws on the furniture and ruin it. Nomnom tried it once, we yelled and jumped up - he hasn't done it again! He uses the side of the wood box and what will one day be my vege patch...

MizT, glad you didn't lose power for more than flicker.. It's not as bad now but we used to grab the candles and even light one of them as soon as a storm started because Alie would totally freak if the lights went out - it kept her calm until we got the others lit.

Morning all. Just stopping in for a minute. Glad to see all is good and no major storm damage for Tricia.
Heidi, I would come and share some of the Corned Beef with you but it is a long drive.
Rena, hoping all went well with your tooth and that mom is well. Hope you come back soon and post.
Julie, I also think you should make a few mistakes so you don't get asked to take minutes again.

All the rain we've had seems to have come into the house. The sump pump is making noise like it's running, but it looks like it isn't pumping. But the water got a head start because IH had it turned off. I only got 2 hours sleep before he woke me up yelling that I needed to go down to the basement and help him bail out water. My back completely quit after a couple of dozen buckets. He doesn't own a rain coat..... too cheap to buy one, so he's using mine.

Oldest grandie is staying home today - still not feeling well. D is not sure if she is sick or not, but has kept her home to have a talk. She thinks there is something bothering her. Hopefully they can work it out.

I'm going to Gail's for dessert. What's your address, Gail?

Morning Friends
Oh Heidi, I was wondering how you fared with all the rain, just checked your weather. Appears to be the end of the rain. sorry you have a flooded lower level. You needed your sleep, only time you can escape the pain, till tomorrow. I do hope you can get a nap today, but didn't I hear you say you and Robert had to do some cleaning for the tour? I think all your cyber friends need to throw cyber rocks at Gil, he surely does things that cause you worry and pain.

Good Luck Theresa getting the grandies off to school. I hope you had time for a couple cups of coffee first, so you are awake and aware.

Gail, just what kind of cake is that? Wonder if Mr Google knows?

Suzy, how fortunate that Nom Nom got the message about scratching furniture! You are a good kitty mommie, teaching him.

Suzy, I am alsmot as bad when lights go out. while we were in dome, I had a small flashlight (torch?) In my pocket so I could find my way to the candles. Onc ce I did not have to worry if Al was around, he had a ciggie lighter in his picket, but no longer. He could light that long enough to get to the candles.

Do you know those cheap little stick on lights, that will not stay stuck, that you can find in the dollar stores? I have several of them, just sit them on tables near where I might be if lights go off, computer desk, bedside table, recliner side table. They turn on with a touch, so I can just pat the table in the dark till I find it. Little LED bulbs that take very little power, batteries will last a long long time.

Broni, so glad you still have internet time, I will go PHEW with you. Would miss you too much if you ran out.

Tami, hope you have a good day today on day two of testing. Will you be out in the hall again? Laptops are good entertainment. Grading papers is a good use of time, but boring.

With those explicit directions, I'll be right there Gail.

It's just after 11:00 AM and I am beat already! With grandie home sick I am being run ragged. She hasn't eaten anything yet - she is just lying on the couch with the barf "bucket" nearby. D asked if I would look after the girls after school tomorrow when she has physio, but I nixed that idea. The days are long enough for me. They will just have to take the girls with. I do say "no" sometimes.

MizT, those cakes are delicious. A friend of mine makes them. Drooooool.

Good morning. I thought I better check in. I would have last night but didn't get my laptop out after we came home. The extraction went well. They had to cut the tooth in half. It was sideways pointing downwards to the molar next to it. I got a few stitches, too. It was rather sore even before the freezing wore off. By the afternoon my jaw was swollen. Still hurts today, quite swollen and I can't open my mouth very wide. Got T3s for the pain, they work well.

We stopped at mom's on the way home yesterday. She seemed okay to me. She has been spending most of her time in bed reading. She said she was still a little dizzy. Her doctor is away this week so she probably won't know the results of her blood test until he gets back. I will be taking her shopping on Friday. I sure don't want her going by herself right now.

Thanks for all your good thoughts. I'll try to keep you posted.

Thanks for dropping in Rena. Hope the mouth is soon back to normal and your Mum was OK while you were away.
Heidi, how could you even try to lift a bucket. My back problem is nowhere as bad as yours but i could not carry buckets of water without having problems. But then our house is built above the ground with a clearance of about 1 foot at the back and 3 feet at the front so no flooded basement!
