Missed you Julie, was reading the easy page and Pete(poss) even posted at the end of page one! Such a shy little creature he is hehe!
His mum was released from hospital and staying with his sister who has had cancer in the brain which is a worry for Pete, but still only a matter of time, believe she is holding out for the Easter Show.
Ray is good just busy and no time to enjoy his online friends but will be back real soon.

Gekko all,
Cyn, glad you liked the video. I thought Alie did a great job on the hats. She knew exactly what she wanted and how to make it work - sooo not like her mother... Do you know her well enough now to pick which one was her?

June, Jamberoo is only about 45 minutes from here, who is on the bus trip?

Thank you everyone for stealing a month of my year by reminding me it is already April!! It's still too blasted cold!

Julie, I have a stool permanently in my kitchen just for those high cupboards. At least I do when Alie hasn't 'borrowed' it.

Morning all - I feel slightly better today.

I just fed the cats a can of catfood. I'm sitting here with a coffee listening to their slurping sounds.

Julie, the physio for my D is about an hour's drive away.

Grandie was sick yesterday. She vomited in the afternoon and that seemed to make her feel better. I hope today it won't be the other grandie's turn. Don't think I can take 2 days in a row like that.

Glad you are feeling a little better Theresa.

I had a sad experience this afternoon. I ran into someone I hadn't seen in a while and gave her my condolences over the loss of her MIL - she fell into the river while tending her garden and drowned. Turns out their family is a bit of a mess right now. Her husband is the one who rescued the girl in the river when the car she was in was pushed off the road and down the embankment. Two weeks prior to that her mother had died. Her husband took a while to start coping again after the stress of the river rescue. And then his mother drowned in the same river. He's a mess. In the meantime her father is dying of cancer and their son has had emergency surgery and has been diagnosed with an incurable bowel disease - he is 31... Tonight her husband is getting a bravery award for the river rescue and she is very worried that he will not cope. She obviously isn't - I suggested that she might need to find a couple of hours a week just for her as she wouldn't be able to help anyone if she fell apart too. I hope they have some peace for a while.

Suzy, I hope that family is able to get some help to sort out all their problems.
The bus trip is with some of the people from the bowls club. (17)
Laura has gone to her other grandma for the night. An older cousin will be with her (early 20's). It has given my daughter a chance to get a good rest. She is in quite a bit of pain and they think the nerve ends are possibly damaged. I had hoped that once the treatments stopped she would have been feeling a lot better than she is.

Good morning all. Just a quick stop as I have to get to school early. Today is math test so I have to administer. No more hall duty. Have to prep my room. Did not have time yesterday.
I did not get papers graded. I am in charge of end of year field trip and am trying to get paperwork organized. Left my laptop at home so I had to borrow one and was not able to get much done.
Hope all is well. see you all later.

I'm still a little sad about that family. I'm not close enough to them to really do anything. I have to hope that just having the chance to vent helped her a little.

June, I'm also sad that your friend is still in pain. I hope there is something that can be done. I guess that's too big a party to gate crash, especially since I'll be going to Sydney on Sunday to go to the show so have to save pennies...

Morning friends,

It is a cool start of our day today. We actually had heat come on last night. this cool spell is called blackberry winter, happens each year when the blackberries bloom. Out back, there are some blackberries that escaped from the mowing, they are coming up in a stack of lumber (timbers?) and would have to be hand cut. Al said he wanted to go cut them down. Not till after the berries, please, there should be enough for a couple of good black berry cobblers.

Heidi, hope you return home with much less pain! ANd your pain medication too.

I too think Laura is doing great to do the 4x4 sudoku and wanting harder ones. but there is something I gotta say, so bear with me. sudoku is not about math. It just happens to use numbers, but we do not add, subtract, multiply or divide them. sudoku is a logic game, and would work just as well with letters or symbols. Too many of my friends have shied away from sudoku because they "can't do math". OK, had my say, now you can throw cyber rocks at me if you want. Laura is still brilliant doing the puzzles so easily.

Heidi, hope you have had the epidural by now and some pain relief. see you tomorrow when you are up and about again.

Suzy, thoughts and prayers to that family you wrote about, that is soo tragic. I do hope they can get some counseling that will help them through this very rough time.

Tami, on first reading I thought you had got papers graded, then I read again. Bad teacher, bad!

June, hope daughters pain is soon lessened, sending hugs to her.

Theresa, how are the grandies today? Nobody sick and throwing up?? Hope today is a better day for you.

Broni, thoughts and prayers to you, Poss and his Mom. It is amazing how the terminally ill can hold out for some specific reason. I know my mom did.

off to get some ffuts done today, hugs to all with extras.

BEWARE OF THE HOT SLIDY THINGYMEJIGGY..
It gets in the way of the arm..
Yep I have a burn mark and it's ouchy..
It's way too late to do this type of krow,
but the husband needed a workshirt for tomorrow,
and Friday and Monday, then I did one for Tuesday
(by the time I am home on Monday, ironing a shirt will not be on my agenda at all!)
YAWN.. nighty night..
see you all on the flip side!!

MizT, grandie is home sick today, but it turns out I made her sick!!!! I accidentally doubled her epilepsy meds for the last 2 mornings. The drug store had given D a new syringe, but nobody told me - the new syringe looks similar to the old one, except it's twice the size. I thought it looked different. I filled it to the same level without checking the graduations on the syringe.

Anyhoo, the drug store was called immediately this morning, and apparently the double dose is not dangerous, it will only make her sick and she should be fine tomorrow. Both D and I feel bad, but we're only human. Thank goodness no long term damage resulted.

Morning all,
Already ahead on my internet usage so I am going to be a good girls today...

Heidi, glad it hurt bad! I hope the relief lasts until the next one.

Rolanda, ouch!! That's why you shouldn't use the hot slidey thing. I don't anymore, except possibly on my own stuff. If others want their stuff done, they know where it is.

June, glad your hubby is home safe. Hope his trip from the airport isn't too hectic.

Theresa, so pleased you know what is wrong with your grandie and that she will be fine tomorrow.

The husband in the family I mentioned is seeing someone, but his wife says she thinks it makes him worse. Why does therapy have to be painful to work?

Tricia, I was not a bad teacher. I was a good teacher. I was working on the paper work for the end of year field trip. I got "volunteered" to organize it this year. We leave at 5:30 am and return at 10:30 pm. It is a long day but the kids love it.

Suzy, wish I could do something for the family also. It is hard to know someone going through so much and not being able to do anything.
Heidi, glad you had a bad one.
Theresa, glad the grandie is going to be ok. We all know that you would not intentionally give her too much medication.

I think that this one may have been the best/worst one I've had out of the 40+ ones I've had. My legs are so shaky that I can't walk or stand without a cane, but the pain level is down already. The next epidural is scheduled for July 20th at 7:40 am.

On the way back from the hospital (I drove myself against Doctor's orders) I dropped of the new 'scrip for the pain meds. I then guilted (new word) IH into picking it up for me (I asked him to pick up 3 others at the same time, and he forgot one)!!! He got back an hour ago with it. It's kicking in nicely, now.

Maybe now you'll follow my lead, Rolanda! I threw my hot, slidy thing in the trash years ago. If IH wants something pressed, he can pay professional cleaners to do it. I've burned myself too many times to risk it again.

Theresa..... It was an ACCIDENT!! No long term harm was done, and now everybody has learned to double check the tiny numbers on the syringe. When you're used to giving shots, it becomes automatic and you habitually just fill the syringe without reading. Even doctors and nurses do that. Your grandie is OK, and that's all that matters.

The problem with throwing the Hot Slidy Thingymejiggy away.. Is that I really like MY clothes to be ironed.
The boy washes his own, and looks after the ironing/non ironing of it.
Hubby, well, hmm, is dependent on his wife to do such menial tasks,
(what can I say other than his mother failed with him),
when moi was away for 3 weeks in China, he got his 90yr old MIL to do it..
and Of Course she did it with Love
(afterall it is her favourite Job)

Hi everyone!
Heidi, I'm glad to hear you've finally had your epidural. Glad it hurt, too.
Theresa, sorry about your Grandie. That's a mistake that will never happen again!
I'm having a haircut tonight, got the nieces' partner staying for a few days, organised my mother to come for a few days over Easter, finishing my working week today and waiting for the prawn man to come so I can get prawns for dinner. Hmmm, that's about it for today.

Theresa, I thought it, but didn't say it, you are going through a lot right now and the only reason I can see not to feel sorry for yourself is that it will only make you feel even worse! You actually have reasons to.

Vicki, I think you are right - lots of take away food in Rolanda's house this weekend. I wish I was having a hair cut tonight. It's only a couple of weeks since I had it done, but it was the worst cut I've had in years! Nothing I do makes it look decent, even the colour is rubbish!!

Talking of Haircuts.
Mine is due for a cut on Good Friday, Shop Shut!
OK make it the Monday before,
when home phoned back - opps no am not home (away on 4 day R & R)
OK make it the following Friday after Easter with A, as H is away on Holidays.
Got a phone call the other day, A is leaving, either I get E to do it..
or wait till the following Monday when H is back.
I decided to wait till H is back. So Monday the 2nd May it is..
H is my usual Hairdresser.
It could do with a cut now, and like Suzy, the colour is rubbish..
