Nup, when Heidi makes a commitment she sticks with it! Perhaps you could have him committed for stupidity?

Good Evening, Everyone! I thought I was going to get an earlier start here tonight, but found out I had to do some work for the wood working/turning club.

Broni, if you are happy that you are unemployed, we are happy for you! At least you won't be working in that hot building any more. Enjoy the adventure! Thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way!

Tami, are students allowed to keep their cell phones with them in school? At the middle school where I taught my last year, students were supposed to keep their cell phones in their locker during the school day. I hope your day was MUCH better today! BTW, I had to chuckle when I read your cattle stampede suggestion!

Cyn, it sounds like the 4 girls (with Maddie's help) got themselves organized and helped you, so hopefully their sleep-over wasn't too much extra work for you.

Gail, thanks so much for keeping us up-to-date on Lizzy's condition! Please send her our love, concern and positive vibes and give her a big hug from her SA friends! Thanks!

Brenda, I bring up Skype occasionally, but so far he's immune to my suggestion.

Theresa, thinking of you, your hubby, your D and SonIL, your grandies, and even your IL's. I hope the weather has improved and you get at least an occasional glimpse of the sun! Take care, get sleep when you can, eat well-balanced meals and know that we care and are thinking about you!

Heidi, I'm also surprised that you didn't already have a separate checking account. It seems like a VERY wise move! Apparently that's very common with younger people. Hubby and I started out with joint saving and joint checking and have kept it that way. Our married D not only has separate accounts, but they divide up who pays for what in their household. I guess hubby and I are just old-fashioned fuddy-duddies!

Gail - please give Lizzy a big hug specially from me.
Heidi - I am, as ever, flabbergasted by the things IH does!!
Thinking of you all, hugs to those that need them, and my best wishes for a happy or holy or fun Easter, whatever you choose.

Tami, I hope baseball went well! Enjoy your 3-day weekend!

Broni, I hope you are enjoying the "first day of the rest of your life!" Did you and Bella take your walk! I hope you can take some time and just enjoy doing things for you that you want to do!

Thinking of everyone, but getting too sleepy to remember what I've read, so I'm going to call it a night!

Positive vibes and thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and prayers for everyone, whether you think you need them or not! I hope you all enjoy your weekend, whether you are celebrating in any way, or just spending a normal weekend with family or friends! Happy Easter to those who celebrate or acknowledge it! Good night and take care!

Good Morning friends.

Why can't I find an older post when I want it? Someone asked about Al and I wanted to address you by name, I imagine I looked right over the correct post, or it was further back than I thought.

A week ago when Al weighed, he had not gained any more weight, but had not lost any, either. It is almost time to weigh again, I hope he will have gained a pound or so. Seems he is not "eating" as much, gets a late start in the morning, then says he is too full for his fourth meal.

You also asked about when his scan will be. I just found out yesterday, got a call from the scheduling office to tell us he is scheduled for Wednesday the 27th. It will be a week after that for an appointment back with doc, but I do not know when yet.

Suzy, I think Julie is east coast time, most of Illinois is. Just what time was it when Julie was posting??

CynB, hope your Good Friday was as you wished.

Ours has dawned cloudy with yet again a chance of T-storms. It was forecast last night to be sunny today, they goofed. The "sunny" for Saturday and Sunday have also changed to partly cloudy, at least no T storms forecast then, yet.

It looks as if Heidi had rain all night, and rain will be around most of today. I take a look at her weather when I look at mine.

Al's brother and cousin will be comming down Sunday, but not for a meal. they are going to the cousin's daughter's house, about 6 miles from me, so will drop by. R got us a new battery for the cell phone, it was acting up. A charge might last several days, or might go flat with 2 text messages, just not reliable. I was managing OK, as I have a charger in the car now. If I picked up phone to go and it was low, I could charge it while driving. That is a handy thing.

Joy is coming down sometime this weekend, she does not get more specific than that hehehe. Kids!! I will cook something that can hold over, so she can eat whenever she arrives.

I have planted most of my flowers, one or 2 containers a t a time. I still have tomatoes to set out, in huge buckets cause my soil is not the best for putting in the ground. I hope these are productive, I did buy a variety that had more things listed under the "resistant to" part of label. Awkward sentence, but brain not functioning to correct it, sorry. I am not a teacher, my excuse hehehe.

Hi all. Baseball went well. Dylan's team had to forfeit as only 7 kids showed up. We played a practice game as the other team was there also. The kids had fun and at least got in the extra practice. Off to a friends house. Talk to you all later.

MizT, I was the one who asked about Al's weight and scan. Not too long to wait now. I think Julie may have posted around 3am if I got it right. I have eastern time as the alternate time on my computer. Since I came in a while after her I might have it wrong though.

Tami, sometimes the practice games are more fun than the real ones. Especially if there are aggressive parents watching.

Julie is on Central time, like you are, MizT. I'm the one on Eastern time. Kentucky is a confusing state when it comes to time because the line zig zags through the middle of the state and in many spots Central time is further east of Eastern time. I'm 1 mile from the time zone line, but it runs south of me from east to west, and Magnolia, which is 4 miles west of me, is half in Eastern time and half in Central time.

It's also raining here. But only lightly.
It's a good day to take my finish mower in for repairs. It needs a new belt, and the blades sharpened. I loaded it on the trailer yesterday, using the tractor. Now I just have to call the dealership to let them know I'm bringing it in, and to make sure they're open.

Hot and sunny today.
We are going to look at new cars (or new to us) in a while. We are going to downsize... not in size of car but on quantity. Going to get rid of two of the three cars we have and replace it with one. We are fancying A Volvo C70, but will have a look at cars of the same type and then decide what will be best.

And I'm back. With 3 additions to the menagerie. I bought 2 budgies (1 yellow and green pied, and 1 solid white) and a baby bunny (male - white with black spots). I have a couple of female rabbits running loose (1 brown with white patches and 1 black with white patches) and I'll let this guy loose once he's adult size. I'd love to have baby bunnies running around here.

Hi all. Had a nice morning at my boss's house. She bought a new vacuum and gave me her old one. Mine blew up a few weeks ago. I also got some pots and plants for out front. She has a green thumb. Her hubby gave me a little bench for the front porch. It should hold one or two little pots. I am trying to make my front look better. My car is in the shop and I won't get it back until tomorrow. The window broke so they are replacing the motor that makes the window go up and down. Boys and I are watching a movie and waiting for hubby. I will do some work outside a little later. It is too hot to be outside already. It is going to be a looooooooong summer.

Morning all,
Heidi, like Broni said, on sudoku time and I was up late yesterday - by my standards.. not Julie's, or yours...

Just stole this from someone on FB and can't wait for a TOPP to post it.

"If you didn't see it with your own eyes, or hear it with your own ears, don't invent it with your small mind and share it with your big mouth."
Eleanor Roosevelt

I find it particularly applicable today as I found out yesterday that one of Dana's friends is telling people I kicked her out!!! Who knows if that's what Dana told people or if this kid is making it up - she's known for that.

Tami, I just bought a new little vacuum to replace the old one that I hated from the day I bought it. It's only a cheap thing but I'm hoping it works okay. I'll give the old one to Dana. She's coming over to stay the night so she can be here for the easter egg hunt tomorrow - yes, we still do them! It was very sad because Alie said 'she's probably only coming for what she can get'...

Alie is probably right. I hope eventually she comes to her senses and moves back home. Don't let yourself get too attached for the night. I don't want to see you get hurt when Easter is over.

Suzy, do you boil eggs and dye them? Or use the plastic fill and hide eggs? I would dye eggs with my girls, and put them in a "nest" on the kitchen table, but Easter bunny brought the plastic eggs with the candy inside. My Ex wanted to cut the grass on Easter weekend, so the yard would look nice for the grandparents who came on Sunday. Youngest daughter put a stop to that, " Daddy, the Easter bunny cannot hide eggs if you cut the grass". She also got him to leave her patch of wildflowers, small blue flowers on some kind of grass. If he HAD to mow, he had to leave that patch till they finished blooming.

Joy decided what we should have for Easter Dinner, something using venison. Only place she gets that is here. suits me just fine, I will not have to shop for that.

We do both types of eggs MizT, though we can't get white eggs so the colouring is harder. When we first got to Oz it was hard to find the plastic ones and we had to use our dwindling supply of recycled ones. We can buy them here now though so all is good.

It sounds like Ally really has her sister's number, Suzy. And don't worry about the things that girl is saying. Anybody who knows you (and matters) will know the truth. And anyone who knows that girl will know she can't be believed. How's that saying go? God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change, the strength to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference...... or something like that.

What Heidi said goes ditto for me. Alie def has her head screwed on right.
At 18, once they have tasted freedom there is no way she'd be coming back home to live unless every other avenue was closed to her, even then I would make it as uncomfortable as possible so that she gets herself some other accommodation...but then that's me, I am a hard mother.

Julie, I read that story earlier. I would never imagine a big red as a suitable therapy animal - even neutered and partially paralysed - she may come to regret that.

A wild animal that can grow to 6 feet tall in the wild. I remember a big red standing next to our outdoor dunny when I was a kid and it was scary huge!

The story said that the Big Red has been neutered and is partially paralyzed after being injured by running into a fence. They claim that because of that it'll only grow up to 50 lbs instead of the 200 lbs they normally reach. What kind of care is it getting from someone who needs a therapy animal? That doesn't sound like anybody is thinking much of the welfare of that wild animal.
