Mothers and facebook - apparently we're very embarrassing! Alie will delete any comment I make even if it's nothing notable at all.

Just seeing if it works on here - Gail posted it on that other page and it was really cute, and only one off the topp.

Good Evening, Gekko, and Happy Easter!

Gail, I'm so glad you (and others) go regularly to Easy and find out important information we should know. I have been extremely lax about visiting Easy and wouldn't know without you. Thank you!

Heidi, I'm so sorry to hear that the new sump pump became clogged and allowed your basement to flood again. I guess IH has some work to do to sort out his soggy papers! (Do you chuckle when he's not looking?)

MizT, TWO brilliant ideas in one post! First, what a great idea to ask your BIL to bring you a plate lunch from the Easter lunch. You're right; men would absolutely not think of that. Second, wouldn't you like to see IH stringing a clothesline around the basement and hanging his papers to dry? Great image!

Heidi, condolences to your plumber on the passing of his mother. May she RIP.

Rena, seems like you have a great Easter planned for Amber and her cousin! Happy Easter! (How is your Mom doing? Thinking positive thoughts and sending prayers for her and you!)

Tami, you handled curfew well, I see! It will be interesting how your sons deal with it when the time comes!

Broni, Happy Easter to you, too! Thinking of you and hoping you have a relaxing day!

Heidi and Suzy (and probably everyone else!), yep, can't believe how much I spent - and how little I have to bring home - when I go food shopping!

Heidi, you're right about a minor incident becoming a public scene due to the mother's reaction on facebook. I know Suzy said the daughter can be a bit odd, but it sounds like the same is true for the mother. Too bad!

Earlier bed time tonight, I hope! Happy Easter to all!

about to close down for the night, it is late for me.

Heidi, could be more t storms in store for you over night. I hope the sump pump continues working and the dogs are not too disturbed. Day time t storms with upset dogs is bad enough.

Suzy, I also have that feeling when I go grocery shopping, prices go up up up and the quantities go down and down. anyone noticed the tiny size of hamburger buns lately?

Tami, calling home did not get me an extension of curfew. I had best not call home unless there was some emergency, cause Dad went to bed early. I had just got permission to stay out past HIS bedtime, which was 9 pm!! Up untill my wedding, I had to be home by 10 PM, cannot tell you how many endings of movies I missed. IF I knew what movie I was seeing and if I could show dad what time it let out, I might get 15 minutes extra, but it was rare.

Falling asleep, making more mistakes than I can correct, so nite all, and hugs.

Happy Easter everyone!

Mum has been and gone again - actually I picked her up on Friday and took her home again this afternoon. We survived and I told her that I was going to visit K in Newcastle. Eventually she accepted I was going and was then quite positive about it.

We've had a busy time for the few days and tomorrow I'll pack and also go to visit MIL. Hubby and I have had a wonderful anniversary - dinner at KFC which we ate in the car on the way home from Mums. We are sharing a bottle of wine - he's watching tv and I'm on the computer. Happy Anniversary - you can tell we've been married for 28 years.

Have a great week all. I don't imagine I'll be back but who knows?

Happy Easter again to those yet to arrive.

Tami, forgot to mention earlier, your feast, and they are always that, sounded amazing!

For those who do not see the posts I have on FB, my oldest nephew and his wife just had their first baby, a boy, Tadgh (in reference to his father's Irish background, pronounced 'tie'). All doing well. ♥

Happy Easter to all my friends who celebrate.
Gail, congrats on the new baby.
Suzy, I was 19 and my parents (mom) still tried giving me a curfew. That is why I would call. I figured out that as long as I called, I wouldn't get into too much trouble. My boys are going to have a hard time. Everything they are going to try on me, I already did to my parents. That was before cell phones with GPS. I also had my own car at 16.5. I paid for the car, parents paid insurance.

Vicki, happy anniversary, it was romantic in its own way... glad your mother has accepted that you can have a holiday on your own now you're over 18..

Gail, congrats to the great aunt and to your niece and nephew, and thank them from someone who has tried to take the roll in a few classes and struggled pronouncing the names there...

Tami, I think you got the good end of the cost deal on the car! I left home at 18 (had to to go to Uni) and think it's crazy to have a curfew for an 18 year old... mind you, I didn't get to keep mine past 18 to test that out..

My curfew was that I had to wake Mum when I got home to let her know I was safe. I still remember the time she burst into my bedroom at 6am - why didn't you wake me??? - Mum, I did, we had a long conversation about where I went and what I did. - did we? I don't remember...

Suzy, I went to uni near where I lived. I lived at home and drove to classes. It ended up being a cheap way to go to school. I did not like school and did NOT want to go to college, so I went part-time until I figured out what to do. The reason I got a car was that we moved just before my last year of high school. Rather than change schools, I got a car and drove 20 miles each way for my last year. Made for a great excuse for being late.

The thunderstorms last night were not on top of us, though we could hear thunder and see the flashes of lightning. So the dogs did not freak out, just got a little nervous.

Good Morning Friends!

Weather forecasters were wrong again! I do wish they would forecast dull cloudy days, like we have again today, then perhaps we would have sun hehehe. Al said we did have sun yesterday for about 30 minutes, but I was taking a nap and missed it.

About curfews, I was 18, had graduated high school (at age 16) and was working, but still had a 10 pm curfew!

Happy Anniversary to Vicky and her hubby.

Suzy, funny about your Mom not remembering that you woke her ,

Gail, congrats on the birth of a great nephew, and what an unusual name. As an adult we sometimes appreciate a " family name" but growing up they can be a nuisance or even traumatic for a child.

Weather map shows that Heidi got a lot of rain overnight. How is the basement and sump pump, Heidi? Was there lots of thunder? How are your dogs?

Off to make Al his breakfast, he is still using the feeding tube, so I mix a custom formula then add real food to it. this morning, half formula, other half ground cereal and banana. I think he needs some REAL food so he does not forget how to digest it.

Hugs to all, and a Happy Easter to those topsiders just waking.

I'm assuming that the sump pump was OK last night, since IH did not wake me in hysterics in the early morning hours. I don't want to go downstairs and look.

Morning all,
MizT, I'm curious as to what curfew you had for your kids after your super strict upbringing - which doesn't seem to have hurt you at all by the way...

Tami, there is a university near me now, though I still would have to move to Sydney to study what I chose to study. They don't even offer it at Wollongong.

Very frustrating!! I went back to bed with my book - every one else is still asleep so why not? The phone rang so I jumped up to try to get it before it woke everyone else up. It was a friend of my mothers asking me questions about facebook - why isn't the picture I posted showing up on my home page, it's on my profile page, but not my home page??? After talking for about 10 minutes I realised she didn't know about the 'most recent' option and always looks at 'top news' and can't work out why she doesn't see stuff!! It got worse from there... 45 minutes later she is gone...

Good Evening, Everyone!

MIzT, I agree; groceries cost more, but come in smaller packages than before! I also agree about calling home for a curfew extension. I would not have dared to call after about 9 or maybe 9:30 - and certainly not to come home later than established curfew! But, then, I'm much older than Tami.

Vicki, I'm glad your Mum's visit went well and you were able to convince her to accept your trip to visit your sis! Suzy said it so well, "glad your mother has accepted that you can have a holiday on your own now you're over 18." Thanks for the chuckle, Suzy!

Vicki, Happy Anniversary! Your anniversary sounded so much like hubby's and mine. KFC and home to separate activities. But, you're much younger than I am. (We will celebrate our 40th anniversary next month.)

Gail, congrats on your nephew and niece-IL's new little one, whose name I won't be able to remember how to pronounce.

MizT, seems like a very good idea to combine formula and real food for Al's feeding tube! I hope that works well for him!

Suzy, was liquid "refreshment" involved in the accident between the young man and the moving truck? I hope it wasn't just a silly dare!

Heidi, your dinner sounds delicious! We didn't do anything special today. We were invited to dinner last night by neighbors celebrating Greek Orthodox Easter. (I hadn't realized that they celebrated the same day this year. Usually it is a week later.)

Oh, dear, Heidi, five more days of rain? Not fun for you or your animals! I hope the meteorologists are wrong!

Suzy, how nice of you to help the lady figure out facebook!

Broni, the deviled eggs sound yummy!
