We had a lovely time in Melbourne with all the Grandies. It was great for Laura to spend time with her cousins. It also gave her mother time to rest. The weather was kind but I have come home and developed a head cold. I have to have Laura again tonight as no school for her tomorrow and her mother has to go in to work.
Hugs to you all.

Pleased to hear that those who have been away for Easter had a nice time. June hope your head cold doesn't last too long.
Weather here in England has been wonderful over the long weekend (4 days) it's a bit chilly this morning, but is supposed to improve later. Fingers crossed that this weekend coming (another 4 day weekend) has the same weather, especially on Friday when that special wedding takes place in London.

Brenda - glad the weather over there has been good. I don't think the weekend has been good for my dear friend who lives over there, near Huddersfield. Since Thursday night she has -
Been hospitalised for what was suspected to be a heart attack - fortunately it was not.
Had a car accident
Lost her husband's false teeth - Lord knows how that happened!
Knocked her SonIL's laptop off the coffee table breaking the screen!
AND - yesterday was her 61st birthday.
Poor Jenny!

Morning all. Help yourself to a cup.
Broni, thank you for sharing. I have never seen that poem before and it is beautiful.
June, hope the cold gets better soon.
Brenda, I am also hoping you have nice weather for the weekend. I plan on taping the wedding to watch later in the day. I am not going to miss the chance to see a wedding.
Rolanda, glad you had a nice time.

Cyn, how on earth did your friend lose her husbands teeth? Hope she has a better time on the next long weekend.
I've just booked a family holiday in a cottage in the Peak District. It will be the first time the whole family will have been away together since we went to Canada 4 years ago.

Not until August. Because my daughter is a teacher we have to take school holidays, which of course means that it is the most expensive time. It will probably be the last time we all go on holiday together so am looking forward to it.
How is your daughter doing?

How many are in your family?

D is doing better every day. She is now walking with a cane. She has started to go to Weight Watchers because she had put on some weight when she was immobile. Her doctor wants her to have as little extra weight on her hip as possible. She is in good spirits and starting to make plans for the summer. My involvement is still quite high as she still tires easily and is not supposed to overdo it. Yesterday she took a walk around the block. Onwards and upwards ...

It sounds like your daughter has made huge progress, Theresa!! It sounds like her endurance will improve now, and you won't be having to do as much in a week or two. My fingers are crossed that her progress is steady.

I second that Heidi.
My family is complex Theresa, but the family members who are going on holiday are two daughters and a son plus maybe a daughters boyfriend and of course Richard and I. The rest of the extended family live away from home and we rarely if ever see them.

Heidi, I am so sick of this weather. I just turned the heat back on ... my feet are soooo cold. Yesterday I washed all our winter stuff and stored it away. I AM NOT TAKING IT BACK OUT AGAIN. Yes, I'm shouting.

Have to get a few groceries as soon as the rain lessens. Man (and woman) cannot live by bread alone. First I'm going to make some more coffee.

I assume Heidi that you got the power bill paid yet again.
Hope you don't get as much rain as predicted Heidi and Theresa.
I looked on our forecast and see that thunderstorms are predicted for Friday, fingers crossed that they don't happen. I can imagine many thousands of wet people lining the route of the wedding procession. One guy has already staked out his vantage point outside of the cathedral.

Heidi, did you have T storms this morning? The tail end of the line of storms that went through KY are here now, and we only getting a sprinkle of rain, soon to be gone, I must get to grocery once it is gone, since it will not last long, I am waiting till it is over to get out and about. NO SUN here again today, bummer. Perhaps I should be sure to get my Vitamin D capsules today, not going to get any outside!

Brenda, I do hope the weather in London is at least dry this weekend. The citizens waiting outside for a glimpse should not have to stand in rain

Heidi, glad to see you are here, power restored.

Theresa If I ever get sunshine I will share with you, promise. It is good to hear your daughter is improving, walking with a cane is great. Hope her WW experience is a good one and she can shed some of the pounds gained through inactivity. She might need some chair exercises, so she can work out some muscles without using the hip??

Cyn, I was wondering about how the teeth got lost also, do tell.

Tami, hope the family enjoys the baseball game tonight.

Broni, I had seen that poem before, and enjoyed seeing it again, Reminds us what is important.

My fingers are not going where I ask them to go today, so if any typos escape spell check, disregard please. I just realized that left hand is uncomfortable making some reaches on keyboard today, that is why of the typos I am sure. Stupid Thumb!! Let me find my Voltaran gel and my fingerless glove .

Hugs to all, with extras.

MizT, my daughter does do chair exercises. She also goes on her stationary bike, but only half rotations, back and forth.

I can understand the frustration with your thumb. My right shoulder and upper arm has been aching a lot the last few weeks. I have even been unable to knit - half a row of knitting and the pain is horrific. Must get to the doctor, but I have a feeling it's arthritis. The cold weather and all the rain hasn't been helping.

Rolanda, what would a holiday be without washing and unpacking to look forward to - Oh, I know, what kids get all the time!!

Broni, that is brilliant. You guys are all part of my dash.

Cyn, your friend should have stayed in bed for days!! I suspect the car, laptop and teeth were all indirectly related to the hospital trip. Hugs to her and hope people are looking after her...

Cyn, I keep looking for the 'like' button.

Brenda, I will have to google the peak district. I have vague memories of you and Heidi talking about it, but they are very vague and probably wrong. Complex family doesn't cover half of it!

Theresa, great news about your daughter's progress. Grumpy weather coming up though.

Brenda, is your news completely full of Friday? Here they are talking more about security than weather. I can't imagine marrying into the royal family - it would be so much to adjust to, starting with the fascination with what you wear, where you go, how much you spend, to what you said... and then there are the traditions and formalities and codes.. aaahhh!

This one made me think of Theresa's daughter. I thought I sounded expensive so I did the calculations and it would take over 13 years (with no interest) to save the amount paid out at the cost given.

Nasty, nasty thunderstorm just went through - heavy rain and water is covering the road outside because the storm sewer can't keep up.

Storm is coming back - gotta get off the computer. It's almost time to get the grandies to bed.

There is a big tornado in the area..... the Magnolia siren just went off telling people to take cover. I checked it's path and it won't go over us, fortunately. But it IS due to hit the farm of some friends of ours.

Rolanda,
Hope the rain lasts a little longer, washes things off and maybe even adds a little water to the dams. Of course it has to happen on a day you have to be out and about - but I think it's worth it!

Theresa and Heidi, I don't think you guys need the rain like Rolanda does so I hope yours calms down very soon.

Heidi, I particularly hope that the tornado doesn't change direction too much, enough to miss your friend's farm, but not enough to start heading toward yours...

Heidi, I saw that T storm on radar, it looked nasty. I do hope the tornado is not on the ground. there have been just too many deaths and too much damage from weather this spring. Do come back and let us know what is going on there.

This line of storms is a huge blob up north of us, but with a tail that hangs down back to the west. Odd kind of shape. We will get some of that tomorrow and tomorrow night. check it out here. Heidi is about half way between Nashville and Louisville.

http://www.wunderground.com/radar/mixedcomposite.asp?region=c4&size=2x&ID=BMX19

Could be a long night for Kentucky with those storms coming through. This system has a history of big powerful destructive tornadoes. Sending good weather wishes to Heidi.

HEIDI, did you see this story??? I thought about you when I read it.

MANHATTAN, Mont. (AP) - Cow-a-bunga! A black Angus cow in Montana is the proud mother of triplet calves.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports Cow No. 403 at Lance and Erika Chaney's ranch near Manhattan gave birth Monday to three, 40-pound calves.

The two females and male are all healthy.

Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine says the odds of a beef cow having triplets are one in 105,000 births, with longer odds that all three survive.

And Lance Chaney says the cow is nursing all of them, which is rare.

He's a fourth-generation rancher who oversees about 300 Angus cows year-round and several hundred of their offspring each spring. Chaney says the family ranch has had plenty of twins before but never triplets.

Just checking in with a Gekko and a Good EARLY Morning!

Sorry I missed you, Broni (my last night, your yesterday afternoon, I think.

The sandals I got are from Finn Comfort. They have a "rocker" bottom" (like MBT, FitFlops, Skecher Shape-Ups, or Reebok EasyTone) and a cork insole much like an orthotic. I'm hoping I'll be able to handle them for hours, so just wearing them around the house to try them out.

Broni, that's a great story about the "dash." I hope Pete likes it! We're thinking of him as he waits for Friday to come - and go.
