Mama, thanks for sharing the tribute to your niece, it seems she was held in high regard by her coworkers. she was a very special person.

MizT.... She still is a special person. She still lives on in the people she saved through organ donation, and in the hearts of all who loved her.

No more calves, and nobody in hard labor, so I'm gonna feed and water the birds and head off to bed.

Mamacita, what a beautiful tribute! Something that will be wonderful to watch over time when the memory is not quite as raw..

Heidi, we had neighbours who let their goats get out and they got multiple fines... They don't live there anymore, thank goodness.

Broni, thank goodness you don't have carpets, at least I don't think you have (m)any.

Broni, so glad you still have the other car. I hope the problem with the new one is easily fixed.

I haven't been here for a few days because things got really hectic. I worked wed and fri, thursday I spent in town because I had an appointment with the physio and for an ecg. Friday night we drove to Sydney to take Alie and her friend to see Ed Sheeran (Alie's Xmas present). Hubby and I went into China town for dinner... we got back after 2am. I barely got out of bed on Saturday. I've been kind of slothful today too. Though I did kooc dinner, an almost never thing for me.

Sudokuaholics everywhere!

Bean, I hope things are going better and you are feeling a bit more organized (my word, not yours). The massages sound wonderful, as is your idea to provide a service to patients coming for treatments. I hope you were able to enjoy a noisy and smoke-free day! It's a shame you weren't able to meet Nola.

Nola, I hope you are enjoy a relaxing holiday! Have a wonderful week!

Heidi, I hope you get complete satisfaction, including free return of the wrong cage and free expedited delivery of the correct cage from the person who sold the cage to you! I hope the calving continues to go well! I hope the goats don't cause any problems for you since IH brought them to your farm. Does he expect you to 'baby-sit' them and keep them out of trouble? I'm glad they didn't actually cause any accidents or harm to people.

CynB, the story of the pigeon at your MIL's burial was so touching. Sometimes things are just meant to be.

MizT, I hope the bug will soon be completely gone and also hope you experience more (and longer) pain-free moments!

Since you asked about the puppy, MizT, I'll answer some of your questions. She is a 10-month-old miniature schnauzer and weighs 14.25 pounds, but seems 'tall' for a miniature schnauzer. SIL leaves for work at 6 a.m. and gets home around 5 p.m.; D leaves later, but 1 day a week has an hour (at least) commute each way to teach a 2-hour class after she finishes her regular work. It's longer than the puppy can stay crated up at home and longer than they'd like for her to be in puppy day care. The train and cab takes about an hour (express train) to 1.5 hours each way. We're retired, like the puppy, and enjoy the excuse to see D almost every week (until she leaves for work). When she lived in Texas, we only saw her 4 or 5 times a year. I take newspapers, magazines or a book (or homework for musicianship class) with me; hubby usually has a nap or two while we're there (and enjoys going to 'Burrito Beach' - a fast food restaurant nearby - for his lunch).

Mama, my thoughts are with you and your family. What a wonderful tribute to your niece! And what a special person to donate her organs, including a kidney to her cousin a while ago.

Broni, you must be very frustrated that Bella was allowed to make such a mess. I hope it won't be repeated! I also hope the battery situation with the new car can be straightened out. What a relief that you still have the other car!

Theresa, I hope you, your hubby, your D and grandies are all OK and things are settling down with your ILs.

Suzy, we have missed you, so it's good to know that you absence was just due to a very busy schedule! Hopefully you can catch some extra sleep somehow!

It's just past midnight, so time to say, 'Good Night.' I'm sending along a large supply of healing vibes, positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and for all of you!

TEN hours with no posts, that must be a record!

Good morning friends, it is a cold windy sunny day here today. A repeat from yesterday. I made ham and potato soup yesterday, it sure was good. I will have to put some away in freezer for later, soup, well it is hard to make just a little soup hehehe.

I need to get dressed, not sure why, but just seems the thing to do at 10 am hehehe. I should go out today, small errand, I need to replace my phone card. I have one of the pay by the month prepaids from Wal Mart. cheapest way to go, a bit inconvenient to have to pick up a card a month. I could buy online, but they store my credit card info, no thank you.

Thursday I paid my bills with online banking, but I think there was some malfunction, it did not go through. DRATS. that means one of the bills will be late and I get to pay a late fee and it was not my fault!

Hope now that I repaired the site, others will hop on and post today. Love to each of you, with extras. Till later.

Poor MizT. I think it's about time for things to go well for you. I hope getting your new home didn't use up all your good luck.

Out in a few to do a cow check. IH and Don are still moving goats around. I KNOW IH doesn't expect me to babysit his goats. He's learned the hard way that if I get a complaint that they're out, I don't bring 'em back alive. I bring 'em back so they never get out again. I used to be a lousy shot, but thanks to an irresponsible goat owner, and obnoxious goats, I'm now a very good shot. One shot from my 22 at 30 yards, and they drop, not feeling a thing.

Good morning. Had a good day at Belinda's although a lot of water about and full dams everywhere.
Got cought in a sudden shower of rain between the car park and the hospital last night. Gave us something to laugh about when we saw MIL. She seemed better last night. Bleeding seems to have stopped but BP is all over the place and being off the blood thinners is also a worry. At the moment she would just like to get home.
Some one is coming to look at the computer today (the person who we bought it from and who installed it. Over the phone she thought it may be the electrical connection. I do hope she does not want to take it away.) At the moment I am on Hubby's computer but I also have a note book. The thing is all my emails and a lot of my contact info is on my machine.

Hi all. Time flies. I didn't realize it has been a few days since I have been here. I quickly read the three pages of posts that I missed. I saw Mama's loss on TOS and saw the tribute there. It was a beautiful tribute.

Heidi, glad that calving season is going well. I laughed at the goats. I have no doubt you will shoot one if it gets loose. I would love to see IH's face if you do have to do that.

Baseball season has started here. Dylan is enjoying it. The team is decent, but will improve as the season progresses. I really like the parents this year. It is the friendliest bunch I have had to deal with yet. Should make for an enjoyable season.

I do need to ask for a prayer request. My friend David had a major stroke on Friday. He has two daughters. His older one is 15. The younger one is turning 13 on Wednesday and her Bat Mitzvah is on Saturday. It is going to be a hard time for the family. He is doing well. His wife posted on facebook that he will have to learn to walk, talk and eat again. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts. He is a few years younger than me.

Tami, my thoughts are with David and his family! I wish him stubbornness and a refusal to believe he will be anything but normal again... it will help him when things feel bad.

Which reminds me, I didn't tell you about my appointment with the physio. I mostly feel like a fraud because I can do everything it just feels harder. She showed me that I'm not a fraud and has given me exercises to do.. it was good to know that I wasn't being a hypochondriac.

Hi All,
Things are settling down a bit here...I have to go to the hospital on Wednesday to have a procedure done with the gall bladder drain...nothing unusual, this must be done every 6-8 weeks, but requires the use of anesthesia. I'm looking forward to this visit because I'm having a lot of pain from the incision area...changing the bandages and stuff that must be done on a regular basis seems to make it move and become hurtful...Will talk to the medical team to see if something can be done to avoid this pain...It's most uncomfortable where ever I move..so you know I can't just not move, sit, stand, etc...Oh well. I can do this if Heidi does all that she does with her bum back at least until Wednesday....but this pain has to go.
Thanks again to all of you for your comforting words and prayers, as well as the hugs that were all most welcomed by my family as well as myself as we take this journey of journeys together. A memorial will be held sometime after Easter, so we have time to gather ourselves before our final good-bye. Again. many thanks...

Mama - hope the procedure works and eases your pain.
Tami - my good healing thoughts
going out to David. I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. Too young for such a thing to happen.
Suzy - you are no fraud, you are amazing.
Heidi - I love calving season, it's always a joy to hear each day of new calves.
June - glad your computer problem is, or will be, sorted.
Julie - busy as usual, I see!
MizT - You don't need to be dressed by 10am if you don't want to. Sometimes I realise that I haven't showered/dressed by that time. I always worry that someone will come to the door. The other morning about 9am, my neighbour phoned to say he'd left his laptop on his driveway - too much to put in the car at once - and could I see if it was still there. I had to walk out my front door, down to the footpath and up his driveway to retrieve it - in my nightie. Thankfully I saw no-one, nor did any cars come past. Phew!!

Hello friends! :)
Thank you so much for all the kind, happy thoughts. They really made me feel great. We went out to lunch on Sunday and had a lovely time, then back home for the presents ... very nice! Lots of lovely plants from the kids (hope I don't kill them all!) and all kind of lovely things.
Rob hasn't been feeling the greatest, so he's had to take a few days off ... some nasty bug. :(
I did something to my foot a while ago, and it seems to be taking ages to get better, so I ended up at the doctor's - seems I have to stay off it as much as possible, on pills for a week, and if that doesn't work ... an injection into the bottom of my foot. Ouch! Meanwhile I seem to have emptied every cupboard, thrown out anything that isn't nailed down, even given away stuff that's been here for 20 years! (D2 will try to make something with some of it) Oh, and I seem to be putting on weight like it's going out of fashion ... those steroids are NOT my friend! Still, the house is pretty clean, and I've found quilts and kits I haven't seen for years ... maybe I'll get to make some of them soon ... of course I will! :D

Tami, thoughts and prayers going out to David and his family. I hope his recovery is speedy and complete. Good luck to Dylan and his baseball team this season.

JUNE, hope the new mother board gets your computer up and running smoothly again. I did enjoy the soup again today, still cold, sunny and windy here. More winter here in March than we had in January, go figure. I was happy to hear that MIL was better yesterday, hope that continues.

SUZY, glad the therapist set you straight. No, you are never a fraud or hypochondriac. Do your exercises, keep doing them till they are no longer hard, you will make it.

Heidi, why am I not surprised that Gil did not see the calf when he made his supposed cow check. I have a new name for him, Goofus, it seems to suit. OH, I did get the electronic bill pay to work today, they are listed under 'pending' and will be sent out tomorrow, and perhaps the bill in question might get to them within the grace period, I hope so. The late fee is not too much, just hate paying those.

I went to Wal Mart this afternoon. Only thing I really needed was a phone card, my cell is a pay as you go kind, but while there, I picked up some celery to make more chicken salad. I have become addicted to it, with grapes, celery, dried cranberries and walnuts. Delish in a sandwich or just with a couple of nice crackers. I wandered back into garden department, found myself an African violet just beginning to bloom, lots of buds on it. Mine are not blooming, I need to get the grow light installed over sink, where I keep them. They are huge, lush green plants, just not enough light for blooms. I also got a baby Jade Plant, for my green stuff in the window. I have a flower pot that I had bought at thrift store, 69 cents verses $5 new. It needed a plant. My story, anyway. I also got 'findings' to assemble some more magnetic clasps for my short length necklaces. I need to make up a couple to send to one of my quilting buddies, she is always doing something for others. I happen to know she needs a couple of them, might be something I can do this week.

tomorrow is doc appointment, long drive, but until I get my power chair, I do not want to change docs. It has taken 6 months already, do not want to have to start over with a new doc on board. Should hear something in the next 2 weeks, cross fingers for me please.

Off to bed, see if I can find a comfy spot to get to sleep. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till tomorrow.

JUDY, CYN and Mama, your posts were not showing last night when I posted, so please do not think I was ignoring you.

MAMA, I do hope the docs can help you with the pain issue. Pain for any reason is not something we should have to deal with unassisted, there is much that can be done for pain now. Sending good wishes to get you through till your appointment.

JUDY, I do think I somehow failed to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY. It sounds you had a great day without my wishes, so, have these as extras hehehe. What kind of quilt kits do you have? Any of them already started? I found 2 unfinished quilts when I packed up my sewing room. One was a cute boy quilt, with snowmen dressed as first responders, I need to finish it and give to my grandson. Some day. Steroids do give you a lot of energy, and unfortunately seem to attract pounds. but we still love you, fluffy or slim.

CYN, I can picture it now, you senaking down the drive in your nighty, too funny.

OK, need my coffee and to get started on what must be done fore I leave today. I came to the puter to check weather, but somehow I was here instead. I am sure that only happens to me

Our sun is missing today, but it should be warmer, perhaps a bit of rain. I do not like driving in rain, but we do not always get our druthers.

Hugs, with extras, till later.

I really must have needed sleep. I was up late, doing a late cow check, but I think I fell asleep around 3 am. At 9 am, the mailman woke me up with some packages. Then I fell asleep again, and didn't wake up until 3 pm. Now I NEED to go check the cows.

Had a scare when I went out to check the cows. One of the little bull calves had tried to jump into a hay ring and had gotten one of his hind legs entangled. I found him unmoving, hanging from the leg, and looking dead. Fortunately, he was still breathing. So I got him freed from the feeder and back on his feet. Once he moved, his mama came running back, bellowing loudly. When I last looked, the calf was happily nursing.

Uneventful trip down to the doc, the sun came out, no rain today, it was postponed till tonight and tomorrow. suits me just fine.

I hope to get out to the pool tomorrow, if the rain holds off. They empty the pool for thunder. I would like to go hang a while.

Heidi, so glad the calf was OK once freed from the hay ring. I know that was a scare for you. Silly little bull, he had no need for hay this early.

ROLANDA, glad to hear you had a nice weekend away in the caravan. I read just yesterday the reason a holiday away from home was so refreshing, it removed us from all our accumulated stuff, and the too much stuff was stressful.

JUNE, hope you had a good day against the strong team, and that weather was not too humid. I am sure your team did the best they could today.

I had such a late lunch today, I am looking for something light for dinner. Might make that chicken salad, that sounds good to me. Then back to the recliner for a rest. Think about all the stuff doc wants to test or schedule for me. Perhaps an epidural for the back, to reduce some of the pain load. I must find someone up here who does those, so not to have so far to drive. He also wants to do a sleep study. Now, I am not sure I could sleep with that apparatus, if that is what a sleep study shows, but they seem to think I have enough symptoms that could be from sleep apnea, including increased blood pressure. We will see. anyone sleep with the CPAP machine??

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till tomorrow.

It has taken me until today to get back.. so not good.
Heidi a post I directed to you after saying goodnight isn't here.. I must have have used some word that should have been censored. Its all history now! Glad the calving is moving along for you at what seems to be a cracking pace.

Saturday didn't of course work out as planned. I got a call in the morning asking if I could sit with/ keep an eye on my neighbour until the cavalry arrived at 4pm. I bounced back and forwards across the road doing washing etc but didn't turn the music up in case I didn't hear her call... Need t5o head over there tomorrow & fill her in on my appointments for the week.. Thursday is now the only day that I can help out.
I'm missing a cousins funeral tomorrow because I may be big enough to fill two pairs of shoes but I cannot be there and with my sister at the neurologist.

Haven't had enough sleep last night. I inadvertently hurt a friend deeply by not having my mind on the game. I've been very teary today because of it. Feeling a lot of grief over this .. the type I haven't felt for a while.

Going out to buy another diary... I forgot to do so something I said I would do and our friendship has really taken a retrograde step. My friends are important to me and I wouldn't knowingly hurt any of them. Problem is I think my brain was wired by the maestro.. of what I'm not sure. At times it certainly appears that it wasn't the 'how not to upset people' type of wiring.

The hot weather doesn't help!

Mama.. that was a wonderful tribute.

So glad that there have been a few lulls and quiet periods here.
I am now up to date.. but too tired to recall what I was going to comment on.
Tami.. healing thoughts on their way. Suzy's wish for him is the best.. WTG. It is good to see your posts & to read things are on the up & up for the boys. How are your parents?
Good catch Heidi.. tough little critters at times!
Judy hope that next week I will have an empty spot to head out Nunawading way.. will ring.
Tricia I am off to buy some celery and walnuts.. I like the sound of that salad.
Suzy.. I 2nd the other comments. Stick at it and no second doubts.
Off to brave the heat and pay some bills.
Hope I don't melt.. feel sick already.. stress & grief? Hopefully nothing more.

Heidi..I agree with Broni..good catch.
Suzie..just to make more noise, I'm adding my voice to all of those saying that you are simply awesome...so get over the dumb stuff already. Tami, I also am praying for your friend and his family that he will have the best possible of outcomes. Judy, sounds like you had a great time celebrating..wonderbar. June, know you and your team did well..how well doesn't really matter as long as you gave it your all....and all of you must do that in this type of hot, humid weather.
Cyn...I had a special message for you, but darn if I can remember what it was since I was distracted writing..doesn't take much to go blank.
MizT saved the last note for you..as always on DA we can find commonality...I sleep with the CPAC machine and oxygen..It took a few days and the threat of not getting out of the nursing home if I didn't learn to use it to become okay with it. There are different types of mask, some not too bad, that make it easier to sleep. I've also found a pillow that makes it more comfortable to move about while sleeping w/o the mask slipping. Google the equipment and you're get an idea of what's out there, but medicare assumed the cost of mine...the pillow however was at my expense...hope you get it since it has helped me sleep better and I'd like you to enjoy that too....Okay folks...have a great day down under and a good night topsiders. Peace.

Openly blubbering now...
This round of chemo & radiation is really taking it out of my neighbour. They have admitted her to hospital.. I will go in on Thursday to see her.
We all need to be careful what we wish for.. her husband has been wanting to downsize for a while.. she of course had no desire to leave in other way than the proverbial ###...
This woman has been like a second mother to me...
I came home on Saturday with vases and recipe books... she is decluttering and sorting out all her stuff so her husband doesn't have to do it..

Sorry for the vent but I REALLY needed to let of steam.
