Hey eaa!!

Dana is learning some more mother lessons. A baby born on the same night as Tahli, though a day earlier birthday has had a seizure. They think he has a brain infection. Against all odds he had the seizure while in a hospital with a doctor and nurse in the room. That never happens! They have their problems when you're alone with them and you are trying to describe it while people look at you pityingly with the 'another overprotective mother' look. Anyway, I think Dana is holding Tahli a little closer today.

Home again tired and sore. Helping with horses (and dog) is no longer my idea of fun. Up early and on the road before the sun was up.
Belinda got a first and two thirds with her horse. She will be taking two warm bloods to compete again tomorrow but I will not be there.
Laura got a first and a highly recommended with her art work.
We also had the dog dressed as a leprechaun but the dogs dressed with bought costumes won the prises.
There was a lot of walking today as well.
I do think I will sleep well tonight.

Good morning friends. It is a lovely day in the neighborhood today, warm, sunny. It was already 55 (12.7C)F when I got up this morning, heading for 75F(23.8C) I have my windows opened, cause sun is hitting them making it warm inside. Nice to have fresh air, I love having windows opened.

About to leave for pool, had a couple extra minutes, so had to drop in here.

JUNE, it sounds you had a very busy day at the fair. To bad judges were swayed my purchased costumes. Perhaps there should be 2 categories, purchased and home made? Congrats to both Belinda and Laura on the ribbons.

SUZY, it is hard seeing a child so ill, and the same age as your own child is worse. Lots of Mom lessons for Dana to learn.

Catch you again later, time to leave. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Good afternoon all,
A busy day in my neighborhood and will be leaving when I finish this post. Just wanted to all a good weekend and to let eea know she still has it indeed...way to go girl. As for the mommy lessons, Dana will get many as time goes on, but I agree with Broni...she'll be wise to follow her mom's teachings for a good investment. Suzy, you have and continue to do a great job...and you have many role models to learn from right here...check out how the older mums are still in there with their children...June,eea, viv, theresa, cyn, and on and on...and yes, I am including myself in that batch.
Heidi...ouch on your dental bill, but glad the discount helped you to get a little joy along with the needed work...I know you will enjoy the newest addition. My cold is still dogging me a bit, but I do see a tad of improvement and must make hay while the sun still shines...I'm off to do what a woman must do...shop for groceries...ugg...hate grocery shopping...sigh. Take care all..Peace.

MAMA, you and I both had renamed our friend eaa, hehehe. Sorry, my apologies, please forgive.

Water was wonderful, we had a great instructor again today, this was Kelly and she really helped us to get the correct movements down. Even though I know the room and the hall to locker room were acceptably warm, after being in the warmer than usual pool, thought I would freeze when the air hit my wet body! One moves much faster down that hall.

Such a beautiful day. Pear trees are blooming everywhere! there is a huge, very old pear in our garden here, lovely. I was getting out of the car in parking lot, which is adjacent to our walled garden, and there were a couple of petals fluttering down. This one does not appear to be a Bradford Pear, does not have the symmetry of branches, the perfect shape that all Bradford Pears have. Did you know that all Bradford pears are clones of one tree?? Yep, they are done from grafted cuttings, using an older variety pear tree for roots, cuttings from an adult Bradford. I hope there is never a disease that finds a weakness in Bradford pears, all of them would be gone.

I still have not seen any dogwood trees in bloom. they are going to have to hurry, Easter is only 2 weeks away.

I feel a nap coming on. the water today so relaxed me, it has put me to sleep. Some of my best naps have been after coming home from the pool.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

We're having the same delightful weather that you're having, MizT. It's in the 60's right now, with no wind. I just put out 9 rolls of hay (8 for cows, 1 for horses) and discovered a dead 8 day old calf. This breaks my heart. I can find no reason for the loss. It was a heifer calf.

The snow just stopped here ... for now. I am sooooo done with this white stuff. It's milder today at least, yesterday it was like -20C with the wind chill. I WANT SUMMER!

I have a stew in the crock pot. Then I just have to peel potatoes so I can make mashed potatoes for hubby to bring down to his dad on the weekend. I made a pot roast the other day, so one night they can have roast, mashed potatoes, corn, gravy and then another meal of stew.

One of our cats has to go to the vet tomorrow. Frasier has been throwing up. He is almost 12 years old and won't let anyone but me near him. He crawls on my lap at least once a day, puts his front paws on my left shoulder, and then sucks his right leg.

I had a nap this afternoon because my insomnia and nightmares continue. I wonder if Hollywood would like to use my dreams for some new movies???

Yesterday morning I was outside feeding the birds and squirrels before it was fully light out, and along came a skunk to visit. Didn't take me long to get back in the house. I didn't think they would be out just yet because of all the snow. Those little stinkers sure are cute.

Good morning all - hi and nice to see you eaa!
Didn't get here at all yesterday. Had to put my car in for a recall check yesterday (Prius - water pump) and spent the day with Karin at a big Westfield shopping centre. I swear we walked the length and breadth of it 3 times. I was exhausted when I got home.
Now today, I have the entire family, minus SonIL and Lachlan who are both working, coming for lunch. No special reason, just because we can. Col had to go to work this morning at 4am and drive to Ballina, NSW for 2 deliveries. No rest for the wicked. He'll be home in an hour or so.
Just as a sideline for we people who are getting older - when my daughter collected me from the car service place she was in her hubby's Toyota Land Cruiser - nothing more ungainly than me trying to get up into that thing!! Getting out was easy, I just slid to the ground, hahaha.

I had a good sleep (nice to be in my own bed and without a grand daughter who wanted to sleep with grandma and took up 3/4 of the double bed).
Up early to make a very decadent dessert. (hazelnut Kalua cake). One slice has enough calories for about two days. Taking it to a 90 birthday party. A chap I worked with many years ago and quite a character.

Tahli said her first sentence today 'Here I am'. Yes, she was playing hide and seek with her mum. It's fun to play with her she ducks down behind a lounge or something and then either pops up or sneaks a peak, which is our cue to call out 'There she is'. When it's our turn we cover our eyes with our hands and opening them say 'Here I am'... Today she said 'here I am' before mum could say 'there she is'.

Just a quick visit to say hello! I entered on page 612 and see that eaa has been for a visit. Sorry I missed you, but seems there's some excellent news!

No time to stay. We finally finished gathering/organizing for taxes and delivered the material to the tax man. Our appointment is in 2 weeks. Now I can get back to sufficient cello practicing. Tomorrow is day 76 of the 100-day challenge.

Sending all the {{{{{{ H U G S }}}}}}. prayers, healing vibes and positive thoughts I can gather for everyone!

Cyn, Broni's new car is like that. You climb up into it! Luckily it has what my Uni friends used to call an eff bar (different to the old sh** strap) that I used to haul myself up in there. Nice once you're in though.

In case you can't work out why they were called that, it's all about what is happening when you feel the need to grab the bar as a passenger in a car and what you say or think when grabbing it. I'm not sure what they are really called.

June, I'm envious of your good sleep (and your hazelnut Kahlua cake, but don't let me go there). I don't know what they are anymore. Most nights I fall asleep around 9.30 but by 12.30 I'm up again sitting in front of the TV hoping I'll at least doze the rest of the night. Last night I didn't even manage the first bit, just doze on and off all night. When I saw a friend this morning she told me I looked like cr@p. Nice, huh?

Theresa, your SIL must appreciate you cooking even if you FIL is not capable of it anymore. I know I think you're pretty special for doing it. Your nightmares sound like the ones I had when on the patch. I reckon I could have made a fortune if I could have written them down and put them in a book. Unfortunately I don't think yours have such a mundane origin. Hugs and thoughts..

Mamacita, I hope your cold is better by the time you read this.

MizT, your posts cheer me up. Your descriptions are vivid and show the beauty that is easy to miss if one is in a hurry to get places.

Hi all.
We are back home after having a great time in Tasmania, Sydney and Taree. Very tired as we caught the train overnight to Brisbane and then a coach to Gympie where we picked up the car. The train line is still not being used all the way north because of the floods.
Sonny was glad to see us.
I will read more and write tomorrow after some sleep.
Thanks for arranging the gathering June and to all who attended. Gee it was nice.
Bye for now.

I got up early today because men were supposed to be here at 8:30 am to spray the pastures to kill the buttercups (they choke out grass an are poisonous to livestock). At 9:00 am, they called to say that they don't have enough product, so they won't be here today. So I'm heading back to bed.

Morning ......

Back from the vet. Frasier had blood work done (over $300 worth). He is a bit jaundiced and his thyroid is a bit swollen. He could have pancreatitis, liver disease, FIV, or even the big 'C' ... they will have the results Tuesday or Wednesday. He was a brave little boy. Fingers crossed.

Off to get the groceries in a few minutes, and then hubby will go down to see his dad and mom and spend the night there. Hope to be back later. Hugs all around.

Good Morning all
Happy Birthday Bobbi
Happy St Patrick's Day to those who celebrate. I won't even be wearing green, don't own much green and what I do is in the laundry. Ho Hum!
Nola - pleased you're home safely and that your car was still where you left it in Gympie. Glad you had a fun time and got to meet some Sudokuists.
Fingers crossed for Frasier, Theresa.
Suzy - thinking of Tahli having a few words while playing Hide and Seek brought back a lovely memory of Lachlan - he would run behind the couch/wall whatever and call out 'I hining'. He would have been a similar age.
I hope your friend's very tiny granddaughter continues to do well.
Hi also to June, Brenda, Julie, Heidi, Mama and Tricia and anyone else I've missed.

Theresa, hope you get good news from the vet - meaning the diagnosis is something fixable without breaking the bank.

Nola, welcome home! Holidays are great but in the end there is nothing like your own bed, and car.

Hello and hugs to all, especially those I haven't mentioned.

Broni - remember the time in your old car, which was also high to clamber into - we were all going to Coolangatta and we went to Logan Hyperdome to collect Kerrie and with her dickey hip, we had to swap sides, so she could struggle in, with impatient drivers lining up behind us. Hehehe!
