Slept through the morning (but I DID do a 3 am cow check), and feel like going back to bed now. It's cool and rainy today, unlike yesterday's warm and sunny. In fact, I think I WILL go back to sleep. It's the best use of my time I can think of. If I try to do any work, I'll just fall asleep on the job.

So many decisions ... sigh.

Do I swear some more or do I watch Antonio Banderas?

Do I start supper or do I watch Antonio Banderas?

Okay then, Legend of Zorro it is.

It's a good thing eye candy doesn't have any calories.

Hi folks...
I'm about to wave a banner .. slow down.. I want to get off... I can't keep up...
We are now past the middle of March.. how on earth do the days keep whizzing by faster than the last? I got up at 6:30 and did some gardening.. now I am about to grab another cuppa and snuggle up in bed with a book for an hour or so.. yes.. I said snuggle.. I had to rug up to go outside.. hallelujah!!!!!

Have just caught up and finished reading 610 so I am a tad out of date.
Brenda I hope Andrews hand is by now recovered enough that he can start resuming normal duties.
Tami I hope to find more good news about David as I keep reading.. I'm so glad an exception was made and video was allowed.

I haven't read yet, but have a funny story... Hubby is heavily involved in a sewer relining project - helped put together the contract, select tenders, and sometimes supervises them in the field. Last week we got notification in our mailbox that they might need to access our property. This morning they knock on the door, excuse me sir... I'm Mr Suzy - oh! Well all is cool then. They are using the manhole in our yard to do a bypass. BUT, the last time he spoke to them it was about a mess up with notifications - a lady was most upset about them wanting to access her property to do work - and they messed up ours! It's 5 days since they mail dropped us and it's only supposed to be 2!

That is a wonderful TOP+1 Julie [p611]

Tricia sounds like a wonderful party.. it is so good to get young'uns involved like that.

Heidi I'm sorry to hear that you lost a calf.. a bull calf at that.. thank goodness the cow managed to give birth after it died. Sepsis and resultant mortality is not good. Still happens occasionally in humans. Glad you didn't comment on folk that let animals stray.. wink wink.. hehe

June wonderful shot of the attendee's at the Nola meet. Thank you. It is so good to see a new face.. welcome Lizzie.

Mama .. nothing feels quite as good as a little beanspeak at times.. some times you just have to say dangit and get the words out and too bad if no one understands. I understand.. Travel update... I think Lachie and Jai will be crossing the pond around the time I was hoping to head over .. Jai hates the cold and so it will be good for her to be home for summer and miss our winter. There is no way I could be organised before then... have another 2 weddings to attend..

Forgotten what else I've read on this page.
Good to see you here Theresa.. hope things are working out for FIL at home.

Brenda..I need to keep reading to see if a couple of days rest has enabled some healing to take place..

Cyn I'm sure Bonny would have been a truly beautiful dog with a cross like that.
Our pups were a one off.. German shepherd and Maremma [Italian shepherd] and they are incredibly gentle, smart, loving and attentive. They can also be VERY noisy.. they do NOT have a little dogs bark..

Heidi chicken with wild rice soup sounds yummy and a recipe you should be sharing.. hint.. hint..

Yeehaa... Eaa is back...
Time to turn a page...

Good afternoon friends, Party Girl Tricia here. We had another party today, for St Patrick's Day. A small dance group came and did some traditional Irish jigs and reels. They were very good. Nice practice for them, they will be going to competition with these dances later in the year. then we had a local piano player, he is connected with the armature theater group, that is how our activities director Jan knew him and got him to come play for us. We had a great sing along with him. Food was only so so, but just how much can you do that is GREEN? NO CAKE, you could always get a green cake. We had a small green cookie instead.

Not as sunny today, also not quite as windy. I walked about the front garden area today, several shrubs have buds, I thought they were azaleas, but the buds are not typical. We shall see once they bloom out. There is a huge maple leaf geranium leafed out, the Pear trees across the street are glorious, huge clouds of white. Two directly across, and about 5 more up the intersecting street. I think I mentioned we have one in the back garden.

I did find something green to wear today. summer weight knit slacks and long sleeved jacket, cream colored shirt. There were all shades of green worn by the residents.

I managed to drop my cell phone and it broke into 3 pieces. Easy enough to find the back and front, but the battery went missing! Several people helped me look for it, and only after people left our table and I moved it, did I find it. Table has one center leg, and a crossed brace at the floor level, rests on 4 button tabs the four ends. Tiny space under the brace, about 1/4 inch. It had slid into that hiding place. One of my friends put it back together for me, her hands work better than mine.

I should look to see if I still have my photos, sometimes having battery out can erase such, just thought of that, oh dear. YEAH, they appear to be still there, whew.

Time to close the windows, and go warm up the beef stew. Joy is coming over tonight for dinner. I think I figured why she has not been over in so long, I have not cooked for her hehehe. As soon as I said come to dinner she said sure can hehehe.

I did read, forgot what I read, will catch up on those tomorrow. When Bean talked about our previous party, the birthday party last week, reminded me I needed to report in on today's party. Know I thought about you, and will again when I read again tomorrow. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

p 613 and a few more interruptions.. getting there..
Hope you are feeling better Mama.. you've only got 2 pages left to do it in..

Ahh Suzy.. the highs and lows of parenting. Somehow we don't seem to appreciate what we have until it is snatched away or in Dana's case.. how lucky she is that Tahli is healthy.. convulsions are such scary things to contend with as a mother. The things that go through your mind defy description. The first sentence.. how exciting!! Mega cute.. stowed away for perpetuity on video I hope.

Glad you made it home safely Nola.

Just realised I missed St Patrick's day.. I always pay homage to my ancestry in at least thought.
Hope you had an enjoyable anniversary Suzy.

Yesterday I went over to do my neighbours dressing and stayed for a chat. She isn't even half way through this round of chemo/radiation and her treatment site is not looking very happy.
Could you please send some healing and caring thoughts out into the ether for an extremely special woman. I didn't see Margaret last week with every day of my week full of appointments. It causes me physical pain to see her suffering. I think I need to toughen up.. going soft in my old age.

Jai is going to come in and film our choirs Harmony day performance on Thursday.. I'll be able to share it with her then.. she will enjoy it. My choir master said that she was mostly responsible for his career turning down that path.. he now has 6 choir groups [I think]
I hope my sore throat doesn't get any worse between now and then.

Woohoo..page 214!!!!
oh oh..raining again..
The garden needs it.. glad I got some pruning done early.. don't enjoy working outside in the rain.
Jai set off for the supermarket a while ago.. in shoes that still hadn't dried out after Saturdays deluge.. I hope she isn't copping it again. She has mastered making chocolate mug cakes.. now I need to get the recipe now that it has been fine tuned to perfection.

Went to Geelong on Friday night.. stayed with my best friend and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Went to another friends 60th birthday on the Sat night. It was at a Chinese restaurant. They also run karaoke so as you can imagine I sang my head off and had a wonderful time
It is always good to get home to your own bed.. and best friend. Zoe always gives me such a welcome.. miss her so much when I am away from home.

Time to get back to work.
Maybe I could fit just a little bit of my book...
Have wonderful day everyone.
Love you all.

Sorry I can't share the recipe, Bean. The soup is made by a company called Schwan's. They don't sell in stores.... they drive around the countryside and sell door to door. This soup is really thick... more like a stew... with a cream-of-chicken-soup base, large chunks of chicken and lots of wild rice. The company is based in Minnesota where the wild rice is cheap. It's the best soup I've ever tasted. One container feeds two ravenous people.

Happy St. Patty's day to all.

My mom says thanks for all the birthday wishes. She had a chance to read them in her inbox. She doesn't go online very often.

David is doing a little better. Each day is a baby step towards his goal. He has to relearn how to walk, talk and eat. His wife and two daughters, as well as the rest of the family visit him often and that is helping, as is all the prayers. Judy (his wife) says thank you for keeping him in your thoughts.

I just lost a collie. To make it worse, I had to put her down myself. Lady was the oldest of the rescues, and her health has been failing for a while. I've been thinking about taking her into the Vet to let her go to sleep comfortably. A little while ago, she started convulsing, with lots of blood coming out her back end. She was in agony. The closest Vet open now is an hour's drive away. At her age (15) she wasn't ever going to fully recover if a Vet could help her. The kindest thing was to end her pain as fast as possible. So I did. But it's a hard thing to do.

Hi, Everyone!

Look who started page 614 for us! When I type eaa, the computer self corrects to 'ear' or 'eat' I have to trick the computer for it to allow 'eaa.' (I type 'baa', finish typing the sentence, the go back and change the 'b' to an 'e'.

Heidi, I'm glad you are listening to your body and sleeping when you need to! I'm so sorry to hear about Lady! We know it was not a decision you made lightly and that you did what was best for Lady. {{{{HUGS}}}} and You were able to share some good years together.

Bean, I completely agree with you that time is simply flying by. Maybe it's because of being so busy. The year is almost 1/4 through already. It just shows how important it is to let the people you love know how important they are in our lives and to find something you really love and find the time to do it. I'm sending some healing thoughts and vibes for your friend.

Tricia, you have certainly become the party girl! I really enjoy hearing about the activities provided for the residents!

Hi, Midge! So glad you were able to pop in. How are things going for you?

I've read, but my mind is a sieve. Guess maybe I need to get some sleep. So, I'll call it a night here and send along a good supply of positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for everyone!

Heidi, has the rain ended for you? Has not got here, it is on such a north east to south west angle, just starting in north west counties. If we get rain, will be early evening or later. Just dull, cloudy grey, overcast, windy and oh so humid. I have windows opened, fan on, but still so sticky with sweat all under. I might have to turn on AC, but in MARCH?

I have two programs to go downstairs for, one on nutrition, one is a dance group, young girls taking dance lessons, coming to do Irish Dances for us. I need to go and get ready, make myself presentable.

Broni, agree with you on asking Julie to tell us more about what she is doing, but how about you too? what is going on in your world?

JULIE, That is so funny, we might have to call eaa EAR now hehehe I imagine it can be very frustrating for it to do that. I am so glad I do not have the self correct on my puter. It politely underlines words for me, then gently offers suggestions IF I ask. My sister makes some totally unintelligable posts, because of the auto correct on her smart phone. She tells us they are correct before she hits 'send' but something happens somewhere. I give up on reading some of her FB posts cause of it.

I am off to be informed and entertained today, better than doing my laundry, my other choice for today hehehe.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Thank you, everybody, for your kind words of support. It makes it easier to hear from others that I did the right thing, even though my heart tells me I did.
Lady had been here for a few years. When she arrived here, she was a walking skeleton, with the worst overbite I've ever seen. It didn't take long before she was fat as a tick. Whenever I sat at the 'puter, she would sleep next to me, with her head resting on my right foot. At night, she slept on the floor as close to my head as she could get. That way, I could stretch out my hand and pet her during the night. I truly believe she was very happy here.

What a full day we had today. You should have been here to see the dance troupe that came to perform for us today, they were fabulous. The instructor and 2 of the girls had on costumes that combined cost about $5,000!! They were custom made in Ireland, and such applique and beading and jewels you have never seen! These young ladies were involved in Irish Dance competitions. For individual dancing, they could wear a costume of their liking, so they had these made. Each was very unique, with their favorite colors. One had a huge dragon from neck to skirt, on the front. Just fantastic work. No young men this time, and during the question period, someone asked why. It seems these students are from a variety of scattered local schools. The girls were the members of the troupe who attend schools that were taking spring break this week. The boys in their dance troupe all attend schools that will take spring break later.

After this was over, We had a young lady from a local new grocery, similar to Whole Foods or some such. Everything is organic, nothing in the store is made with any artificial sweetener, or no artificial flavorings, no dyes. Everything was 'natural' or organic. I asked what they meant my 'natural' and all I got back was 'pure'. but she brought samples! We had a maple cream cookie that was made using maple syrup, way to sweet for my liking. then some date bars, I think she said just ground dates rolled in cocoanut, those were delish! they some dried pomegranate, I am nibbling on a couple of slices now, there was enough she invited us to take some home with us.

So, I was down for 2 hours for that, and then was invited to come play Rumeyque, we could only get 3 together for a table. Into our second game, the storm hit, same storm that left Heidi with 3 inches of rain. Lots of wind, lightning with accompanying thunder. Then the lights went out! Now we had been told there was emergency generators here, but must be small, I saw only 2 lights in all of the first floor. We were near windows, could see to play most of the time, except for green and blue, we had 2 places where those were mixed together, like mixing suits in a card game . I had my flashlight with me, a small one, had put it in the basket of my walker back some time ago. So we used that to check colors hehehe.

By then I had been downstairs for 3 hours, a record for me, and begged off the game because I was hurting and came upstairs. there was one elevator working. If it had not been mid afternoon, would have been very dark in some areas of the hall getting back to apartment. But apartment with my 2 huge windows was plenty light, and I had lots of flame-less candles, those led push lights, and flashlights, for use after dark. Lights were out for 3 hours, we were lucky to get them back as quickly as we did, there were 190,000 people in Jefferson County without power! Crews from other states were coming in to help! We must be on the priority list. We are just down

Figured that would be too long for my page. Here is the remainder.

We must be on the priority list. We are just down the street from a major hospital, if we are on the same circuit, of course they would be highest priority and we get to go along for the ride.

I had just last week ordered one of those LED lanterns for use when power out, but it has not arrived yet. Day late and dollar short, that is me hehehe.

A funny. One of the ladies said she was thirsty, no coffee in the kitchen coffee pot, so she went to the drink machine. she put in her money, pushed her selection, and could not understand why it would not work. It just needed what we were completely out of, electricity hehehe.

When I got to my apartment, I took a nice nap, woke feeling a LOT better. Lights came back on soon after that.

Well, that was my day today. Sending huge hugs to each of you, with extras. till later.

Good Evening from Illinois!

About to head to bed here, as we'll have second day in a row with early ophthalmologist appointment for hubby. He had a trauma-induced cataract removed about 10 or 12 years ago. (Nope, didn't know what the trauma was; maybe when he was hit in the face by a football in early days of coaching?) At the time, due to underlying issues he was sent to Cincinnati (Ohio) to a specialist for surgery not yet fully approved, just in testing stages. Maybe 5 years ago, one of the sutures came loose and the lens wouldn't stay in place. First attempt to repair the doctor (in Illinois) found the lens move when hubby was horizontal, so rescheduled to have a retina specialist assist. Now it's 'uveitis' or something like that with new lens causing inflammation, so doctor on call Sunday said come in first thing Monday. Hubby's doctor was in surgery, so another partner saw him, diagnosed, prescribed hourly drops (while awake) and had him schedule to see his regular ophthalmologist tomorrow morning. He was told this could lead to glaucoma and even possible blindness if not caught early. I'm a bit nervous, as he had similar symptoms in January when we had to use connecting flights to get to our destination. A call to the ophthalmologist's office then, and an assistant said he probably just had dry eyes and should use drops when flying in the future. Apparently, that was incorrect and we should have pushed for him to see his doctor then. He asked if I want to go into the examining room with him in the morning. So, off to bed so I can be alert for that and possibly being designated driver on the way home.

{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes and for everyone!

Hopefully I'll be able to give an update tomorrow.
