We're gonna need a LOT of luck and good wishes. I've programed in all the law enforcement phone numbers that I will need into my cell, for New Jersey and North Carolina. I still have a bunch of errands that I HAVE to do this morning before taking off. I didn't sleep well so this will be an interesting drive, to say the least. I'll need lots of coffee.

Hiedi, wishing you safe travels. I have a cell number for you. It ends in 64. I hope it is the correct one. I will try to call you and see how you are doing. Wishing all the best for Maxine and the baby.

TAMI, I was thinking of checking cell phone numbers with Heidi, so someone of us could contact her, could know what was going on, and keep the board informed. I am too late to do it, so glad you did. Do let us know when you hear from her. With all of us behind Heidi and Maxine, makes me want to say to boyfriend and local law enforcement, ' the Whole World is Watching'.

Hehe, Tricia - wouldn't he be surprised to know that there are many women he knows nothing of, out in cyber-space who do not like what he's doing and hope he gets caught, once and for all.

Hi all.
Heidi...I think all of us are more than concerned about your long drive when you are not well. The BF has really done it now. I hope with your help, that Maxine can get away and rebuild a new life for herself and baby. What a traumatic time she is experiencing.Bad enough that her Mum is so sick, baby kidnapped and the move on top of it.
You take care now!

Tami, yes, that is what I have for her cell phone number. You phone her tomorrow, I can try Friday if you want me too.

Home for just a bit, long enough to eat lunch and dress for the Easter Parade. Time to wear that hat I decorated. Home from what you ask? We had a group from Hoover Senior Citizen Center, a meeting place for seniors in that community. They call themselves The Song birds. Group of about 20 men and women who practice a couple days a week, and go out to area nursing homes, retirement communities and such, performing old show tunes and other oldies. We really enjoyed it, lots of fun.

OK, only 30 minutes to make myself beautiful, or as close as I gonna get, and get me self downstairs for the Easter Party.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. Till later

Wondering how Heidi is getting on with all that driving to do.
Finished our bowls on a high with a 5 point win today. It will now be nice to relax.
I have my sister coming to dinner tomorrow night. At least it will be cooler. It got to 32*c today.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Tricia, I am trying to figure out the best time to call Heidi. I know she won't answer when she is driving. I will try later today. I can call this week. Next week I am back in school so it will be harder for me. As long as one of us hears from her and can post an update, it should work.

Tami, there is no way to figure when is best time to phone Heidi, we have no way of knowing what is happening. As you said, she will not answer if driving, and probably not if something important is going on. I would just call, then you can ask when would be a good time for future calls

I do hope all is going well, that progress is being made. If it is possible, Heidi will get it done, she is not one to give up, we all know that.

Lovely spring morning, as long as you are inside looking out! Beautiful sunshine, no wind, blue sky, but a cold start today. It was below freezing this morning. Today starts a warming trend, and in the 10 day long range forecast, I see no further freezing mornings. The weather man did say he could not guarantee no more freezes, though.

I looked at the dogwood tree yesterday, up close and personal. The buds have barely opened, petals are still cupped, stiff and green with brown tips. Long way from their beautiful creamy white blossoms, but they are opened. 3 days till Easter, we will see how much more they open by then.

OH, the Easter Parade and party yesterday. Everyone who had a hat was hidden in the kitchen, then escorted by one of the gentlemen, in suit and tie. We 'paraded' around the front of the room, while Jan gave a running commentary and the audience applauds. There were certificates given for every imaginable category, one of those 'everyone gets a prize' things that are politically correct now, do not want anyone's feelings hurt. Mine said 'best overall', so someone liked the hat. I think Elmo was the judge. He is the driver of the bus on Monday and Wednesday. I did get many comments on the hat, before and after the parade, favorable comments, even. Someone said it looked like a brides hat, I said it could be a bridesmaid's hat, and I was available for the first wedding we have among residents hehehe.

Best post fore this gets too long. As you can tell, pain meds worked very well this morning, and my fingers are spouting off big time hehehe. Lovely to not hurt, I will take the motor mouth it sometimes brings with it.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. till later.

Hi Brenda, you have certainly been getting some cold weather so I hope it is nice when you are away. Please do not plan any trips away between 11 and 23 September. We will be in UK but have not worked out an itinerary for those days yet.
We got a bit of rain (much needed) last night and it should be much cooler today. I am over the humidity we have had lately.
My sister is coming to dinner tonight and I am cooking prawns and crabs in a coconut milk sauce flavoured with chili, lemongrass and garlic.

It's ok June we are keeping those dates free, we will not be planning anything for that time of the year until after our next trip away, which will probably be in June/July.
Today, so far has been dry but temp has only reached 2c with a wind chill of a lot lower. I am longing to see the sun!

Boy,this is annoying. Just lost my post.
Here goes again.

Theresa...how is the hand after the bite?
June. Your planned menu for dinner with your sister sounds yummy. The humidity is awful here also because we keep getting a few showers of rain. It really makes the lawn and weeds grow quickly.
MizT...it is nice to hear how you join in socially and it must be even more enjoyable when you are pain free. I bought some petunias and marigolds to pot up for the front door and it reminded me of you.
Brenda...hope the weather is fine for your break away.
Lets see if this will go thru

Forgot to tell you that I have a lap top now. As I hate the small screen, Greg has connected it to my bigger one so I am happy again. Lost a lot of stuff on the old computer but too late to think about backing it up now.Assignments, resumes, pictures etc
At least I still have all the email address in my mail.
Happy Easter all and safe traveling if you are on the roads.

Morning all,
Broni, hubby went on the roof yesterday to work on the chimney part of our wood heater. When coming down he threw some metal things off the roof... I heard the crash bang and thought it was him. He got a mouthful!

I got my flu shot this week. Hope it works! Viruses will mutate and mess with me... I was reading a while ago that the flu shot works better in the northern hemisphere because we get it first and so they are better prepared for the mutations. I have wondered about that logic though. As you have just had winter, didn't you technically get it first?......

Evening all.

Nola, the cat bites on my hand are much better. I think the infection is gone. I am having a lot of trouble getting the darn pill into the cat ... two times so far I have totally given up. There's only so much I can do.

My arm is really bothering me. I might have overdone it a bit today. Hubby is going to spend the night tomorrow night with his dad, he works until 2:30 PM and then he'll go to his dad's right from work. I made stew and a hamburg casserole for hubby to take with him, and then a stirfry for me. I think cutting up all the veggies did it for my arm. It hurts to be at the computer right now. I think I'll be making it an early night tonight.

The weather here is beautiful right now. The snow is slowly melting. Some of the snow banks are still a few feet high, but grass is starting to show in the back yard. Yipee!!!!! I am sooooo done with winter.

Suzy, good question, are we first with flu strains or are you? I tend to get the flu shot in October or November.

Greetings friends. A lovely spring day today, I opened windows, and aired the house. there was a strong storm north of us, in Tennessee, but that or some unknown force played havoc with me. I wasted a perfect afternoon in bed with the covers pulled over my head, waiting till time for meds. thank goodness they worked, much better now, got enough better I could do all the other things that help. But now it is dark, and tomorrow is supposed to be rain, oh well.

I got permission to put containers on the brick wall surrounding our patio downstairs. I was told I had to clear anything I wanted to do with 'the garden lady' one of our residents, who pretty much gave up the job of caring for and watering the garden. So I hunted her up, politely asked about putting some containers of flowers on the patio and was told NO before I got the words out of my mouth. OK, was not about to take no for an answer on the first try, boy some of these ladies do not want to give up their jobs, even when they cannot do them. I asked why not, she told me she could not water them. OK, who said anything about her watering them? I told her I planned on caring for them, I had cared for the pansies out on the drive way all winter long. She reluctantly said OK, but said some people put some tacky things out there, you would not believe, Nope, just large pots with annuals in them, nothing tacky, whatever that is. Gee, like pulling teeth to volunteer to do anything.

Today I found some nice sized self watering pots for a good price, would have liked a bit bigger, but bigger self watering are about 5 times the price. These are 14 inch diameter, and a foot tall, big enough to sit up on a brick wall, not so big they would fall off. I want petunias in them, the wave petunias like I have had such good luck with in the past. Most of the plants in the garden are perennials, and bloom for short time. Annuals will bloom all summer, and add some much needed color. I do hope annuals and color are not 'tacky' hehehe.

The 'big box' store where I found them is very close, it is where I found my self watering pots for indoors. In fact these containers are same manufacturer, same design, just larger. I know they work. Self watering is good in Alabama in July, I would otherwise have to water daily if not twice a day. I can order these online, then go pick them up at the store, at the check out. Easy way to shop this huge store. I will phone ahead to see if the plants are in yet, might still be early for them, we will see.

I have already ordered water absorbing granules, to add to the soil, another way to keep plants happy in afternoon sun in Alabama. It really helps too. I have used it before and ordered from this same Native American owned company.

So, that is how I spent my time today. I will be back later to catch up on reading and reply to posts. Just needed to get a post in here, cause it has been slow today.

Hugs to everyone, with extras if you need them.

Hi all.
Miz T, you are going to prove to be a blessing to your community and pay them for all the joy that you have shared with us. Your plant project sounds wonderful, glad you were able to persist and get an okay from the protective old

soul...she could spot someone more able and got

scared...poor thing.

Puter is still acting up, so will only add that I hope Hedie is able to do what we'd all like to see, but stay safe while doing so...Joyous Easter to all...and to Tami and family, Happy Passover.
Peace and Blessings to all ♥

Greetings to all in Sudokuland!

Have been thinking of everyone!

June, so glad you did well on the last bowls of the tournament. Hooray for finding the program you need to work on pictures!

MizT, I'm glad you persisted in getting 'permission' to put some planters on the patio to brighten the area.

Thinking positive thoughts for Heidi! Her heart is definitely in the right place, so I hope the drive is uneventful and everything goes smoothly for retrieving Maxine and the baby!

Brenda, sometimes you need a day or two without doing much ffuts. Enjoy the upcoming holiday!

Broni, I hope work is OK and the extra you're doing to help a friend doesn't add too much to your burdens! Be careful when you are able to clean gutters.

Suzy, I'm glad the noises you heard weren't you hubby taking a tumble from the roof! I hope all is well with you and your family!

Mamacita, we're glad to see you, even if it's a brief post. We certainly understand 'potter' issues, as they seem to be going around.

Theresa, I hope you can take it easy and rest your arm and the pain soon eases. So glad to hear that snow is finally melting!

Tami, I hope you're enjoying your spring break! Good news about David! Thinking of you and your family as you observe Passover.

CynB, how nice that your hubby can be home for 4 days, sleep in a bit and have no pressing tasks to be done!

Nola, sorry about your lost posts. Hopefully your new laptop will see the end of that problem! I hope you're able to get some rest.

Had an extremely quick trip to visit D, SIL and her family a few days ago - special fundraising concert to benefit the organization she'll be running a marathon for next month. Will have Easter brunch with local D and SIL. In the meantime, lots of practicing. My cello teacher has her students record ALL of book 1 songs with piano accompaniment when they begin book 3, so the time has come. I'm determined to try to keep it as stress-free as possible.

Thinking of everyone I haven't responded to: Midge, Gail, Rolanda, Viv, Bean and others. My brain is ready for sleep, so I apologize if I've missed anyone.

{{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes and are on their way to everyone! Good Night!
