Thanks Brenda...You just reminded me that I meant to tell Stella how cute her great niece is...Stella, I do see a resemblance....your niece could be in my family...isn't life grand. Nancy used a Heinz 57 term that only shows how much we all are alike...the human race.I love it!
Brenda, glad Callie is enjoying her new home...as much as you seem to be enjoying her.

Brenda, neighbor has a pit bull, still a pup, and just that friendly. I know she is going to be a big dog, and I know she will come visit us an every oppertunity ( animals are attracted to my hubby) so, I have taught her she will not get petted or even acknowledged till she sits! I am unsteady enough on my feet, do not need a dog jumping on me, we both would tumble and someone would get hurt, human or animal!

a former next door neighbor had a pup like that, and I did the same thing, cause she would come greet me any time I steped out of the house! One day Suzi the HUGE dog came running at me top speed, and her owner and I were chatting, Owner gets all flustered, trying to get dog to stop. dog puts on brakes and stops right at my feet, and imediately goes to the SIT position, or as close as this high strung dog would go, sitting on her haunches, butt never on the ground. neighbor said, how did you do that?/ she will never mind me

Her full name is Nukatchiaba, which means my younger sister. Her and Max(Shi Tzu and Lhasa Apso) like to ride in the car. I have to leave them at home in the summer, though, it's too hot for them to stay in the car.

When someone comes to the door we try to give Callie a toy to carry as this will stop her from jumping up at people. This is something we read about, and know someone who has a yellow lab which does this.

Maybe I should try the toy thing with Nuka, she constantly jumps on people. Hubby and gumball encourage her to jump on them so it is a hard habit to break.

brenda, isn't it amazing how many people and dogs you will met when out for a walk with your pup? I suppose people are just drawn to the warm and fuzzy. Makes people less afraid of a stranger, almost like "well their dog likes them, they can't be all bad".

I would never leave a dog in the car, but while traveling in the heat I have to use the cars climate control, which is sometimes so good my chin feels as if it has icicles on it.. that hasn't happened this year

It's just a pity that it has to take a puppy to get people to talk to you. I have lived in Stevenage for over 8 years now and I can probably count on my fingers the number of strangers who have spoken to me

No it isn't which is a shame. I remember taking my daughter out in her pushchair 22 years ago and she would say hello to anyone walking towards us. Not one person ever answered her... she was only 18 months old, what harm could it have done for people to say hello to her.
Is it like that where you are Rena?

It isn't quite that bad here because I live near a very small resort town. About 1456 permanent residents. It is in the summer with all the tourists.

I am in no way criticising any of you on the SA pages with this comment and I am probably half a day too late with this but I am going to post it anyway after reading the overnight comments.
I read most of the comments here but rarely, if ever, comment as I have been excessively busy and you all enjoy each others company so much it is a special place for you to share. I dont have the time to commit to sharing on every page so easy or the chatroom is where I comment most. I have had enormous support from all of you through my life issues and celebrations and I treasure all of you as cyber friends from all around the world.
I am not sure how many of you realise that many people read the pages and dont comment. If you go to the forum page and see the SA and other pages you will see how many pages there are but also how many views there is which is many many more that comments.
anyway a small opinion for you to ponder ...
I think when you re read comments of times past that the context in which the conversations were held is totally different and as such you get a different opinion on what was happening at the time. also many of the comments may have been intertwined with comments from the chatroom and as such may have a contrived meaning.
those that used the chatroom often had fun with aliases and parties, made stories etc and they spilt over onto the comments in easy often. we had a few visitors to the chatroom who delighted in taking that too far and used the chatroom to abuse other users and use some peoples 'sign ins' to make nasty comments to others hence stirring up trouble within the happy community we had there. Gath in his wisdom after many issues and complaints from some decided unwillingly that signing in as a member was the only answer. but that limits the use of the chatroom for the fun side of what we used to do. I dont have a problem with a second chatroom where those that enter cannot complain about what happens in there as they enter knowing that risk.
ok so where am I going with this long winded natter ............ we realised after some time that what we typed in the chatroom, if personal, was being read by anyone who entered the chatroom after we left, so we started clearing the words in the chatroom before we left or after our convo had moved on if we had been discussing personal issues or sharing email addresses etc. gath has given us other forums where we can share such details and that has helped change the needs of the chatroom.
here in SA, or your chatroom and where you enjoy each others company, family, sharing etc, the pages and comments are here for all to see and read after the fact. what you wrote a few pages ago, was I know only in normal conversation for you all and having read a lot of your chatter, it was not in anyway vindictive or nasty. but the problem is others read it and it has a different context, just like when you yourselves go back and re read

ok it was too long winded ... lucky I copied it
continued
... just like when you yourselves go back and re read the archive comments. in the chatroom we have probably discussed similar topics and issues and things about old comments but the chatroom is not left there for all to re read at a later date, it is gone into cyber space and cant hurt anyones feelings if it is too personal. Becky I saw your honest and giving apology and it should be accepted by all. I also think the reaction was a bit over the top and could have been handled better.
please if I have upset you by this comment on here where you feel secure in enjoying the site then please let me know so on my page so that I can perhaps elaborate further. there is more I could say but am trying to just give you an insight to a bit of history from having been here through all of it. I have been on the site since it started and if I can help you understand some of the history to the site I am happy to.
the chatroom here was the first one that most of us have ever used and you do get used to the speed in time. it is nice to chat to people in real time if you dont have enough time to sit and wait for a reply to a comment, which is what we all did originally before the chatroom.
anyway ladies and gentlemens from SA and all those that just read the comments here I need to get going and havent even done my puzzles this morning.
so enjoy your day/night and all play fair.

Hi Rosemary and Rola! Have a bit of a migraine headache leftover from the other day. I just can't seem to shake it. It is probably caused by all of the tension. My house looks like a war zone. Not fond of medicine but finally had to resort to the prescription stuff. Hopefully it will work.

Had a bit of a scare this morning. D#1 said she saw a myspace message saying that Brendan's roommate had died. She didn't think anything of it because she didn't know he was injured last night. She figured it had something to do with a soccer run. I almost had a heart attack. She quickly txted Brendan and we found out his roommate was ok. I assume he had a concussion but S#1 did not give any info in the txt other than he was ok.

Hi Stella, Rola and Rosemary and anybody else I've missed. Stella, sorry about the headache; migraines can be awfully hard to get rid of sometimes; hope the medicine works.
