Stella, sometimes if the storm is strong enough, we get hit too. Most of the time we get Alberta Clippers.

If I hadn't heard of Alberta Clippers before (I don't know what they are exactly.), I would wonder who she is.

as for the incy wincy spider Cyndi. just don't send him to my place !!! have enough of them here !!! he sounds like a Wolf Spider, or a Huntsman (similar to Wolf). huge horrible

It's when the cold air from Alberta, Canada sweeps down into the northern states. It's extremely cold air that can make our temperature drop anywhere from 10-30 degrees. Sometimes snow comes along with the cold air.

I didn't say you were wrong Cyndi. Technically, the front could come from the NE moving SW. It's just when they show it on their map thingy, it is the moist air off the coast that causes the problem when it collides with the cold air.

I don't know what kind of spider he is, but when I just changed into my jammies, I promise you, I checked both legs to make sure they were empty!

I don't like spiders at all. I became even more afraid of them when my bil was biten by a brown recluse and he could have lost his arm. It was really bad!

I don't mind being wrong, it's been a long time since I lived up North and I have a very short memory and am not very good at all with geography and NE-SW-EE-SS! hehe

no snow in Perth, or Western Australia, except sometimes on the Stirling Ranges in the SW (near Albany where Anne lives) may get some on top. Ruby.
Get snow in the Eastern States in the snowy mountains in Victoria and New South Wales, near where Jenny/Canberra lives

When we get snow, which is about once every five years, it doesn't come from the North as you would think. It always stops at the NC line. Our snow comes through Atlanta and Columbia.

I thought I remembered a picture of snow-topped mountains in Oz. This has certainly been a lesson to me in down-under climatology. I used to think Australia was one big desert.

Stella: My ceaning girl came toda with a big bandage on her leg and one on her hip she showed me. Cultures said she had been bitten by a spider, but did not specify what type. She has a staph infection that they've had to incise twice now, and she's on 4 types of antibiotics!
At least I'm sure she wasn't bitten here since she was bitten last week (only comes here every 2 weeks)

Some spider bites can be nasty.
I never saw a wolf spider till I moved to Columbus. They are one of the ugliest.

Gosh, poor cleaning girl.

I have the new on and they are talking about the flooding in Minnesota and Wisconsin. It looks like Wisconis got hit hard again today.

I don't mind spiders, except black widows. I got a colony of BW's in a load of fire wood a few years back. Every once in a while, I'll see one, but they don't hurt the bottom of my shoe much.

I hope so, otherwise she has to go to the hospita for IV antibiotics. And, when she doesn't work, even though she works thru an agency, she doesn't get paid.

Cyndi, hopefully she knows to eat yogurt while taking the antibiotics. They forgot to tell my bil and the antibiotics nearly killed him because they were so strong.

Rain was predicted for Wisc and Minn today. We have rain predicted for Friday through Wednesday. I hope it comes through.

Wll Wisconsin ever dry out? They've surely been hit hard lately.
