Yes, I think someone once told me before, but I had forgotten, whipper snipper, Well this thing was snipping at ME. Co was aware of the malfunction, and have a new improved model that 'solves the problem' sounds like they were a bit negligent, still the old ones being sold

Hmm just reading the recipe. need to get some Sour cream, have all the other ingredients. and buy some ready made custard...
might surprise them this eve, will be nice to have after the CMS...

SOUR CREAM AND APPLE PIE
Recipe: from the ‘West Australian’ Thursday 24 May 2007

This is an old- fashioned Amish apple pie recipe. You could add grated lemon rind or sultanas for more flavour and texture. Serves 6 –8

Base
3 cups plain flour
300g butter
½ cup icing sugar
1 egg
1 yolk

Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until it forms a ball.
Rest in the fridge for 30 minutes. Flour the workbench and roll out the pastry to 2mm thickness. Line a metal pie dish and trim off the excess. You will have pastry leftover for a second pie. This can be stored in the fridge or freezer

Filling
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup caster sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 eggs
3 tablespoon flour
5 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced.

Whisk the sour cream, sugar, vanilla, eggs and flour, and mix with the apple slices. Spoon into the pie shell and top with pastry, trimming, brushing with egg wash (made from 1 egg yolk plus 1 tablespoon milk) and making a slit with a sharp knife to release the steam.
Preheat the oven to 180C/350F and bake 40-45 minutes

Hi, Rola, I'm back. Just been reading along while watching Lost. I get so frustrated with it (Lost), they keep changing the original story and the characters' original backgrounds that I just want to stop watching, but hubby keeps putting it on/
Does anyone have the recipe for the mock apple pie? I've got way too many saltines and nothing to do with them.

Cyndi, here is a recipe for Mock Apple Pie. Never tried it, so can't guarantee how good it is.

MOCK APPLE PIE
Pie crust
13 saltines
1 1/2 tbsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. hot water
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. lemon juice

Break crackers in quarters onto pie crust. Mix all other ingredients together and turn over crackers. Put on top crust. Bake 400 degrees 30 minutes
