Same/same this week on the scales. Not bad considering the lunches/dinners out last week. Dry July has begun, to be followed shortly by abstaining August.
I have booked my appointment with the liver specialist for late August and need to have a blood test before that. I think I'll go early on the morning of #2's 20th birthday on the 20th - at least then I can celebrate his birthday in style later in the day!
Bring on Sozzled September. Repeat to self. I do not have a problem with alcohol. I do not have a problem with alcohol.

Oh what a suprise - welcome to page 22.
I wonder if turning the page could have anything to do with what we are trying to achieve in this forum. Hmmmmm... now let me think about that.

Woo Hoo, break out the champagne, I lost .3kg this week. I told you I was in this for the long haul and based on how slowly I'm losing weight it will be a very long haul.
Actually, let's toast my great loss with diet coke or water. I'm one week into my alcohol-free month and going fine.
My niece came over on Saturday and bought a bottle of wine with her. I didn't share with her and then the second bottle got left in the fridge. I've made hubby finish it off so I'm not tempted. He's so good to me!
Have a great and health week everyone.

No, it isn't Gail. I do enjoy a glass or two of wine with dinner. I can give it up for a month but don't want to go totally alcohol free.
This is just a temporary stop until after my blood test.

No weigh in this week, I was too sick to go. However, my home scales are showing dramatic drops. I just hope it stays that way.
I'm eating plenty of fruit and trying to drink more water.

Thanks Judy, I'm definitely on the mend. Weighin tonight and I've lost .9kg. Woo Hoo!! It had nothing to do with me, just the flu that I've had. I wasn't interested in food. Now, I have to keep it off and continue with my weight loss. It is a good boot along though.

Well, it's good news. I kept the weight off from my flu and have lost another .2kg. Thats a total of 6.3kg so far. Very slow but at least the scales are still going down.
Next is the blood test and specialist next week.
Have a great week everyone!

According to the scales last night I've lost .5kg this week. I'm not certain how that happened as my scales at home don't show that at all. I'll take it though.
I had my blood test last week, so now I'm curious to see what effect losing weight is having on my cholesterol and liver function. I guess I'll find out on Thursday.
Have a great healthy week everyone!

OK I'm still here. Found that .5kg that I had lost last week.
I've got the results of my blood test. Getting better results, my levels are dropping, although most are still not back to within the normal range. The blood test that records how my liver will repair itself is now within normal limits! Yippee!!!
I now have 12 months until I see the specialist again. Time to lose more weight and get exercising.
Since I seem to be the only one here nowadays I will just confine myself to letting you know when I have achieved each kilo. It could be a while until I visit again.
Have a happy and healthy week all!!

Victoria - well done! So glad to hear your health is improving and the blood test was good. Yippee! to you and a virtual pat on the back!

I have also lost a few kilos over ... some time. Not a lot of difference on the scales, but some people have commented that Rob and I both look trimmer. Only a month till the wedding, so probably need to do a bit more now. Yes, we are both Losers, and proud of it! :D

I have a confession to make....a few personal setbacks and I hit the chocolate......light, dark, even white!...on biscuits, straight, imbibed, injected...woe is me. All my good works undone!
Time to be strong again...banish the substance from my thoughts and longings...impose limits and stick to them. I haven't gained a lot, but enough is enough! Let the downward spiral begin (again)!

Mary, confession is good for the soul. I'm a bit like you - having a weight loss hiatus at the moment. Lets get motivated together so those scales show a downward movement.
Now the warmer weather is here, the desire for chocolate seems to disappear (a bit). Get into the strawberries, watermelon etc.

I know that White Chocolate and Raspberry Brownies contain fruit...but I don't think that they are particularly healthful in the vast quantities I scoffed down yesterday....

Oh Mary, that is deserving of at least one big choccy. I've lost a stone, walking and being good, drinking water (gosh that stuff is nervewrackingly boring), no sign of my hip bones yet though...I'm starting to wonder if I had any of those to start with!!!

Thanx André, but I had a BIG box of Duc D'O given to me and I'm working on the premise that the faster I eat them all, the less damage there will be...

AArrgghh!!!! One should not celebrate finishing a highly stressful job that none-the-less contributed significantly to one's weight loss by indulging in an orgy of french bakery products, no matter how enticing they may be.....
