Bit chilly but not too bad. Supposed to be showers later today and for the next few days but I will believe it when I see it.
Took Scrap to the vet this morning for his monthly Cartrophin jection but, to be honest, I think it will be the last time. The next time he goes to the vet will be his last I am afraid.

Thank you Mary. I am very practical when it comes to it about pets, doesn't mean I still don't get choked up. I didn't do 'it' today because I think the kids have the right to know and to say their goodbyes, but I wont tell them exactly when. Only I will know that.

Our remaining dog has just had his second knee reconstruction..(sounds like a footballer), and he will be on arthritis meds for the rest of his life

The cartrophin is to ease his arthritis. I nearly had him put down over a year ago when he was unable to walk without his back end staggering and drooping, so, with much heartache, I took him to the vet but she suggested we try this. I was most surprised because I had prepared myself. It has given him a full extra year, which at 15 is not bad. But now, his condition has deteriorated and he is not well toward the end of each month.

I have arthritis inhips knees & back did not know they do knee replacements on dogs

My arthritis is a result from a trip to China last year only had it in 1 knee & 1 hip when I came back could hardly walk I dont walk real good now

I believe Cartrophin was originally made for humans but has too many unpleasant side-affects. It is now used for dogs but some vets use it in cats as well.

sorry, may not have been a 'replacement'...he 'did' his cruciate ligament...so they 'fixed' that...what that was...
