My husband keeps telling me he can cook but never proved it. Can't blame him really as he doesn't get home till after 7pm, we would be starving before he got a chance to cook anything

I am very cleverly training the girls to take over the role of chef. This week they got to go through recipes before I go shopping. I'll have to help of course, but the plan is that that will only be temporary!

It is just before 10 am here and the temps up to 20C already, have been promised 23C. I've got to hang some bedding out and then I am going to find an electric extension so I can take the ironing outside to do. I now have two baskets full to do so have got to get on with it
I have to take Callie to the vet at 11:15 as I have found a lump on one of her nipples

I too have been cooking forever or so it seems. Ds can cook, S can do a couple of things, but as I am at home most of the time I get to do the majority of cooking, while they clean up afterwards

It doesn't hurt them to help with any of the household chores. How will they learn if not by helping.

My girls seem to do less than some around the house, though more than some too. They don't do dishes much. Though I have to replace lost library cards and I have told then it will cost them dishes for a week. And no, they can't just give me the money, I want them to think about looking after their stuff the whole time they are doing it. Interestingly, d1 searched again for her card, but d2 didn't think to.

Hi June, my husband would get take out too.
We are having a 50th birthday get together (a friends birthday) at our house this weekend. We were going to do a buffet, but over the past 5 weeks this friend has been taken into hospital 3 times, so she has suggested that we just have a chinese take out. Just in case she is rushed in again and all buffet foods would spoil. So take out it will be for 14 people

Sounds an easy way to go Brenda, and sometimes it is not that much more expensive. You can boil your own rice etc. And also so much less work!!!
Hope she is well enough to enjoy her birthday

I do not mind the shopping but hate the putting away when I bring it home. Do not mind cooking most of the time . Just wish he would clean up for me afterwards. He used to do that when the kids were young (he did not like putting them to bed and reading stories) but it stopped as they got older and then we got the dish washer.(Which still has to be packed!!!)

We have a fairly flat yard. Hubby will sometimes put hte washing out and in. Works a couple of days a week and plays bowls and coaches baseball so finds time to be away from any jobs at home as much as possible
