Just dropped in to say goodbye to all of you...for those of you caravaning...Brenda and Rolanda...enjoy...Stella...have a blast in Disney, Gail, Bean and Dino...what adventure you have already experienced with all of the wind, downed trees and hectic travel...stay safe.
When faced with an extended power outage due to hurricanes, the Floridians gather together and have a neighborhood BBQ....We had a great time doing that in 2006 when we were stuck there with a series of hurricanes.... to the rest of you, and if I start naming names, I'll forget one so ...since you know who you are...hold down the fort until I return....take care of yourselves and each other....I'll miss you, but am so looking forward to this trip....see you when I see you...thanks again for a warm send off!

Maen all! Didn't make it in here yesterday so logged on this morning to see if all were okay after the storms. Good news I think! Gail, I've heard of people up this way having claims approved for food spoilage. One even got money to clean her house after bush fires! I wouldn't have the hide to try that one on, but apparently it worked.

Storms blew through today much earlier than expected. Nothing major at my house, just enough wind to blow my trash bins up the driveway a bit. Temps are dropping, air drying out, YEAH, feels lots better then hot and muggy we had this morning!

Hellooooooo! Anybody home?? Sure is nice in the new digs. Sorry I'e been away so long--it's one of those cases where (my) life got in the way.
I've only read the last couple of pages of comments which somewhat shadow what's on the Easy
pages only elaborates on things. Gail, sorry to hear of your loss from the storm. Glad to hear everyone is still healthy. That was some really bad storms that blew through OZ.
Will check back with y'all later.
I've missed you. (for now)

It's alright, we have salvaged most of the meat we had in the freezer. The only things we decided to throw out of the bulk freezer was the seafood and sausages, of which there wasn't much.
We threw everything out of the fridgetop freezer though, I don't think it had the same insulation capabilities as the chest one. Just mini-portion leftover meals etc so no great loss and a great excuse to give it a really good cleaning!

Cyndi, fabulous to have you back. Sorry I wasn't here, I was off doing the tough.
Now, take my advice, take life firmly by the scruff of the neck and say "SA is more important than you!"
Really though, I hope you are well and that you can come visit more often.

Good morning all! Not sure what kind of day today will be. It's dreary at the moment and looks like it may still be raining. It is warming up though! Yeah!

SUDOKULAND! Coffee tea and choccie available. boy my first cuppa tastes good today.

We had rain all night, steady, not to heavy, the kind that soaks in. Unusual for rain after a cold front/storm like we had yesterday, but very good for drought relief. The downpours with run off fill the resivoirs and ponds, but the slow steady rain saoks the earth, good for planting.

MizT., our weather has followed your lead. The wind in last night's storm sounded weird. I was listening for the freight train, but it was like no wind I've ever heard before. Oh, well, we're still here and unharmed, so all is OK.

Suzy, don't be so cheeky! I'm not ALWAYS here, and besides, even though the clock doesn't show it, it's only 9.57 not 10.57. Clocks went back last night, and even though I have been up since I normally would be, I have only just come online.

2.35 in downtown Melbourne...wonder if the clock has been corrected...one way to find out.
School holidays are drawing to a close with the students back on Tuesday...They have gone SO QUICKLY! I actually enjoy having my son around not like so many mum's that can't wait to have them back at school. [that's not just because he'll always give me a back rub if I've overdone it in the garden].
I had a really big day out yesterday...annual pilgrimage into the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show. For someone obsessed with horticulture and growing things it is a treat. [only took 140 photos this year....gulp!!] Will load some on my page in a few days if anyone is interested.
Must away...the sun is shining and my garden beckons...

Hello all - a bit quiet on SA4 in the last few days. Hello Bean, Julie and Gail - you've probably all gone by now.
I'll leave some coffee/tea and cake for anyone who wanders in anyway -

I'm a trifle worn out today - we are preparing to do what Rolanda is going through now - renovating our ensuite. Tiles - spent hours looking for something we liked - think we've almost decided. They're all so boringly colourless - browns, beiges, greys - I told the girl in one shop I'm 10 years behind the times! I had in mind that I'd like one of those feature strips in blues and greens. She nearly laughed in my face!

CynB, when we did ours 18 months ago I picked a large white tile with a 'riple' and then put a border (actually of cream magnolias because of my antique furniture) and the tiles only come half way up the wall. We have painted the top half of the walls.

Just been out and 3/4 filled the garbage with chewed up grapefruit. Wish I could get a net over thr tree but it is a bit tall for me. Will have to net some of the oranges as the cockies are starting on them as well.

Bean, I'm with you, I like school holidays... Ours start in a week. Mind you, I'm starting to regret waiting until I was older to start a family (not so old, but older than my mother by 9 years). We've had a house guest (d2's friend) since 2.30 yesterday afternoon. Although they kept each other entertained, they were also a lot more adventurous than d2 would have been alone and I traipsed up and down the back path at least a dozen times. We have a loooong back path.... I'm a bit tired now... feeling my age

Hubby has spent the afternoon doing a coaching session at Centennial Park for a group of women who play baseball throughout the winter.
While we were out had a heavy but brief storm go through and the gutter overflowed into my sun room. Water all moped up now.

Yes, June, apart from the shower and the splashback of the vanity we're only doing 1 tile height on walls, then painting them. That'll be another headache - paint colours!
