Welcome to the sudoku.com.au newsletter for February 2008 :)
It's been ages since the last update, but there are 2 main bits of news
The BIG crash of Jan'08
January was pretty much been a nightmare as far as uptime is concerned. First, the hosting company managed to delete the websites of everyone who was being billed monthly. After a few days it became apparent that the site would never be fully recovered, and the decision to move hosts was made. The new host chosen was Rackspace. Rackspace have won numerous awards and are extremely well regarded in the industry, so I thought all the troubles would be over.
No such luck.
For the next 9 days the site was up & down before the problem could be tracked down to a hardware issue. Apparently the problem was so unique that the computer that Rackspace initially put me on is now used as part of their training for the technicians.
Hopefully, that is all behind us now, and the site will be rock solid for years to come. Thanks goes out to everyone for their patience while it happened.
Put widgets on your Personal Page
Supporting users can now put any kind of widget on their personal page. Previously, the only kind of widget allowed was the YouTube player.
Widgets allow you to embed content from another site on your personal page. An example of this can be found on my personal page, where I am showing the cartoon 'Dilbert'. I paste the widget code onto my page, and the widget automatically appears. It then shows a new Dilbert cartoon everyday. This is just one type of widget - you can show almost anything.

Till next time,
