It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

I collected Laura on Tuesday after daycare and she was here all day Wed. Then when I took her home she put on a "I want Grandma" turn which was heart rendering. She was on the phone "I want you Grandma" and she had her mother intears because she was sobbing and it went on for about an hour. She had gone to sleep in the car and I think she had not woken up properly. Saw her last night and she hardly wanted to talk to me.!

Ouch June!
She has spent a lot of time with you over the last several months for one reason or another. I can understand why she would be so attached. It must have been heart breaking for both you and her mum.

I have a friend request on facebook that I'm pretty sure is someone who goes to school with Ebob. She's... um... well... not Ebob's friend. I'll have to check the name when Ebob wakes up.

Yep, but I haven't heard much about her since year 7, which is over 2 years ago now. Ebob wasn't her target, a couple of her friends were. I'm wondering why a 15 year old would want to be my facebook friend?? I'm wondering why a 15 year old is on facebook! Or maybe I should be wondering why an oldie like me is???

Continuing on from my last gross rat story....

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/entertainment/757377/dead-rats-headdress-on-london-catwalk

A designer on Wednesday unveiled a full face headdress made of real mice and rat carcasses on the fringes of London Fashion Week.

That rat headdress is not nice. At least no sane person would wear it in public. And I guess PETA will go after the designer.

Good morning all,I got a surprise to see SA8,I hadn't read the numbers on the forum page, just went to the top one.
I have filled the skip bin and could do with another one,but will wait awhile and gather more junk from the shed.
Off for a blood test this morning and also hope the hairdresser can squeeze me in today.Dont like my chances but would like it done before Renae gets here on Sunday.

Nola, the way to get the hairdresser to fit you in is to walk in - it worked for me! She saw how bad I looked and made time for me....

I found out the girl is the one in Ebob's year at school. Now if I ignore her request does that put Ebob in the firing line? Got to take the risk...

and I dont have time to be on here.
Busy with packing the caravan !!

Hubby says he hopes to be home by 4.00.
As soon as he gets home, he hopes out of the ute into the car.
And off we go for the long weekend.
We will be staying at a local Caravan Park in the Northern Suburbs..
About 45 mins drive thru traffic taking the long way.
Would probably take much longer if we took the short way over the Freeway, which will be banked up with cars going into peak traffic home.

Good morning lovely SA8 people.
Thanks to MizT for letting us know. It did get bad on SA7 yesterday so I wasn't surprised.
Suzy - if you do not accept that friend request from that girl, could she take it out on Ebob at school? It's a nasty type of bullying, isn't it?

Hi Rolanda, have a great trip if I miss you...

Cyn, it's possible, but Ebob is fairly resilient and would cope well. I've also told her not to mention it at school because we could then claim that I didn't realise who it was. I've trolled through my friends friends' and found out how she found me. Much less scary than the idea of her actually searching for someone in my family!

I'm sitting here on the laptop while I backup the files on the PC. It is doing crazy things and I would hate to lose the info there - particularly the photos! We took the hard drive out of an old lap top. bought one of those doohickeys that you can put the hard drive in, and now it is like a giant memory stick.

June, my 7yo grandie, Emily - my son's middle girl has been getting very upset every time she has to leave me after a visit. She clings to me, sobbing 'my Nanny'. I have to reassure her that she will see me soon and it won't happen again (the long seperation). I know it won't because I've seen the guilt on my son's face when he watches her distress. I don't think he realised the side-effects this type of action has. I'm pleased to say that after 3 months - all is still well and they are a changed couple and our family life is good and solid - at last.

That's a tissue story Cyn! So glad for all of you.

I had a weird one with Ally. All her friends in the US had a Grandma and she didn't. We moved back to Australia and my mother refused to be Grandma, she was Nana. Ally was still distressed that she didn't have a Grandma!

Poor Ally - did she ever get over it?
We used to call my Mum's father Papa - because my oldest cousin couldn't say Grandpa = I couldn't understand why other kids didn't have a Papa.
