Listening to The Shadow, then to bed. I'm REALLY tired.

Heidi, I haven't been posting anywhere as I have not been well with this sinus infection, if that is what it is, and the weather has been too hot here. I had some blood and urine tests the other day and will go to the doc's next Friday and see if it shows anything.
Whatever I have is just taking too long to leave me.
Will SA8 finish up on the 500th page then?

Maybe on the end of it. But SOMEBODY may get stupid and decide to vie for the last post.

I can't imagine who would do THAT, though.

I hope to be in bed in less than an hour - early physical therapy in the morning & I'm still aching from helping to move my MIL's things. Better remember to take a pain pill in the morning!

Now - off to the other page for a minute or two.

Those old radio episodes of The Shadow only last a half hour, Julie.

I got hooked on old radio shows back in high school. I attended a symposium on them and got to listen to some of the actual, original tapes. Some were taped rehearsals and were hysterically x-rated. I've been collecting copies of the shows ever since.

Now that I have a Mac, I go to the radio section of iTunes. There are several channels that play nothing but old radio shows.... 1930's thru' 1950's. The Golden Age.

Hubby and I enjoy them, too. But our older daughter discovered them in high school on a radio show called "Old Time Radio Classics." She always listened when she went to bed. She even put them on her iPod to listen as she trained last year for the Boston Marathon. I suppose she even was listening to them as she ran in the race.

I see - I read your comment about listening but looked at the time stamp of a later comment. You must have listened to the Shadow BEFORE your nap, not after!

I will not stay up all night to keep this going.

The Shadow started a LOT earlier than The Whistler.

They even have a few from before my mother was a sparkle in HER mothers eye, but not many. Most of the really early ones weren't taped or were lost.

The station I'm listening to is: AM 1710 Antioch.

Now Suspense, from this date in '52, is on. A great one called "Carnival" starring Joseph Cotton.

When this ends, I'm off to bed.

I have another 4 pages to read to catch up.
We are now back up to normal speed connection ...between being capped and having computer problems things have been driving me completely demented. I am really looking forward to getting back in the swing...have missed this bunch of nutters. I've been able to load the the 1st easy page but none of the SA pages...no doubt due to the smilies. I'm still not game to try my smilies in case it stops working again... It took all day to download '1' email one day... V. WEIRD. FB has still been loading most days [but not most of the games] otherwise I would have been completely out of the loop.

Yesterday I was very naughty..instead of dropping in here I went out to lunch,a movie and a bit of hunting and gathering for the larder [supermarket shopping]. We saw "It's Complicated"...very funny. Merryl Streep is SO good. Nothing like a good laugh.

I was exhausted yesterday when I got home. It is the most I have tackled since my hips totally spat the dummy back in November. The adrenaline rush from excitement while Vici was here kept me going. Take that away with her departure and whammo..talk about sock it too me!

Did a lot of walking ...the most in 3 monsth which was really good ...what an achievement and a big change this new medication has brought into my life! After effects...every time I have sat down since getting home yesterday I have fallen asleep...

I'll go and try to finish reading and get myself up to speed.. Ciao for now fellow T.H.E.B.'s...and anybody else we may have picked up while I have been MIA..
