Care to share some of that Valium with me, Bean? I could use it right about now. I just had a close call with a cow. Nearly lost her.

The story is on SA 9A, Julie. I was in no danger except for flailing feet. The cow was about an hour from death.

Doing great. The ground is pretty much back to being frozen, so they aren't having to deal with mud.

That's good news, indeed! Hope you're feeling better today - if that's possible being on your feet cooking for the Lion's concession stand at the estate auction. (If anyone is confused by all that, feel free to drop into SA9A!
eaa, we miss you! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

I was just gonna say that! We miss you, Dame Edna Above Average! I want to tell you about my new toy. I just bought a stun gun at an auction! I have no idea what I'm gonna do with it. I just thought it was cool. Nobody else bid on it, so I got it for $5.00/ AU$5.56.

Hi Heidi, Julie & Tami.
Yes where are you eaa?
A stun gun Heidi?
I hope this works in getting IH to assist you around the place?

I believe that the stun gun will be kept in my truck for protection. There are too many lowlifes out there, and while I'd hesitate to use a gun on one, I wouldn't hesitate to use a stun gun.

Hello, Everyone! My goodness, this page has been (relatively) busy!
Heidi, does your town or state require a stun gun to be registered or require a permit? Did I hear or read that some police groups have begun questioning their safety?
Tami and V Viv, how nice to see you both here!

Our area requiring registration??? I don't think so. One of our Deputy Sheriff's was standing next to me, talking to me, when I bid on it. He said nothing about registration. Neither did the auctioneer.

No matter how dangerous a stun gun is, it's still safer than a gun and bullets. Using one shows no intent to kill, just to defend oneself.

Well, Heidi, you would think if there were any kind of requirements, either the auctioneer or the Deputy Sheriff might have said something. I hope you never have a need to use the stun gun against a person!
I'm hoping all is well in eaa's neck of the woods! eaa, we miss you!

Hi ladies.
Slowly but surely these pages keep going.
We have had some nice cooler weather here and some rain. Hubby getting a crown done on Thursday after his work at 5pm at a cost of $1,300. Ouch.

Ouch is right, V VIv! But then, I had a crown done in January - $1900 US dollars, I think. Luckily dental insurance paid about half. (We won't get into how much the dental insurance costs per year.)

Hi Gang, Last week I was very busy.
This week has been a real stinker.
My brother-in-law passed away Last Thursday, he left things up in the air.
Early Tuesday morning our ex accountant [retired] Passed away.
This morning our Male neighbour died in his sleep,he was only 59.
I just can't get my head around it These are of my generation.
Gone to soon.

eaa, we're so glad to see you here, but so sad for all that has happened in the past week! First of all, condolences to you and hubby on the death of your brother-in-law! Apparently it was unexpected. Then to have your former accountant as well as your young neighbor. That's just way too much to handle. Sending you some warm Sudoku hugs {{{{{{eaa}}}}}} Since they say that misfortune comes in threes, it looks like that should be it for the year! Remember to take care of yourself!

OMG, Heidi, SEVEN crowns!?!?!?!? Did you get a multiple-purchase discount? And how did your mouth feel! I don't remember you telling us about this. Your dentist should give you a discount because she can probably make the Guinness Book of World Records for seven crowns for one patient in a short time. Or - maybe you should be in the Guinness Book of WR!

Oh my god, eaa. My condolences on your brother-in-law's passing. Then losing your accountant and neighbor... all in one week.... is mind-numbing. You must be in shock. That is too much to wrap ones brain around. The mourning will come later, after the numbness and shock wear off.

Julie... to add insult to this, I'm developing an abscess at the base of the root on another tooth. Top left canine. I've got a large, painful lump on the gum. That big a lump means that the infection is eating a hole through the bone. This tooth already has a crown, but no root canal. This will probably entail another apico (sp?). That's where an incision is made in the gum, the bone over the root is chiseled out and the abscess is removed through the side. I've already gone through 2 of these.

Hi Ladies.
Julie and Heidi, ouch re the crowns.
Hubby is only having the one thank heavens.!!
Heavens Heidi it must have cost you a small fortune and not good you are developing an abscess.
Yes Julie, feeling better than I was.
On medication now for underactive thyroid and go back in a couple of weeks to have a blood test and see how that's going.
Just about to log in Avon orders for $1,086.
That has kept me busy in the last week out and about getting orders.
The dinner out was to be tonight but is now this Friday night.
Looking forward to that, not having to cook tea.
Had spaghetti bolognese tonight.
Ohh eaa. Sorry to hear all that sad news, gone too soon definitely.

Hi, V Viv! So glad you're feeling better! Yes, the underactive thyroid situation. Meds can help some. Seems to me there are several of us with underactive thyroid - Heidi, I think, maybe Broni, you, me. Does that tell us something?

Yikes, Heidi! Seven crowns at once and NO discount? Does your dentist take trade - maybe some meat for her freezer when you have some extra? I can't imagine having the intestinal fortitude to present someone with a bill for seven crowns. And now the absess. I remember you saying you don't have very good teeth, but this MUST be record-setting!

Big sigh! I feel very very empty and for the moment have lost my zing.
Thank you all for the warm and loving comments, I do appreciate it very much.
Tomorrow will be hard two funeral at the same time. Hubby has been asked to be a carrier for the neighbour. He is very honoured to be asked. He's brother affairs are still not settled [he lived in NSW].He has two brother trying to sort things out. Hubby was much closer to our neighbour than his brother who he hadn't seen for fifteen+ years.
Well must go, see you all later.
