ans for the numerical palindrome puzzle:
lets write the equation as per the given data
aa+bcb=deed
1.b ought to be 9 for lessthan that will not yield a four digit.
2.d ought to be 1 for the sum (aa+9c9)cannot be greater than 1098.
3.this makes a to be only 2.
4.then e shall be nothing but zero.
a=2,b=9,d=1 and e=0
1001-22=979.

ok the ans to the first post is
the sum of the numbers from 1 to 40 is
820.
1+40
2+39
3+38
....
....
so that progress to give you the sum as 20 times 41 that is 820.

and the sum of first 50 odd number is
50x50 = 2500. This holds good for 'n' numbers.
For example the sum of first 3 odd number is
1+3+5=9=3x3
1+3+5+7=16=4x4.
and so on...

Can a false fact (well thats an oxymoron!)be proved??..
think in Math its possible with the ambiguous state of Zero...
for zero is neither positive nor negative, not even not odd..neither prime nor compound..and so on..

Proving a false fact...
Can something be divided by zero?? theoretically may be, but it all become meaningless, as division is based on the concept of quantity. And zero, doesnt represent any quantity..for example, can we take zero choccys from a box??..(if its my box you must take only zero choccys!)

A very popular 'false fact' thats proved, and been in the net since a very long time is proving
1=2...
1. Start with "x = y"
2. Multiply both sides by x: "x2 = xy"
3. Subtract "y2" from both sides: ""x2 - y2 = xy - y2"
4. Factor: "(x+y)(x-y) = y(x-y)"
5. Divide both sides by the common factor "x-y": "x + y = y"
6. Since x=y, we can substitute y for x: "y + y = y"
7. Simplify: "2y=y"
8. Divide both sides by y: "2 = 1"
The problem, of course, is step 5: x-y = 0, so step five is dividing by zero. Since that's a meaningless thing to do, everything based on getting a meaningful result from that step is wrong - and so we get to "prove" false facts.

Writing a function as a sum of sines and cosines is called a Fourier series.
In fact, our ears do Fourier series automatically! There are little hairs (cilia) in our ears which vibrate at specific (and different) frequencies. When a wave enters our ear, the cilia will vibrate if the wavefunction "contains" any component of the correponding frequency! Because of this, we can distinguish sounds of various pitches!
