Do you have poems you wish to post,
About nature, love or even ghosts?
Well do so here,
And have no fear,
They will be read by most.

Greg's verse is a pretty good start -
to a Sudoku poetry cart.
We can here express -
about ghouls in Loch-Ness
to romance and affairs of the heart

I'm sure I have in my wee head
a little poem that no-one's read
but it won't budge, it won't come out
so maybe I'll just sit and pout!

Rayray your poem is very sweet
and talks of Nessie, what a treat!
ghouls in Loch Ness I've never seen
although down there I've often been!

Folks still do this sometimes today,
But poems flow less often,
Many flow form England's Rayray,
But several folks seem to have forgotten

That words in poems raise a smile,
They often get folks thinking,
When you post a poem, once in a while,
It keeps spirits high, not sinking.

What would be nice on this new special page,
Is to see many people add some words.
Poetry is such a nice way to engage,
Those special thoughts you just want heard.

The subject could be dogs or cats,
Or neighbors that upset you.
You could also write about rats or bats,
Or just the things you like to do.

So post a some poems for all to read,
And share your dreams with us,
You see, some folks on this site need,
To have that special extra plus.

Words from afar, about anything,
For some will lighten their heart.
And on this page, your words can ring,
Bring to all of us your own special art.

A poetry page
Why, how clever
Hope others will post their endeavors
I can't say that mine
Is especially prime
It's maybe too short
Or too dry
But, here it is
By golly, gee whiz
At least I gave it a try!

For a bet of a couple of quid,
a young lad climbed a pylon near Lydd.
That proved rather rash,
for in one blinding flash,
he was wired to the National Grid

A lama and barmama from Toyama -
enacted an extra-ordinary drama.
A girl sat up in her bed
awakened from the dead -
they'd poured whiskey on the poor girl to enbalm 'er.

A new day is finally dawning
Couldn't sleep,now find myself yawning
Done the puzzles on-line
Now I haven't got time
To sleep until it is morning

Christmas Brings Memories

Remember how excited you got as a child?
Wondering what morning would bring....
In the morning would you find something wooly and wild?
Or would you find you had been brought anything?

Do you remember helping to decorate the tree,
With home-made ornaments and the odd candy cane?
Paper rings, homemade stars, assorted pot-pouri,
Oh those memories so sweet still remain.

Then you grew older and you knew the real reason,
Why your parents worked hard for your joy,
For it was meant to be a very special season,
For all those little girls and little boys.

Then you grew older and you married a wife,
And you thought of the good things to come.
And then the two of you started new life,
A new generation had begun.

The Christmas spirit was passed on to the future,
Your children enjoyed the same glee,
The warmth of these memories bring nurture,
To everyone, but especially to me.

A four year old on a special Christmas morning,
Performing a her planned Christmas play,
And giving you a strong advance warning,
That this was your gift for today.

Her favorite doll was the Christ child,
Her favorite teddy bears the wise men,
And she was the angel, so sweet and so mild,
She brought you all those memories again.

Christmas is special, both spiritual and fun,
For all of the ageless children who believe,
And another Christmas season has just begun,
So let the children enjoy, as you only will leave...

Good memories for when they grow older,
Of a special day for them (and all) in the year,
As they grow they are stronger and bolder,
But they have memories of all the good cheer.

Those memories will stay with them always,
And in many years they will still remember when,
They celebrated Christmas in their young days,
And they'll remember again and wake with a grin.

It's Christmas time,
When families get together,
For some moments quite sublime,
And hope for things to get better.

But things are rough this year,
And many folks are despairing,
For they look around and fear,
That the economy is not faring...

As well as it could be.
And they clasp tightly to their savings,
For merchants don't give things for free,
But the television ads keep raving....

"There's big savings to be had.
Come out and spend your nickels,
You'll just make everything worse,
If you don't come spend and are fickle."

Sally is a single mother,
Who lost her job yesterday,
For her baby girl and her brother,
There won't be much on Christmas Day.

So those of us who come here,
And enjoy playing games every day,
I hope you think of spreading cheer,
And help those who have dismay.

Drop a coin or two in the hands of folks,
Who are begging on the street.
Give a friendly word, you'll be glad you spoke,
To those who feel their facing defeat.

Bring some food to the food banks,
Help those families in need,
You will only receive thanks,
For doing such a good deed.

Share your spirit of giving,
And smile when you do so,
You'll help people keep living,
And that is the Christmas spirit you know!

So who is this Obama, I just don't understand?
He is just another person, simply a man.
He's different, has features that many find grand,
And he offers a promise to his and our lands.

He will carry great burdens, and these his shoulders will bear.
But his words offer hope and tell folks they should not despair.
"Keep faith in the words written before, they were fair.
Work hard as a Nation and you can all help repair."

"The problems that ALL folks are facing, at home and away,
The things that depress us when we wake up each day.
Will be burdens we will conquer each and every day."
For all those who see promise, let's hope that you pray...

Look to your attitudes and glance at the whole scene.
When you say some good things, say what you really mean.
On the other side of the fence, the grass isn't always green.
But maybe we can all change things, making life more serene.

Good luck President Obama!

The Aussie Beach.

At the great Aussie beach, I see,
Wonderful things like the glittering white sand.
The salty sea with dolphins and fish of wonderful sizes,
And the big crowds that swim in the water.

At the beaches of Australia, I hear,
Great things like people talking in loud voices.
The waves that go crashing over our heads.
Hear the beautiful dolphins whistling to each other.

I feel happy at the Aussie Beach,
Shells and sand when I build great sandcastles,
Salty water as I swim. I feel the rocky
Surface of rocks when I climb them.

The things that I smell at the beach.
Are the salty water on the breeze and the fish
Frying on the barbecues.
Delicious picnics that people have prepared.

At the Australian beach the things I taste,
Is salty water that I accidentally swallow,
Fired, hot fish that has just been cooked.
And the picnic that has been prepared.

Spider monkey
Pot bellied
It has a long tail
Eats bananas
Rapidly moves

Mexico to Brazil it is found
On branches high in the trees
Nut and fruit it also eats
Kind and gentle when small
Each one is cute
Yet still hunted

The fragility of life
The fragility of culture
The fragility of the city
The fragility of privacy
The fragility of freedom
The fragility of existence
The fragility of the moment
The fragility of the individual
The fragility of body language
The fragility of communication
The fragility of human emotions
The force and fragilities of nature

Dr. Hugo Heyrman - a wonderful piece.

Nivi – A Silent Rapture, Rusticle of Pure White.

One tiny drop cascading down the breadth of silver twisted bark
creates the perfect snowflake icicle hanging by its web of cold
the rays of gold from sunlight movement catch the briefest of shadows
as a slight gust curls around the fronds of ice
whispering to its diamond edges shivers of pale night silently unspoken wrap
the delicate branch of natures perfection
Nivose has come early and painted its delicate shades on dappled bare branches
Quintidi is here. Silent as the tides of deserts long dried by heat in breathless wonder.

Autumnalis Frondesco

Dappled light October drifts, as gentle husks of shadows sit.
A leaf, painted with soft hues of yesteryear, in sepia moments.
Captured by the moonlight serenades of whispered winter stars.
The curl of her timeless edge not withered, but of life as she turns over
Veins pullulating sequins of spring, gentled in her narrows of Autumn
Golden in her splendour, striated pale in yellow, and a dust of green
She whiles at the edge of budding branch, holding, still, naked in her eye.
Her grasp slight as she kneels forward to release her season.
Waiting for the winds of eastern pleasure to float over her soft amulet to the ground.
Her seed unblemished, stored of tender shoots, waiting for the earth to gather her.
In the midst of spring, powdered breaths of April endowing her beauty in new leased passion.
She sits as a silent acorn to wait for that one moment, her summer, mitissime.

When I started reading this I said to myself:
"Without rhythm or rhyme -this isn't a poem - it's prose",
but after reading it right through, I concluded:
"Well I guess this is so good and moving it must be a poem and it so confirms 'poetic prose' as a worthy form of poetry. Imagine what it would be like with rhythm and rhyme. Wow - genius - but it would need a lot of work!
