Somewhere In Between Midnight and O'Clock

Submitted By: andré from england

You unlock this door with the key to imagination. Beyond it is another dimension - a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone......

Flérida, for me sweeter and tastier than the fruit in another's field, whiter than milk and more beautiful than the April meadow full of flowers

...Rather nice translated too.

I know not this post comes under which category
So here it is somewhere in between..
There is a query
Why one come here
Some said 'to know whats going on in the world'
Some to speak about their children (grand)and spouse
They expressed concern they had(about anything & everything)
shared the influence that shaped their lives
They yearned to interact, to be a part of the group
But then often fell outa loop
thru the holes pierced by the
Sarcastic sardonic ironic comments
Think we all have learnt to deal with it
Remember they also belong to the group
and lets enjoy them to
Avoid being left..
But learn to identify the real fun
And play the role that fits you the best..(be it anything).

I must go down to the sea again,
to the lonely sea and the sky;
I left my shoes and socks there -
I wonder if they're dry?

If you hear, in a brangling mung,
You're the butt of a winxing ong-tongue,
Lunge for her felly,
Aim for mouth or for belly
Till you've an assything wrung.

Don't sing this with your mouth full of pop-corn.

Tho' I've belted you and flayed you,
By the livin' Gawd that made you,
You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din!

A Lady, the wonder of her kind,
Whose form was upborne by a lovely mind
Which, dilating, had moulded her mien and motion
Like a sea-flower unfolded beneath the ocean.

Whether that Lady's gentle mind,
No longer with the form combined
Which scattered love, as stars do light,
Found sadness, where it left delight.

Things that go 'bump' in the night
Should not really give one a fright.
It's the hole in each ear
That lets in the fear,
That, and the absence of light!

Wait for me
Along the blue line of the horizon
That leads the silver path
of the moon
To the glittering fountains
of stars,
And by the waterfalls of dawn
At the moment when the sun rises
And draws the threads of light...

Wait for me
At the bright end of my voice
That from above the mysteries
of the galaxies
Flows down to the earth
To be absorbed by the buds of growth
And to give the slumberers
of the gardens
Tidings of sunshine and life.

The Last Laugh by John Betjeman.
(I like it a great deal).

I made hay while the sun shone.
My work sold.
Now, if the harvest is over
And the world cold,
Give me the bonus of laughter
As I lose hold.
