A hidden triple occurs when 3 cells in a unit (a row, column or box) contain between them 3 digits which appear nowhere else in the unit. If there are other candidate digits in these 3 cells, then this is a hidden triple. If there are no other candidates then this is a naked triple. I have an online javascript solver which has detailed help for each technique including examples at www.philsfolly.net.au. Hope this helps.

I use this technique in my brain to solve the puzzle in my mind. It helps solve the hard and tough puzzles to know what numbers are not available to use.
