June... during the worst of the weather, the cattle do have access to shelter in sheds. Right now the main herd has the woods for shelter, and heavy thick coats. The calves and the new cows do have shelter under roofs now. But it isn't feasible to provide sheds in all pastures for ~80 head of cattle.

Rena... it was great being able to see all those pictures of you and Amber that Rolanda took. It looks like you had fun visiting.

Amber had a great time at the beach. She loves digging in the sand. The waves weren't very big though. I asked if she wanted to go up in the plane but she would have had to go without me so she didn't want to.

excelent Amber, glad you had a great time at the beach.. and yes, I know you love digging in the sand.. you did so at Fremantle Beach, where you got an unexpected soaking, and at Cottesloe Beach.

Liz, I know I could have managed but did not want the stress of a lot of last minute details. I thought I would have had Laura today but her father is at home(generally works Saturdays). I have to be here Monday to take her swimming. If I went to Melbourne I would have had to see my grandsons so hard to do in the time.

Also want to get this wall painted. I have now washed sanded and given the woodwork the first undercoat. Hubby is going to Taiwan on 10th. so need the cupboards back and organised before he goes! I might paint some more of the room while he is away. The computer desks are on wheels and east to move.

Heidi I was not sure how cold it gets where you are. Our cattle had no shelter but then we did not get snow etc. Just some very heavy frosts.

It's hard to explain how cold it gets here. No winter is like the previous. Some are cold, some are wet, some are dry. We haven't had any significant snowfall in 8 years. Significant meaning that the driveway has to be plowed (by me). If it snows here. it melts in a day or 3, generally. The biggest worry is freezing rain. We have a lot of ice storms.

Heidi, that is one reason I am glad I live in South Florida. I don't think I could do ice and snow well. It would be a great place to visit.

That's a fun thing about Kentucky weather. It changes so frequently, and so dramatically, that you never get tired of anything (except MUD).

I think I'm gonna feed the dogs now, then go to bed really early. I've been very busy lately, and it's taken a lot our of me.

Jumping in without both feet, have not caught up. Lets se, Gail is having a huge bash for RENA and today is the day.

I have been so buy today, you cannot imagine. I brought home the carcus of the T-giving bird. So i started today pressure cooking the skin, bones and fatty meat. I have 3 quarts of rich turkey stock now, tomorrow will freeze it in portions, it is excelent for soup and gravy and such. Got about 6 cups of bits and bites of turkey, also. had some with leftovers from our wonderful meal yesterday for our tea today.

What else? I had gone across the road from my nephews, to " the Owl Farm", and cut lovely evergreens, short needles pines and cedar, for my smells good arrangements. what is the Owl Farm? About 8 acres of " unbuildable" property, side of a very steep hill, that Sister an BIL bought. Said they should let it sit there and nurture the owls who roost there, hence the name. What else??

Hubby and i had to go through bills, and se what neded paying now. I have not kept up very well, thought we were in danger of being disconnected from services, NOPE we are fine hehehe. We did write the three things currently needing paying.

Went to store for a couple things, and of course spent too much, once again.

Al put my tree up for me, I found some luchious fabric that I hav NO idea where it come from, to use as the skirt on my tree. Ruby red and Sphire blue Pa;isly, yumy stuff and it looks so nice under tree. We got down the ornaments, and i have them sorted, so i make sure I get ALL the olored ones on, leaving the crystam and gold ones for filling in.

This is about the busiest day I have had in AGES. Feels good getting some things dome.

Look what I found hiding on my computer other day? I need to take it down to AVATAR size, well for after Christmas, I suppose.

Tami, thank you, it was really a great day. Maybe i am over being " sick" at least for a while now, and can get back to living again.

If you are taking care of yourself, and keeping up with the meds, you are bound to feel better. You once said you are like a mother hen, well I guess that means I can act like your baby chick and remind you to take care of yourself.

Tami, did you fine something for a Chanukah avatar? I think I found a menorah when looking through my graphics program, would you lkie that??

thanks Tami, I am really trying to take care of me. Meds on time, meals on time, keeping BS low like doc wants it. Getting enough sleep, and some exercise, so, about all I can do I imagine.

No I haven't found one yet, but I haven't really looked. I would love the menorah. Thanks.

You are doing what you should be doing. My mom is very strict about her diet and only needs to test her blood sugar 3 times a week. I give her a lot of credit, she is really good about what she eats.

MizT, don't forget, you are supposed to send my your cornbread/sage stuffing recipe.
