MORNING SUDOLULAND! I am having morning coffee, so the pot is on for any needing nourishment.
Well, looks like Rolanda had plenty of time to eat that last slice hehehe. It has been an hour and a half since she posted. I am sure I could not have patiently wanted for her to come for my leftover cheesecake that long!
Boy, what a difference a good night's sleep can make. I came in last night tired, did the nightime meds and treatments, and poured myself into my bed by 9:30pm. Woke today fresh and rested, so I do not think I over did the outting. I had a comfy chair with a plush cusion, refrained from picking up the newest baby, about 6 weeks old.
The after rehersal dinner was nice, catered by a local BBQ resturant, but they had lovely salads to go with the cold meats, and you culd choose to make a sandwich or a plate. I did a small garden salad with BBQ chicken and then their BBQ sauce for a dressing, with key lime pie for desert, yummy! Even though the pie slice was small, I am sure it haad about 3 times the calories of my salad and a 3 day supply of fats, but worth every bite! AND the lime in it had vitamine C, the healing vitamin, that makes it healthy, and counts as a fruit, right??
I shall have to remember to make a date with hubby to go there for desert when we are out shopping in that area. No, not to the wedding chapel, but to the resturant that catered.
Huumm, maybe I should volunteer to help store some of the left over foods, since the bride and groom will have MORE leftovers to deal with after the wedding dinner. and perhaps noone will take a good invontory of what they send, ya think?

BEAN, loved the new avatar, half baked for sure hehehe
I totally missed pirate day, let that one slip up on me for sure!
VICI, ask RENA is she knows what a " situpon" is and has ever heard that phrase "I'll sit upon my situpon" . I asked my daughter if she remembered, and she did, although it was about 29 years ago.
She was seven at the time.
HEIDI, how did the round up go? " working cattle" is really a hard job, those cows just do not cooperate.
BECKY, been thinking about you sweetie, I knew about that storm. Not a lot of news coverage for your storm, but I have a copule of quilting buddies in Ohio. One is still without electric, phone, cable TV, internet and WATER, they have a well. Thier utility had sent assistance to the gulf coast, so they HOPE to get thier power back by this comming Monday. Other friend, power was off exactly 24 hours, she did not have to reset clocks hehehe. LOTS of damage reported, but both those friends also escaped. Did you get rain with your storm? One friend got lots, other just a dry howling wind.

JUNE, yes, a good bonus, the no housework. but it will all be there when I recover, unless I call my very part time cleaning lady. HOPE she can come and get me caught up again.
So happy Sharon is well enough to go home and yes, time for her partner to step up to the plate. You have done such a good job and it is time you and hubby have some ME time. A day out will do you good, glad you are going.

BTW So not here! It is date night and the internet has been acting like a dead dog for a day or so and hubby and I are just checking it out trying to find out the results of tonight's footy game.
Sudoku.com.au seems to be working ok but cannot find out which team has gone into the grand final with Geelong next week!

Just found out! Not the way I hoped it would be but there you go. My team, the mighty
got booted out a couple of weeks ago so it really makes no never mind to me. I had hoped though that St Kilda would get in so that their veteran player, Robert Harvey, might have the chance to retire with a grand final under his belt, but it was not meant to be. Sorry Robert.

Just popping in before I go off to paint more...at least today I get to paint with a color - a lovely aqua blue for one of the bathrooms.
Mariana - I don't think we'll be able to do your place - YIKES! it sounds like a bigger job than I had anticipated. Why don't you just skip town with us and we'll worry about your painting later?

VICI and Heidi, sorry I missed you.
I could not get on site going through AOL and IE, so backed out and tried Mozilla and got here fast and easy.
OK Vici, Since you could not find RENA to ask, I will tell you. Back when my girls were second graders, they were in brownies, 10 years apart. First thing they did the start of a new year, for I know over 10 years for Brownies, was a craft project with newspapers, lots and lots of newspapers. Each girl had to count out I forget just how many sheets of paper, would say 2, then fold them just so. It is a big version of folding gum paper to weave into a ring or bracelet, remember that?
OK, they had to fold and fold, to make a LOT of these long, thick strips. Then they were woven together and the ends were somehow tucked and secured. they made a square about 18 by 18 inches (Half a meter ) These were then used throughout the year, A SITUPON! there was a song that went with it, something about sitting upon my situpon. Girls used them every time they had to sit on floor or on grass.
Guess you were not a Brownie scout, or maybe this was a local, not nationwide, project hehehe.

RUBY, I made hay last time I mowed, we had so much rain and therefore growth. It gonna be that way again if it were mowed now. Well, when hubby gets a check in here, I hope to get BOY back to do some mowing and weed eating.
BOY is one of 3 brothers or cousins, that live not far from us, and are always willing to do some extra work. So many teens now just will not work, not even for good wages. These teens will work, for not so good wages that I can afford hehehe.
RUBY, The rehearsal and ceremony are for neighbors, about retirement age. Been living together without the relationship being blessed, because she would loose her Widows benefits from military pension if she marries again fore she is some age they set. So they are doing a commitment ceremony.

Everybody cross your fingers. I just tried making a couple of Pumpkin pies... FROM SCRATCH... something I never attempted before. I had to skip the Ginger, 'cause I didn't have any, and hadn't noticed it in the recipe when I went shopping for ingredients. They're in the oven now, so we'll see what happens.
I'm not holding into a lot of hope.

MizT,
We are getting a girl in to mow the back lawn. She has long white hair that hasn't been brushed in a while and could do with some attention, she's a bit long in the tooth and quiet, and sometimes she misses bits we wish she hadn't. When she's done we'll have to clean up after her as she deposits processed grass clippings in piles around the yard, but we'll be able to use those clipping to make our gardens grow.

HEIDI, Pumpkin pie, sounds yummy. It has been a while since I made one myself. I think you have inspired me, but not today. I just finished a piece of pumpkin cake, it was really good. If you have more pumpkin and need another recipe let me know. This one is no fat low sugar, lots of fiber, make in a rectangular pan and slice into bars kind of thing. Healthy and good. Not sure if I put it into the recipe files or not.
Did I say I am having puter problems? Besides the AOL thing? Hubby thinks my putter might be on it's last legs, mother board. He got to checking and it has been on this machine for too too many years! He needs to order a few parts to upgrade this one, had a new board but never as easy as one part, of course it needs a few more things to go with.
SUZY, sorry you need the stool to keep you awake today. Hope you get your sleep straightened out soon.

MizT, your comments about lazy teenagers reminded me of something that happened last Friday. Ebob got her NAPLAN results that day, a national test that has just been implemented replacing some old national tests. There is a teacher at bowling and we asked him for some help interpreting the results. For the next 30 or 40 minutes we got to listen to the 'kids today' lecture. It even continued when we managed to get to our cars! BTW, this guy would be 40-something.....

SUZY, love it, like your white haired girl to mow your back grass. Our neighbor that is doing the non wedding had a couple of girls like that, and their boyfriend. They preferred the trees and shrubs to the grass, but neighbors fed them a commercial feed, so I do not think they were hungry enough to mow much grass hehehe. My sister once tried the same. We will not go into their tragic demise. Good luck with your white haired girl and yes, the packaged grass clippings will do wonders for your garden. Recycling at it's best.
Who was it one day last week talking about compost pile? I think it was here someone mentioned it. LOVE composting, did it for several years till old author made it too uncomfortable for me. While I was making flower beds with compost, my flower garden was the best i ever had.

VICI, Aqua is a good color for a bathroom. Reminds me of the sea, water, and it is tranquil and peaceful. I do not like LOUD bathrooms, now that I am up to use the facilities during the night. Want to remail nearly asleep so it is easy to fall back in bed and be asleep fore the covers get warm again.

MizT, hubby is worried about the buds on our new maple, but our girl has been in before and didn't touch it when they were leaves so I have my fingers crossed...
I worry that she will take off with the clothes on the line. The poor thing is nekkid most of the time. It's only in the very cold or very wet weather that she is given a coat to wear.
