I'm picturing Gail like the cartoon Tassie devil...I've done that before - can get a lot done quickly, but am so tired after that. As a matter of fact, I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
Think I'll call it a night. Long flight tomorrow so I better get some sleep!
Hugs for DUGs and topsiders alike!
PS - I don't own crocks, either.

Congrats on the TOPP Beanie Baby!
I just realized that my talk about Gail could sound like I'm refering to her date night!!!
I was refering to the cleaning - LOL!
OK - on that note - nighty-night, all.

well, that's just great!!! you are all abandoning me and giving up on the TL movie. can't say i blame you. i don't want to do it either.
yes, leather floors. they feel great on bare feet. my hubby did some engineering for a tannery and traded for leather squares. they are really thick and wear like a saddle. i got an estimate from a flooring place that does them and they bid just the master bedroom out at 30,000 dollars! we got ours for 7 hrs. of work. an incredible deal. yep 30 doors. that includes exterior and interior. i am not looking forward to finishing those!

Hi everyone. Just popping in for a minute. Was planning on spending some time here, but have had a headache all day.
Thanks everyone for the well-wishes.
MizT, we didn't get much rain from the storm, just a enough to settle the dust from the wind. Ohio had 2-3 million households without power at one point. There's still areas around us that are still out. The last I read between 500,000 to 1 million in the state are still in the dark.
Well, off to bed for me. Hope this is gone by morning.

Evening all!
The four legged lawn mower is an old horse belonging to a neighbour. She spent a little time in our back paddock last week and it really perked her up so she should do well in the yard which is even greener.

Haven't read the comments for a couple of days. Life is getting in the way of fun right now as I am running around with errands, house 'stuff', etc., before leaving early Tuesday morning.....Wanted to say hello and hope all is well and stays wellon SA6. Since I see Gail is talking about food and Suzy is talking about booking rooms, it seems as if things are good. Super! Peace all.

POSTING WITHOUT READING
We are having problems with internet access today. Hubby is working to find the problem and repair. Not sure what is going on or why, but seems the system works better when my computer is OFF or not signed on to AOL and MSN. Good thing I have Mozilla, but cannot get to my e-mail. So if I bounce on and off the site today that is why.
OH BOY did I sleep well last night! I did a lot of resting yesterday and thought I would be unable to sleep last night, nope. Slept right through the night, most unusual to not wake at least once for the loo.
I had a small problem that is common around day 10 when you have dissolvable stitches. They dissolve and leave incision weaker. I had a bit of spotting. A day of rest with feet up seems to have done the trick. And no was not anything I did or did not do, this just happens, sometimes. Sent hubby on off to the non wedding, and he had a great time, the minister did show up for any following that soap opera, so he did not have to read the ceremony for them. He said everything went well, I am just sorry I had to miss it.

MARIANA, leather floors, sounds wonderful and love the price of them hehehe. full thickness leather squares? WOW, that is a lot of leather. Just wonder what spiked high heels would do ? Bedroom will become a no shoes room?
LIZ, MAMA, sorry to have missed you! Hope you have a great trip Mama, and hope you can check in with us while there, if only to let us know you arrived safely.
LIZ, you can come clean here once you finish your spring cleaning. I need fall cleaning fore we have to close up and stay inside more all winter/
Hubby loves to trade, has traded services or years ago, hubby-reconditioned copy machines and/or a service contract on same, for autos, auto body work. legal and accounting services, dental work, a hot tub (my favorite) and his daughter.
JUNE sorry about your loosing at bowls, but hope you enjoyed the day at least, watched TV? OH MY you did get to relax. And sleep with a girl in your bed? The first time they do that, it is soo sweet and you cuddle and love it, precious moments. Begins to get tiresome having your sleep interrupted after a few nights. I think how many depends on our age somewhat hehe
About power outage, my friend in OHIO e-mailed last night, they had power again! she was sooo excited. Had a long list of things she was going to do first hehehe. Dish washing in HOT water was one. Poor dear, has never camped, and did not know the secret of washing dishes in cold water, said they felt like they had a coat of grease/oil on them. AMMONIA, I keep a bottle just for that reason, only a couple drops and dishes in cold water are sparkling clean!
Forget what else I was going to say, but must get up from here and get things done.
See you later,
Tricia

Morning MzT - so glad you made it through that day 10 ordeal and are moving on. Thank goodness you are sleeping so well. You are really a miracle!
I get to do a "Gail" today! I'm going to lunch with a girlfriend!!! Then we are going to see the new Coen brothers' film with
. No, we're not actually GOING there with him...he's in the movie. Apparently he got out of Gail's pool long enough to make a new film

No painting until tomorrow...then I'll be finished with the addition (as Suzy says, knock wood).
June - sorry about the bowls, but glad to hear you have your house back to yourselves for now.
Becky - amazing story about the power outages...and really got a giggle about your friend, Tricia. I've been a camping kind of person for so long that it didn't occur to me what that might be like for citified folk.

I figured out that Suzy's lawn mower was 4 legged. but I assumed that it was a sheep. They also fertilize while mowing. Horses fertilize a bit too thick.
Gotta go. Need to stack hay in the barn loft.

Morning all!
It's only sort of a holiday - Ebob is playing baseball in Port Macquarie (Viv's home town) and we are going up to watch. Unfortunately Viv refused to change her plans so she could be there while I was. How rude!
Heidi, don't sheep pull grass out by it's roots? Horse fertiliser is a lot of work to rearrange, but it will take a lot less time than it would take for hubby to mow the lawn.

HEIDI, I am like you, thought it was a foat myself, cause that is what neighbors had that would eat everything except grass. Maybe a horse would be better.
NOPE, not me, hubby cut the back yard, well, he mowed the hay. Lovely smell in the air now. Front is not too bad, centipede and not a lot of rain lately it is growing OUT not up. I can walk to car and office now without wading through the wet grass and getting wet to the knees. HURRAY for hubby!

SUZY, when we lived on a farm near here, with cattle in the pasture, they had this contraption built from chain and auto tires that they pulled behind a tractor to redistribute the cow fertilizer. but then, if you made a mini to run behind your lawn mower, might as well cut the grass, right?

June, 2 more days off! Yay! We want to look after our kids, but at the same time, I think 'me' time is important for recovery! I have had mine home for over a week between them and am soooooo looking forward to the next few days. The house looks like a bomb hit it and I will be able to spend some time cleaning up the sick rooms, wet rooms etc. That might not sound like fun, but after last week.....

Tee hee MizT. I also don't want to fertilise the grass in the back yard. It grows far too quickly and well as it is!! The gardens on the other hand do need a bit of feritilising, though I will have to wait a bit for the reprocessed grass to 'age'.
We don't have a ride on mower yet so it takes hours to mow the lawn. A winter mow when the grass is just a little messy takes about 3 hours (including taking the grass clippings away). In summer it can be twice that!

MizT, I'm sorry you had to miss the commitment ceremony. Over here I think if you live with someone in a defacto relationship that is the same as being married in terms of benefits. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty single mothers can't claim to be single mothers if they are living with someone. Not a roommates kind of deal, but a relationship...
