Jumping in here to say so long for a few days..off to California until Saturday...most likely not back on site until Sunday or Monday if I'm lucky....Have spent all day at a couple of vets offices..Jazz started to have seizures last night, and I was up ALL night with him. The Vet thinks he has epilepsy, had to then take him to a 24 hour facility for around the clock care...designate someone to act as my advocate while I'm away, and will still be in touch via cell phones...quite harried since I must be up at 5 A.M and its now 10 P.M. I'm too wired to sleep or even rest.I feel Jazz is in good hands and pray for the best..need your voices added to mind if you are so inclined...and you guys are always ready to give love and comfort..so an early heartfelt thanks to all. Peace!

When I was a little kid (5) my mom painted the den teal, and with the burgundy furniture, it always felt calm and relaxing for watching TV. The room had good natural light and never felt dark.

Hello, y'all!

I thought my dog had epilepsy until I realized it was panic attacks. She thought I was going to put her out into hurricane Hugo which hit us that night with 125 mph winds.

Mama.... Have a great trip. Good luck with Angelique.... you will let us know what happens with her, won't you?
You have left Jazz in good hands. I once had a Collie with epilepsy, diagnosed as an adult. She was put on phenylbarbatol, and once we got her leveled out, she lived a normal, happy life, and lived to a ripe old age. She was on 5 pills a day for 8 years, and as long as she got her pills, never had another seizure.

Thanks folks..I will let you know what's happening on all fronts once I return.
Vici..left a respone to the pink color..I like it, but if its too much for you having the whole bathroom that color...just paint one wall, as an accent and the other walls can be be a softer color or non-color.

Mamacita - will anxiously await word about Anqelique and keep Jazz in my prayers.
Thank you all for all the great feedback! I have a lot to work with thanks to all your suggestions. I'm going to sit with it for a couple of days although I'm going to stop by the place that has the paint and see what the next shade lighter in that scheme looks like.
I will definitely keep you up dated.

Vici, will send you some pics of my house when I get home tonight, we do not have a white wall or ceiling in the whole house. Might give you some ideas.
OH! D & D have done it again. Never followed up on the excess internet usage and guess what? Yep slow internet again...we do have reprive but will not last long if I cannot figure out what is happening, so down tools on catch up mode and try and sort this out. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Mama safe travels, you have Jazz in the best place.

Just flying by. Posting this morning motivated me a little. I've spent a couple of hours reviewing old assignments to get back into 'theory of teaching' mode. I need to remember all the buzz words. Markers like buzz words! Now I am going to reward myself with a nice soak in the tub, and try not to be jealous of renovated bathrooms.....

hi dear ladies. i have not had a chance to read. but, i did want to check in. i'm sure you are all sick with worry about me. we had a great visit with hubby/dad home. good food and lots of play. the left at 4 this morning and at 9 i flew to los angeles to check my doors before they shipped. after nine months they still didn't have the whole order ready and what was done was done wrong! after some fit throwing on my part i might see some results within the week. if not?....ciao door ding dongs! they will have to eat their costs and i will find a different company to work with. such a frustrating day! and the flight was terrible too. on the bright side, my sis and big kids really came through with taking care of the kids and home. the house was clean and the kids were safe. i am too tired to think. good night. i will catch up with you tomorrow.

Hi all.

I'm still counting our lucky stars. We had it a lot easier than many folks. After we lost power a few years back because of a snow storm, we bought a generator and had an electrician install a curcuit breaker box for it. The kitchen, an outlet in the living room and furnace are hooked up to it. Our stove and furnace are both gas. All we have to do is start the generator, plug it into the house and flip a switch. Almost all of our neighbors have grills, but did offer the use of my stove.

Hubby and I went for a "tour" yesterday and was surprised how many people still did not have electricity and the number of roads that were still blocked. I wanted to take pictures, but our batteries are dead and the stores are all sold out. Glad that I "threatened" the city's public service department or we might be in the same boat.

I think I've finally caught up on all the news here.

Mamacita, so sorry to hear the news about Angelique. My first thought was that maybe a daycare worker might have been a little rough while changing diapers. Keeping good thoughts going that way. Will also keep Jazz in my thoughts.

Suzy, get moving on your paper. Just think, no more belly busters.

Gail, great news about Scrappy.
For a lot of congestion, I use cough syrup with guaifenesin. It makes the cough more productive and helps clear out the sinuses too.

June, was concerned when you posted that Sharon went back to the hospital, but it sounds like everything's under control now. Glad to hear that they put off Lauren's surgery. It's not good to spread yourself too thin. We can't have you getting sick. Glad that you're getting a couple of days off.
Hope you're able to get more oranges. Had a problem a few years back with the squirrels picking my tomatoes, taking
one bite, then dropping it onto the ground. Bought whirlie-gigs and placed them near all the plants.

Brenda, sorry to hear about Celia. It's hard when the person needs help, but is too bull-headed to admit it. Guess they think it's a sign of weakness and/or afraid of being put into a nursing home.

Mariana, hope you're feeling better. Hate getting summer colds. Sounds like you had a rough day. Keep the chin up, it'll all work out.

MizT, good news about your test results. Thought about making a "cute" comment. But, figured you might not find it too punny.

Julie, know I've missed you, but hope you have a good time with the family.

Stella, nice to see you back and hope you're on the mend.

Rolanda, sounds like you had a nice time with the picnic.

Vici, took a look at your pics of the colors. I was thinking maybe a mauve or a light rose color would look good, but then I'm not into bright colors.

Vici, if I were going to change that color I would go darker, not lighter. Too much lighter and you are going to get Pepto Bismol, YUCK.

Check out that color wheel, number 9. if you look at the bigger color, you see hot pink. If you go to the outside rim, the pepto bysmol color. If you go toward the center, you see your color toned down. Try about half way toward the center, one I call raspberry, now that is the color I would pick if I were going to change the bathroom color.

Your beautiful windows let in a lot of light, and the current color bounces it around, upbeat, bright, zingy, bouncy, modern. The Raspberry color is more mature, sedate, stately, regal, classic. My kind of color for sure.

Just my not so humble opinion, but you asked.

This site can be so worrying. Shosho sending her son to Iraq, Peter sending his to the Solomons, Mamacita's grandie getting funny looks from the docs, Angelique's fractures and Jazz's seizures, Heidi needing retests, Sharon rushing back to hospital for a while, Laura needing surgery, June's back, Viv's op, Broni's op, MizT's op, Brenda's friend, various reno nightmares, sick children, bullied children ...

I find it fantastic that amongst all of this, we laugh, joke, support, cheer, congratulate and remember. No wonder I like coming here....
