Suzy, saw the post number so posted before I went back and read 3 pages of comments.
Weatherwise it has been a lovely day. Went to lunch with hubby to nearby Rugby Club which is getting a very good reputation for good food at good prices.
Visited MIL
Then Hubby did the lawns while I cleaned up the back yard next door. They will be home tomorrow from a 75 day cruise.
We had a big lunch so now think of something easy for dinner.

Sounds like a bit of the weather and a bit the company then June.

Hubby has just arrived home and might get offended if I blow him off for the internet on our first kid free night so I had better go.

Have a great evening everyone!

I have finally caught up wit all the recent chatter. It has taken me an hour, but my memory being what it is I cannot remember names so. Anyone who is ill or had ops then I hope everything is getting better.
Today I was supposed to be having a workman free day, but the window fitter arrived later than he expected and it got too dark for him to finish the job last night, so he will be calling today to seal the window frame. The bathroom suite was delivered yesterday, minus the head rests for the bath they will be coming later. the plasterer still hasn't shown up to have a look at what he needs to do next week. I'm sure that everything will be lovely when it is done but I am fed up of all the dust.

thank you for all the good wishes for Celia, she has finally been moved to the other hospital to go in to a specialist stroke ward. Now instead of a 10 min drive to see her I have one of 10miles and probably a couple of miles walk as there is never a parking place near the hospital.

Bad news about the renos Brenda. I really think, going on all the experiences here in Sudokuland, that I will never, ever renovate anything!

Sending positive vibes for Celia's recovery.

Mariana, I think it is so neat your son likes buying his own clothes and will do a fashion show for you! I love to see a neatly dressed teen.

SUZY, I remember my Dad took my oldest off camping with family , at an early age, still car seat. it was only for a weekend and she was not on her own, as your girls are, so big difference. But I remember waving her goodbye!

GAIL, where did you and hubby have lunch? Oh the sacrifices we make for our children, taking them out to lunch, how tiring, NOT!

BRONI, make signs to show your guests the way . . . imagine that advice is too late now, sorry!

RUBY used the C word first and brought me back to reality. Here I thought it was still summer! Well, this morning removed that idea also, temps down to 8C, 46F, a bit chill start for today seems more like December!

Eaa, did not recognize you this morning, miss the furry little nose. Your new critter will take some getting accustomed to. I never seem to be around when you are, was hugging my pillow still then.

Blackberries, it does not take long for those to take over! here the best time to spray them is spring, when new growth starts. They take in the chemicals through the new leaves better and take straight to roots and die off. We fight an ongoing battle with blackberries. Hubby thinks mowing them down will end them. Hubby is wrong.

BEAN, birds made a mess of my concrete drive and sidewalk back when, after eating the purple berries of the lirope, monkey grass, or the purple berries of polk salad plant.

SUZY, a horse in the house if a bit much! Glad she stopped short of entering.

OH, took me a minute to realize you were talking about someone else's husband, SUZY,

SOUP sounds just the ticket now, anyone have a breakfast soup recipe? it will be warm and sunny at dinner time and about when the sun heats up the house too warm. I refuse to have heat in the AM and AC in the PM, so for a few days i am cool mornings and warm just before dusk.

Maen all! Thanks for the coffee MzT. Looks like I missed ya-all while I read what I had missed.
Thanks to all for your well wishes for Mike. He was doing pretty well yesterday. Didn't take a pain pill until bedtime. I suspect his had will be more sore today...but he's not awake yet for me to report on.
The hardest part of all this so far is how he's having to get use to living with one arm - and his non-dominant hand. Right now it's a bit of a novelty to him...I'm sure that will wear off into a cranky mood soon enough!

Rolanda - I have always wanted to take off during the "C" holidays for weeks - I'm oh-so-jealous!!!
Brenda - your reno is moving along so much faster than ours. Can't wait to see your pictures.
Mariana - have seen pictures of your handsome son and can only imagine how GQ he looks!
June - take it easy with all that gardening girl!
It does feel good to get those weeds out - today I mow the lawn and go to war on the moles and gophers who are reeking havoc in my yard!

I have been warring with them all summer - it has been so dry that they have taken over my landscaping! Never had them before - it's making me crazy! Only caught one with a trap so far...don't know if the poison has worked on any of them. After I use it (which is WAY too expensive) there is no activity for a bit, then they seem to come back. Very frustrating!
