MizT.... if parking is THAT bad in your area, maybe I should forget the RV and just drive down there in my truck to visit. Do you have a spare bed?

I have 4 more shifts before having a month off.
Need it too as I am so tired all the time.
My neighbor with dementia, is having a rough time. Every couple of days, she relives the diagnosis because she has forgotten. Dr has just started her on some meds that might help with the depression.
Flooded house is still an ongoing saga, always a hold up with something. At the moment it is an electrical fault and some of the kitchen has to come out again.
I am now trying to prove that Judy was capable of making a new will, because the Death Cert said she died of a brain tumor. So, lots going on here.

Heidi, I have no spare beds,
not even the sofa you slept on at my house before. I have one queen sized bed and the 2 recliners I had, a desk chair, and 2 dining chairs. Not even room to put down a blow up bed and then walk around it. That is why I thought your driving the RV was such a great idea. Let me find out about parking near here, I will find something in close proximity. There has to be something, I have just not tried to park an RV before
I will ask Shannon when she comes back Monday, she knows everything hehehe.
How are you on freeway driving? You can get from a freeway exit to my apartment is 5 minuets, and less than half a mile, and one traffic light where you must make the one turn. Traffic is not bad at all, a bit steady at rush hour, but otherwise it is easy. Mapquest has good directions right to my door.
I tried sending a link for that map, they do not send correctly.
Lunch was fun, I will tell you about it later. Ernest did go, seemed to enjoy it, even joined in the talk before it was over. I imagine I am being talked about now. yesterday I spent half an hour with Warner in the garden, within view of half the residents windows here, and today I was at table with Warner and Ernest and Joy and another resident, Bernice. I had my daughter as a chaperone, perfectly acceptable at lunch, even for a Southern belle hehehe

I am very surprised that I am still logged on.
It is extremely dry here on the East Coast of Australia. Some of my trees have died as I cannot keep up with the watering.Looks like being a terribly hot summer with bushfire risks.
June..Laura must have thoroughly enjoyed watching the fireworks on Sydney Harbor.Quite spectacular even on the TV, but being there, would have been so much better.

Rolanda... Greg and I were hoping to get into a resort on the Sat but there wasn't a vacancy. So now, we will leave at around 6am and drive to Brisbane on the day of the meeting.
It is around a 4 hour trip from Bundaberg, so plenty of time incase of hold ups, like road works and pit stops. Could even get lost too. Cyn has given us a map and we have GPS,so we will get there eventually.

I would love to travel to Brisbane and join you all but it is our Golden Wedding anniversary on the Saturday (19 October). My sister and her husband are taking us out for dinner on the Saturday night.
If Sharon was here she would have organised something but the other two are a bit hopeless doing anything like that. Anyway I do not want a big celebration without Sharon.
I was going to go and do some shopping today but I was rather dizzy when I got up this morning so I did not think driving to the shops such a good idea. I do feel OK now, but not enthusiastic enough to do the pile of ironing waiting for me!

June,, good idea, not to travel so soon after having general anesthetic.
Many congratulations for your upcoming Golden Wedding Anniversary!!!!
We can understand you not wanting a big celebration.
The ironing can wait until you feel up to it.
I just ironed only 1 shirt for today and then turned the iron off. That is terrible.

Nola and June, you are much better than I am. I do not iron, buy wrinkle free clothes, wash and wear. If by chance trousers have hung to long on a hanger and wrinkle a bit, I have a steamer. Once I would just toss in dryer for 5 minuets for that, but to inconvenient and expensive to run to laundry room for wrinkles.

I only have a minute. We have Tahli, which was arranged before. Dana had a healthy baby boy last night. We didn't know she was pregnant even though she was here all day last Saturday. She has apparently not known for long and was going to tell us when she had a due date. She had absolutely nothing for him but by this morning a car seat, a bassinet and a bunch of clothes were promised to her. Oh and a double stroller. Gotta go

Suzy, what a shock that must have been for you, 'Mom, I am pregnant and I am in labor.' I would be so upset, confused, happy and sad at the same time, find it hard to believe, not yet seem real and about a dozen other feelings all at once. I imagine you feel a couple of those or some of your own. And no time to think about them since you are caring for your granddaughter. If you want to share any of your feelings with us, you know we are here.
I remember how I felt when my daughter who lives in Connecticut, the one I had not seen in a couple of years, told me I had a 4 month old grandson. What you are feeling must be so much more.
More hugs to you, your daughter, the grandson and the rest of your family also.
Cannot go to sleep tonight, none of my 'let's stop hurting and get sleepy now' tricks are working.

Hi, Everyone! Another quick visit tonight, I'm afraid.
Broni, thanks so much for the encouraging words!
June, get plenty of rest! So far results sound promising. Removal of a polyp is a good thing, as is staying up-to-date with PAP smears. Seems like the specialist will help to make sure everything is as it should be.
Suzy, I think most of us aren't sure how to react. I hope your grandson is healthy and the Mom and her parents are doing well.
Heidi and MIzT, we're getting excited for you! Just a bit more than a week away!
MizT, I hope you, Joy, Ernest and the other residents enjoyed the gumbo lunch and soft jazz! Perhaps getting Ernest to join one activity will be the introduction he needs to other activities there.
Very sensible TOPP for this page, Heidi! Thanks!
It's wonderful to see you here, Nola! Great news that you have just 4 more shifts before your time off begins! Not so great news about the repairs on the flooded house. Hoping that gets cleared up quickly! Here's hoping that the situation with Judy's will can get cleared up without too much effort! You REALLY do need some time off!
Rolanda, how exciting that you're also getting closer to your flight!
June, how wonderful that your and Ken's 50th anniversary is so close Many congratulations to both of you, and hopefully a lovely dinner with your sister and BIL!
Suzy, thanks for sharing a bit more information with us, especially that your grandson is healthy, as hopefully is D! What a shock for all of you! It's a good thing you are so resilient! As MizT says, we are all here for you. Hang in there, Grandma!
Sending an especially large set of {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}},

Suzy, in spite of your shock, congratulations on your new grandson. I am perplexed at her not knowing especially as she was having problems with a cyst on her ovary. I would have thought the doctors would have noticed a pregnancy whilst doing examinations for that.
((Hugs)) to help you get over the shock.

Good Morning from a drenched city. Lots of rain and more expected has my head and sinus' acting up something fierce, but looking forward to a light at the end of this weather and hoping its sun.
Suzie...boy when things go boom in your household they really explode. So sorry that the baby was so unexpected and the news more shocking than enjoyable, but his being here in a healthy state will soon be enjoyed for the blessing he is.You will be roiling with many emotions for a while, but I do hope things settle quickly. My thoughts along the lines Brenda was speaking was that the doctor who performed the exam mistook the fetus for a cyst....SMH. You now must try to calm down and be sure to take care of yourself... things will be what they will be. Know that we care and wish you all nothing but the best...Peace.
Hugs and vibes for all just for the need of them.

Suzy, congratulations! Babies are a blessing. Dana has chosen a hard road for herself, having to put her own goals on hold for now. But she seems to be an excellent mother, and her kids will know lots and lots of love ... another one for grandma to spoil.
Hugs to June ... take care of yourself, please!!!

Several have commented about Dana not knowing she was pregnant for so long. Having been an OB GYN nurse, I saw it was usually a case of denial in the Mom. She did not want to be pregnant, it would interrupt her plans for career or education, or providing for existing children, it would disappoint her parents, it would anger the father, etc. There was usually some very strong reason she did not want to be pregnant, or she did want to be but not to face others' reactions and she did things to hide that pregnancy from others and from herself.
Other times there were medical reasons she did not know. the Mom was obese and the layer of fat hid the pregnancy. Movement of the baby was thought to be 'gas' or spasms of the colon. If she had been told she had a cyst or tumor, she thought the tumor was growing and was afraid to find out, afraid it might be fatal.
There are any number of things that can keep a woman from 'knowing' she is pregnant. If a situation is too difficult for one to handle, the mind can find many ways to cloak it, it is a coping mechanism, it helps the person survive.
Sometimes they know, but can not face the consequences of letting others know. They put off telling for so long that their very putting it off becomes another obstacle in telling. 'I didn't know' is the only reason they can give.
I am not saying all or even any of these are what went on with D. These are just examples of what the body and mind are capable of doing. I hope it gives some insight into what these women are going through.

Reading back on others posts about doctors using the wait and see approach thought I would tell you of my experience. I shout myself a massage once every 3 weeks and my massage therapist mentioned a mole he didn't remember looking so red and asked me to mention it to my doctor which I did last week. Going back next Wednesday to have it cut out, better to be over cautious with these things was my doctors reply.

No time, just have a minute while Tahli eats her weetbix and then we're off to the hospital. Maybe tonight will be better...
Lizzy, can I say I am hugely glad you have regular massages! I hope it turns out to be just an overabundance of caution.. please let us know.
June, watch your back, and have an easy day. Though from what I've heard the worst thing you can do is bed rest.
Dana should be able to go home today. His name is Daniel. He didn't have one at first. MizT, I am going to show your post to Don. He needs to see it.

MizT - you put it so well about the pregnancy!
Whatever happened, I'm happy the little one is healthy.
Suzy - I'm going to say congratulations to Dana and to the grandparents and to Tahli - this little boy, like his sister will very soon become a much-loved member of your family and the circumstances leading up to his birth will soon be forgotten. Enjoy every minute with him, and like Theresa said, Dana is a wonderful mother to Tahli. It will now be a harder road for her, but she's got to spirit to do it!!

My best friend in high school moved in with her boyfriend after high school. She kept going to the hospital with very strong cramps and they kept sending her home saying it was gas cramps. She went to a new doctor ... she was over 7 months pregnant! It does happen.

June.... If the back is just twisted, with no permanent injury, soaking in a hot bath can work wonders. It eases the muscle spasms, and allows the muscles to relax. Try it. It can't hurt.
