Hi All,
I'm back home at last and boy did I put on a show. First of all...thanks for the good wishes and concern....as I've said repeatedly...this is a great family to be a part of. secondly, I'm fine...now there was NO surgery!!!! The gallbladder is still with me. While they were getting me ready , my heart just stopped beating and I had no pulse,,,yes, flat lined just like tv...they had to do cpr to be me back. The doctor said it was touch and go... I say that I was walking in the wrong direction to the hot place and GOD said oh no you don't...it's not time yet , so HE kicked me back to this world. Whatever happened. they broke some ribs and I've had lots of pain from that, but I'm not dead yet!!! Now going to get a shower while I feel up to it and get into bed...I'll be back later when I'm better rested. Peace.

OH MAMA, how frightening for you! I am so sorry you did not get rid of that pesky gall bladder, but so glad you are still with us. Take good care of yourself, till those ribs heal. I know you gave your family a big scare. Please, no more of that, OK? Love you, thinking of you and sending best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Goodness Mama....we all thought that you would probably be on the road to recovery minus the gall bladder by now. Didn't imagine, this would be so life threatening for you. SO PLEASED YOU ARE OK!!!
Not much they can do for the broken ribs apart from strapping it, but now what, with the gall bladder?
What a shock for both you and your family.
Take care Darling. We miss your beautiful posts and look forward to when you are well enough to join us again.Much Love.

So glad they didn't want you up there or down there! Sorry if I made you laugh.
Ribs, you just have to give them time to heal, not that I am telling you anything.
Shame about the gall bladder. My friend gave a plaque that said 'I look to the future... because that's where I'm going to spend the rest of my life'
Luv and very gentle hugs.

Gil's only nephew, David, and his wife Maureen, had a healthy baby girl this morning around 8am. Mother and 6+ lb baby Claire are doing well. This is Gil's sister Sue's first grandchild. What a Thanksgiving this is for them!!!!

I take it that all the North Americans are busy with Thanksgiving stuff, celebrating the time when the Native Americans helped the Plymouth colony survive, and the European settlers thanked their benefactors after the feasting by cheating them out of land, then committing genocide? I celebrate still being alive and able to walk. I refuse to celebrate the traditional Thanksgiving with the Pilgrims. We give thanks for what we want to give thanks for.
I'm on schedule for a 5 pm feast. The table is set. The stuffed turkey is smelling incredible in the oven. The pie is cooling. The cranberry sauce is made. The non-alcoholic bubbly is chilling (3 flavors: pear, blueberry and apple/cranberry). I still need to make the mashed potatoes, gravy and sugar snap peas. Don & Barb are bringing a salad. I'm working at my regular system of frequent breaks, ir I wouldn't be able to do anything.

You are right, Theresa. Right as rain.
Company is leaving now, and everyone has a full tummy. IH didn't notice the tablecloth I used until we were finishing the meal. I used an enormous cow hide, hair on. Brindle with white spots. Then brown leather place mats to protect the hair. It gave the table a really cool, rustic look.

Hi, Everyone! I hope you have had/are having a good day!
Because I didn't have time to read comments last night, all of your birthday wishes are 'on time.' Thank you all so much for the wishes! I didn't have the opportunity to see children or grandchildren in person, but had 'face time' on the computer. Most of my siblings remembered the day, as well as our Thanksgiving today. My birthday doesn't always fall so close to Thanksgiving. We have 9 family birthdays in November, most of them after Nov. 21, so it's a busy month!
Nola, I'm so sorry about your lost posts! I try to remember to save before hitting 'Submit,' but rarely remember to save as I'm typing, so still lose posts. It sounds like you are making a good decision to sell the rental property. Good luck for getting a good price! Sonny is a good boy to eliminate the uninvited mice!
MizT, I hope the meds administered and prescribed by the ER doctor quickly provide relief! I hope your recovery is as quick as the thirsty plants!
Oh my goodness, Mama! What a scare for all who know and love you! (Hopefully your gall bladder was scared into causing no further problems for you!) We are all so thankful that God and the angels weren't ready for you yet and allowed you to remain with us! Love, gentle (and lower case) {{hugs}}, positive thoughts and healing vibes to you as you and your ribs recover from the experience!
Heidi, congratulations to Gil's nephew David and his wife Maureen on the arrival of a healthy baby girl on Thanksgiving!
Heidi, did you get a photo of the cowhide 'tablecloth' and leather placemats?
It's time for me to head to bed. Sending a plentiful supply of prayers, positive thoughts,
, healing vibes and {{{{{HUGS}}}}| for everyone!

It was 35*c yesterday and 16*c today. I had to go and get out a long sleeved shirt!
I will be picking up Laura in the morning. Hope to take her to the city to see the Christmas decorations. I also spent quite some time today getting my cards addressed to that Laura can stamp our address and also put the postage stamps on the card. I have almost 90 for her to do.
Laura will also be able to put up my tree and other decorations. It should be a fun weekend for her.
Enjoy your weekend Suzy. I know it will be tiring, especially as you have been working.

Hi all. Belated Happy Thanksgiving to the topsiders. I am thankful for all of the friends I have made here and even though I don't post as often as I used to, you are all in my thoughts.
Mama, when I spoke to Michella, she did not say what had happened. Only that all is well. I am glad your time with us is not over. We need you for a lot longer. I appreciate your wise words and am glad that I was able to meet you. We are hoping to do a driving trip next summer and are looking into options. I am hoping to head North.
Suzy, Alie's art is amazing. She is really talented.

I am super excited today. I just bought a Kindle. I got the new one. The Kindle Fire HDX. My hubby bought a new dishwasher. He wanted the dishwasher more than I did. I am in the process of setting up my new Kindle and can't wait to get on it. Mitchell asked how excited I was. I told him on a scale of 1-10 (he guessed 12) that I would be a 90

Suzy.... I finally got around to looking at those drawings of Alie's..... and was VERY impressed. Her technique has improved immensely. She seems to concentrate on showing their souls, which is the difference between just drawing and capturing the essence of the model. Her drawing skill is close to equaling her singing ability. Someday she'll realize what a multitalented young lady she is.

Happy Friday here for many...hope things are good where ever you hang your hat.
I'm moving slowly, but still moving. Not really interested in eating much and sleep is usually about two hours at a time...move I do feel some better...it'll take time. Have not read up from the time I was in the hospital but did see that MizT was in the hospital and some one else wasn't well...hope all have improved...I'm happy to share my healing vibes with all. Belayed birthday greetings Julie and Tami, enjoy your Kindle to the max...I do. My daughter didn't say anything to anyone but Mike because my sister was also hospitalized during the same time and we didn't want her to know until she could see that I was okay. We're both healing for now. Pain won't let me go any further so have a great day/night. Peace.

We had another snake on the front porch yesterday.
Greg said it was basking on the hot cement and he is unsure if it was a brown or a tree snake. It could be the green tree snake we had in the palm tree out the back. Because our back fence is like chicken wire,I thought it might not be able to get out of the yard, but we have never seen it since.
Snake sightings on our property is now up to 74.

Suzy...hows it going with Tahli? Full on I suppose.
Renaes baby turned 3yrs the other day. They had a party at gymnastics, where the teacher took all the kids for an hour, playing games and routines on the equipment. It was so hot, that most of the adults stood up on the viewing platform until they couldn't stand it any longer, and then went into the A/c party room. The kids didn't seem to notice as they jumped on trampolines, walked beams, and swung from roman rings. I had to turn away at times, it made me nervous, but the kids had no fear. A twist of the old musical chairs game was so funny. They used hoola-hoops to stand in, it didn't matter how many got into them, but the hoops got smaller and smaller.

Julie...On the 5th of December this year, we have been in Bundaberg at this address, for 20 yrs. Greg worked out that it equates to sighting,3.7 snakes a year. Some we have killed, others have got away.
I absolutely hate snakes, and just started to record them, probably because of my phobia. Greg has trodden on the head of a small one in our driveway, and I have pulled one from under the wire fence line, as I weeded. I have been chased by one also, as I moved the sprinkler.
The average, is probably higher, that get onto your property and we SEE.

Greg just told me, the story is that for every 1 you see, there are about 6 that you dont see.
Being in a rural area, there are cow paddocks, bushland, and wildlife everywhere. Kangaroos are the
norm. I have never seen a koala in the wild here though.

Morning all. Enjoying my coffee and a Saturday off. May do some shopping today but will spend it with the family.
Nola, I don't like snakes either but luckily don't see any. I live in the suburbs but am only a mile or so from the Florida Everglades. I occasionally see turtles. I did once see an alligator on the side of the road.

Nola.... as long as you have mice around, you'll have snakes. Snakes help keep the mouse population down. I wish we had more snakes around here (I see about the same number on average that you see) because I HATE mice, but the dogs go after them, the cats go after them, and the snakes eat the goldfish in my pond. I can't win.

I'm enjoying a relatively quiet day, except that in a few minutes, Don and Barb are coming over and bringing Kola (the pup I gave them). IH says she's one of the most beautiful Collies he's ever laid eyes on. I believe it. She was the pick of the litter.
