everybody in SA5 land. Have had a wonderful lazy morning in bed with the Sunday paper. Have made such a mess of the sudoku in the Age [and it was easier than most..duh...] that I'm going to have to finish it on the computer!!

Oh you lucky lazy blighters!
I was up at 7.30 to get D#3 to an all day thingy that started at 10am, an hour's drive from here. It was raining so hard, I almost felt like pulling up for a while. Nothing like driving in unknown territory in zero visibility! On the way home, there was a 'puddle' on the other side of the road that looked like it could easily swallow a car! Glad it wasn't there when I was on that side of the road 10 minutes earlier. Stormwater drainage obviously isn't working too well.

Hi all. Meant to come back the other day, but fell asleep in front of the boob tube.
Had to shut down again today. Another storm went through. The temp dropped 20 degrees in 1 hour. We were going to cook steaks and taters on the grill, but ended up having a lumberjack breakfast instead.

My vDv, a triple CP and a TOPP!
MizT, sounds like you had a great time. I've never been on a train. There's a small museum up the street from us and have not been there either. The cars need a lot of work (rusty), so have not tempted me enough to go.

OH Gail. Do you have to go back and pick her up?
I know you need the rain in Melbourne but not when you have to drive in it.

Mamacita, I'm sure the reception will be great. You always seem to be on top of things. Not like me, running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.
Hope you had a good time at the jazz fest. We had a Latino festival here. The admission price yesterday was $1., today it was $30!

Gail, hope the rain lets up long enough for you to be able to pick up D#3. Then it can pour again once you're home.

Well, time for me to hit the hay. Tomorrow's a big day. Dog's getting a bath, fixing a crack in the ceiling and unloading a cedar chest so that it can be moved in prep for painting and the new carpet.

Thanks friends. The rain has let up at the moment, and yes, we do have to go and pick her up. On top of that, she has a full-dress rehearsal tonight for the production she is in at the local theatre company and has to have dinner before she gets there. There is a 1 1/2 hour leeway to pick her up and feed her and get her back here to grab her script and costume and then back to the theatre! PHEW! I'm exhausted just typing it!
Also...hubby wants to pick up a pooter part on the way, so we have to leave very soon. We will be on the road for three hours!!!
Oh, and pick her up from the theatre at 8pm.
WAIT for me girls, I'm coming to the jazz festival with you...and I don't even like jazz!!!

Hi all,
thanks to everyone for all my welcomes, just wanted to get that said cos I may not login that often or personally respond and didn't want you all 2 think i was unfriendly! I have a toddler, do i need to say more! I just about manage to pay the bills online and perhaps tackle a sudoku (or two!) before I need to go nod off. I will visit the chat sometime tho, think I need the practice eh, and of course i wasn't put off by everyone's concern for Win, just incredibly lost!
back to to gathering the washing in then, see ya

Oh no! My internet connection is playing up. Twice I've posted and they disappeared into the ether. I suspect it's the laptop keyboard - I'm hitting the wrong key or something....

Bexta - it doesn't get any better when they get older, you end up competing for computer time with grown children....(Not that mine are grown yet)
Mamacita - I would only agree to have a reception here if hubby agreed to do the cooking!
vdv - cheeky!!!

Suzy in our house it did get better accessing the computer when the kids grew up... instead of competing for the pooter we bought them their own
only downside is that it's expensive

Hi Brenda, it's not just Sudoku tonight, but all internet pages. We have a laptop as well as the desktop now (actually replaced an old one) but I'm not happy with it. I'm having trouble with the spacebar, and I really don't like Vista!

Hubby has made me try all the keyboards we have to see if any are quieter than the one I use. Because I am forever 'talking' and getting quicker at it all the time, he says the constant click clacking drives him mad!
Tough, it's all his own fault, he introduced me to sudoku.com.au!!!

Hi Gail, I am usually in another room typing and so it doesn't bother hubby - not tonight though, d1 is using the other computer.
Does your hubby post? Still do puzzles?

Hubby has never played a game of sudoku in his life, and he has never posted on any form of forum!
My introduction is a longish and quite boring story that I have posted before but I am happy to repeat it if you really want to know.
And yes, thanks to said hubby, Toy Elephant is now home, safe and sound.
