Jollyboy, in answer to your question on today's easy...both! Everyone does the puzzle but they also go there to chat with friends from all over the world.

Sounds like you're in England which is Greenwich mean time, which means you're up to 12 hours ahead of half the world and up to 12 hours behind the rest. I'm in Michigan, USA which usually has me 5 hours behind you and 16 hours behind the Sudokuland clock. I wake up and at 8 a.m. my time sudoku tells me it's already "tomorrow."
So what's the difference between vacation and holiday? I know from brit lit that holiday is your word for our vacation, but does the word vacation mean something different in Britain?
