Hi Rob,
Thanks for your warm welcome on my new page. I was acknowledging there and realized that wasn't correct! So, thanks for the snow. In a very short time I'm going to need it around here. I'm leaving some famous steamed Maryland blue crabs for your enjoyment!

rob, sorry to be so slow getting back to you. Thank you for the compliment about my yard. To answer your question about shade plants, we have had good success with Astilbe, Hosta, Helleborus, and for nice flowers Rhododendrun, Hydrangea, bleeding heart and Cyclamen. We also have a fern planter with several different varieties of ferns. I have no idea which of these would do well in your climate. A local nursery might be of more help, or check out this website: http://www.waterwiseplants.utah.gov/default.asp?p=Search&Car t= Remove any spaces that might appear in the address. Best of luck.

To correct a mistake, I shouldn't have included Rhododendrons in the list. They need sun, and they and Hydrangeas can get fairly large. Probably not good choices if you are working with a limited space.

Hi Rob: I popped in to the party but I saw Judy running around with a pointed stick so I high-tailed it out or there fast.

Rob, Happy 31st Anniversary to you and Bruce! I'm sure you've recovered sufficiently from the fabulous Weiner Roast to go out tonight and celebrate well. I'm sending you a huge bouquet of flowers and a split of champagne for a toast. Have a marvellous time enjoying each other's company tonight and again, many congratulations!

Hi, Rob, thanks for dropping in. Have a dram! I confess that I did not know where Utak is, so I dug out my atlas. Now I know, but what is the 'fresh powered snow'? We should have snow every year where I live, but we did not this year. Bit worrying for the Summer water supply.

Oh, Rob, I was hoping your absence had nothing to do with health--I thought perhaps you'd gone off and done something glamourous somewhere, but to learn you were in the hospital ... well, I'm certainly glad you're back with us and I'm dropping off plenty of to cheer you. Wishing you a speedy recovery and sending you lots of

Knew I liked you right away! I'm the same delicate age as you.
Arthur is doing well--last pill is tonight, then I'm supposed to take a urine sample to the vet (can you believe this?) He has to do his business in this plastic pebbly stuff, then I take a syringe and extract the sample from it. Thus far, he's laid down in the litter box and stretched out as if it's his new bed ... there won't be a hair left on my head by the time this is done! We're Salt Lake City/Park City-bound on June 19th, so I'll get the pilot to dip a wing over your place.

Here I am, Rob, having survived our one and hopefully only street sale. Arthur is doing great though I still haven't managed to get him into the 'special' litter box yet ... (lately my life is all about pee-pee!)
We're flying into Salt Lake City for the Rotary Convention, then renting a car to do a little touring, maybe visit a state park. In Park City, we'd like to get some golf in, maybe ride some horses. Any restaurant recommendations? We always love ski towns--Stowe has been a favourite place of ours for years--the people are lively and active, and really care about their surroundings. Our dream is to retire somewhere out west--B.C. or Alberta, if only the prices would stop climbing.
Thanks for the candle and your kind thoughts. I hope you're feeling chipper again. Sending warm blessings to you!

Woo-hoo! Thanks for your restaurant/golf recommendations. We're so looking forward to our Utah visit. Hope we won't see too much devastation from the Sudoku weiner roast.
The last of our treasures were carted off to a church rummage sale, and I'm just now starting to calm down after the street sale. We pocketed a fair chunk of change, and while I met some lovely people, I was appalled at the few (and aren't they the ones who stand out in your mind?) who saw fit to be quite rude then express consternation when we gave it right back at 'em. Sheesh. When it comes time to downsize, we're calling an auctioneer...
Anyway, here's hoping you've bounced back fully from your recent nastiness in the hospital and that Bruce was able to spoil you a little. If anyone deserves it, you're the one! Sending Blessings your way.

OMG, you live in Salt Lake City? I lived there as a child and then went to live in Bountiful City. My father still has me take him to Salt Lake City for his high school reunion. We were there two years ago for his 60th reunion. I drove him around to our old neighborhood.

Hi Rob, I wasn't able to catch you in the chatrooom. What program are you using for trying to shrink the avatars?

I also have a request for lighting a candle, you are a very spiritual person and a friend of mine can use all the postive energy she can get. This person use to be on the site quite a bit and is having some difficult personal problems and dealing with some depression. I told her I would ask people for postitive energy for her. Thank you.

Rob, about your Avatar pictures, I use http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/ When you go there, there's a box labled Create Avatar. Step 1 is to choose a photo. There's an address box and a Browse button just like flickr. Choose your photo the same way. Step 2, set your Avatar size to 50, and Step 3, click the Resize button ... and wait. You should get 3 choices, centered top/left, center, or bottom/right. Pick the one you want and click on Download this picture now and choose Save. You can rename it if you want or switch which folder you save it to. Then in Update Details on the Sudoku site, when you go to Add Avatar, you will have to browse to your saved avatar to submit it. Let me know if this isn't helpful. I haven't figured out how to do the smilies thing, so, I can't help you there.

Hi Rob, I just realized I haven't visited your page before. wow. please forgive me! here's some flowers and bubbly to say hi!

it took me forever to figure out the avatar and how to shrink the pix for the puzzle page. i kept trying to get them square and down to the 50mb size. i haven't quite mastered it, but i can get it done. the avatar came once i figured the shrinking process. the main question is which program do you use to edit your pictures? once you can edit your pictures, they need loaded to flicker - do you have an account there? some groundwork before you get seriously frustrated at all the steps it takes to get this accomplished! but it's fun - don't let it push you over the edge! lol

Rob - Of course I missed you in the chatroom, just the way things are going today . If you find yourself needing a break from the pool (although I can't think of one) I am always around during the day, just keep the site up at work. I check throughout the day, you can even just post you are going into chat & I will meet you there. Take care!

ROB,

e-mail is on the way to you now. I hope you can manage to save the avatars, they are ready to submit. let me know what else you might like, and I can see what I can make. I make avatars and smilies in a print shop program. Do you use one of those? there are a few tricks I am learning that I can share if you do.

ONCE you master the copying and submitting, you can copy from the site, for smilies. lots of members say copy if you like, rosemary is one, Me another, others if you see one you really like ask, they might say YES heheh.

Boy this avatar and smilie thing is adictive, more than the last to post competition

Hey there, Rob! Always a pleasure to have you drop by for a visit. Arthur is currently curled up on my office rug having a peaceful snooze. He's doing wonderfully, so we're fairly confident leaving him with our cat-sitting neighbours while we're in Utah. He's thrilled to have such a fan as you. Thanks for the referral to Miz Tricia--I'll get on her page and bend her ear. Rena has also given me a heads-up about a helpful site, so hopefully my hubby will be able to decipher things, since I'm completely useless! I'm sending you a heap of good blessings and may your days be filled with smiles and love.
