It's soothing for me to read about all the storms and freezes down under as it has been so hot here this summer. I live in the mountain area of CA - about 45 minutes from Lake Tahoe.
I love the Spring, Fall and Winter...not a fan of the summer so much...

It is Humpbacks too that hang around Maui, Hawaii in the winter Nov.-Feb. or so, and migrate to Alaska for the summer. Some of the ones from Alaska, migrate to Mexico instead. We can watch them on their journey down the California coast. Magnificant animals.

I am enjoying the wedding plans, we've had fun doing most of the stuff -except paying, everyone doubles (or triples) their prices when they hear 'wedding'.
I'm going to Egypt 3 weeks after the wedding for a 3 week holiday with 3 other friends (lucky #3) so there's not much downtime between the wedding and my trip -I'm looking forward to both.
I had a great day at Broni's, it's always fun to meet up. Broni's video is a hoot.

My only other thought is, aside from the zoo officials not having adequate security safeguards, why were the parents allowing a seven year old to run around by himself for that long in a strange location?

Hi Grasshopper Linda! Schultz in Today's Hard Sudoku is wearing his car harness because we were actually leaving the lake that day. He used to bust out of the standard harnesses with their silly plastic clips because he's such a big dog ... then we found this, a one-off in the pet store and he's had it ever since. That and a climbing carabena at least have a chance of holding him in his carseat if the worst happened!
