Hi dearie. I pop in briefly every day to do the puzzles and that's about all I have time for right now. School is winding down for the year, I have a daughter whose grades took a major dive so I'm trying to figure out what happened. I'm also frantically trying to get ready for a garage sale. Do you have those over there? Sell all your old junk in your front yard? Anyways, I have 10 years worth of Morgan's clothes and almost 5 years of the boys to get rid of (I've saved everything, ugh). Kinda hurting a bit for finances (not bad, just uncomfortable), so this is a good way to get some money. Just very time consuming to go though everything, label it, price it, set it up, blah, blah, blah. Otherwise all is well. Mother's Day was torturous, as my mom made the plans. That's a story for another day :~) Hope you are well, and I miss our chats.

Hello Angie, Thank you for asking about Harry. He is healing, the top and sides of the toe are healing quickly, the new skin is coming back. The ulcer on the bottom is healing but it will take a long time since it is so deep. We have a nurse that comes to the house everyday to clean, apply medication & change the bandage. Tomorrow he goes back to the doctor to have his toe checked. I will post an update tomorrow night on his progress.
for caring.

Whoa, where did that elegant room come from? Angie you clever girl, you're totally amazing! With all that you do for your four and I know that's got to keep you running just to stay in place, how do you manage to come up with all the incredible designs. You must start this business so you can become rich off your talents!!!

G'day Angie! I stopped by to see your possum & ended up looking at lots of other good pictures, too! Left comments on a bunch of them. Love how you "framed" them so creatively. Do you have any idea how talented you are??? I don't know how you find time to do all that do. Bet you don't sleep much! Glad you enjoyed my YouTube & photos. There sure were lots to look at today!!!!

Angie - thanks for your note. If we'd gotten a tornado warning, we would have taken refuge in the bathroom off the hallway since it's located in the center of the house with no windows. However, since we didn't know about Sunday's tornado, we were just sitting around in our jammies reading the Sunday papers! We didn't even know about it until two hours afterwards when friends from the next town called us! Unless you're right in the tornado's path, you don't even hear it! Plus, the sun was actually shining when it struck. Very unusual!

Hi Angie
Mum is retired and here are my 2 bits:
* If you don't smoke, you can manage, but forget holidays etc. And clothes are the bare minimum.
* Medications are extremely affordable compared to what the rest of us pay, but they can still add up to a prohibitive amount for a pensioner. A friend of my mothers, many years ago, took about 6 different pills. When the gov introduced a $2 charge, she went down to one. It's a lot more than $2 now.
* Rent assistance is available. If you don't rent, you get 'income' assistance.
* Same problems with wait times for medical care as for people with only medicare coverage.
* Mum had some super, not much as she started late in life to contribute, and she put it into her house. Now has to manage on pension, which is hard.
* Mum earns a little money on the side with her paintings. This is how she buys things like clothes and gifts for family.
* Grandchildren need to accept that their grandparents can't buy them the wonderfully expensive gifts they did while working, and be effusively appreciative of what they do get so grandparents don't feel bad. It takes training to get them that way and so feelings are hurt and grandparents can feel like failures.
* It is possible to 'live' on the pension, depending on how you define 'live' in a country town. I'm not sure what it is like in the city where rents etc are so much more expensive.

Angie, Thank you for the well wishes for Kevin getting his MBA. It was a hard decision for him to do a career change & go back to school.
Harry's toe is healing nicely, the new medication is helping the ulcer to fill in quickly. We still have months to go but hopefully not the year it took the first time this happened.

Many sudoku friends from around the world coming to visit me and wishing me a Happy Birthday have overwhelmed me.
My Husband and sons took me out to dinner to a Chinese Restaurant, and on the Sunday, we had a delicious Roast Dinner at MIL’s.

Oh my gosh!!!! I had about 22 messages in my inbox today just from Sudoku friends wishing me a 'Happy Birthday'! Thank you so much for all of your kind thoughts and wishes especially when I haven't been around for so long. It has been a wonderful day and a lovely weekend. Rick and I went away to a romantic chalet at Springbrook with an open fireplace and we went bushwalking etc. I have uploaded a photo of Kiarah and some others onto 'my page'. Photos taken 26th May 2008. Kiarah is just about 18 months old now and still gorgeous hahaha....

Checking in quickly (is there another way lately?). Heard ballet comps are done for a bit. New pics??? Hope all is well with you. Miss the site, though I do manage to get on here once in awhile to do the puzzles and read a couple pages of posts. Summer vacay starts in 3 and a half days. Will have more time then (I HOPE!!)

Hi Angie! What a beautiful family! I love the picture frames. Are those the costumes you've made? Lovely! I wonder, if you have time, would you be able to put WHEEE! on my flying pigs? Please don't feel the need to do it right away if you are busy (and I know you're ALWAYS busy!), anytime is fine. I believe you have my e-mail address, or just plop it on my page and I'll pick it up there!

Well Angie, it sounds like you have taken on another full slate with the next production. Where do you find the time and the energy? Good luck with the props and the costumes for Beauty and the Beast. I'm sure you're finding it challenging. My best to you and your family!

Hi Angie! So sorry to hear about your chest infection. Glad you decided to give in & take some antibiotics. They're okay as long as you don't OVER use. Hope you feel better soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Emily wins the scholarship - you BOTH put in so much time & effort on her ballet.
