OK... blood pressure update.... When I get the epidurals, they monitor my blood pressure closely. When I got there this morning, it was still very high. By the time I was ready to leave, the blood pressure was back to normal. So the elevated pressure was due to pain. They were not unduly concerned at the hospital.
When I have these epidurals, I am not allowed to drive myself home, so IH drives (very scary... he's all over the road). This hospital has an exceptional sleep apnea center, and IH FINALLY checked it out today. I've been telling him for years to go get it checked and he's ignored me. A male friend recently told him to get tested, and he's listening.

Oh... one last thing. I told my Pain Management Doctor about the Trikke. He'd never heard of one, but he thinks it should be great low-impact exercise for me. He's gonna check them out.

Hi eaa - nice to see you around a bit more lately.
Heidi - that's good news about the blood pressure! And, of course, it's typical that men only listen to other men!! Or anyone except their wives. Gotta love 'em!

Dropping in between stuff - Ebob's Year 10 final assembly was great. The kids got to walk across the stage to get their portfolio (the thing with their results in it), there was singing, dancing, speeches, and a photo collection showing them as teeny tinies in Year 7 and biggies in Year 10. What a change!
Now I'm off to take Ally to sing in a retirement home.... then to replace the ridiculous fabric I'm supposed to be making a Frosty head out of - useless stuff!

Hi all. Just had to run down to the hospital to see dad. Mom called and told me he fell. I went to see him and he is doing fine. They were going to send him home tomorrow but will now be keeping him until at least friday, just to make sure he is ok. Good thing he is hard-headed

Heidi, nagging won't work on my father. The joke in my family is "do you want to step outside?" I will tell him tomorrow that my sudoku friends asked if he wants to step outside. Since I don't think he wants to get beat up, he might behave.

Tami...you tell your dad that this little old lady is going to ask him to step outside where I'll have a big baseball bat to soften that hard head if he doesn't start listening to you and Bobbi...Hope he continues to improve too...
It will certainly make your Hanukkah brighter... BTW...love the avatar..Peace

Hi eaa...good to catch you here...always nice to pop in when others who have been mia show up too. Heidi...glad the blood pressure reacted positively when the pain was reduced....always a good thing....and rereading your comment, I see hubby was tested for sleep apnea, not sick....WELLLLLLL....maybe a little of both...sick of hearing about the testing as well as not sleeping well...I have walked in those shoes...in fact, I still am..LOL.

Hi All, love and positive thoughts to all those who need them.
Cyn!!!! Is this the same person who tried to convince me to join the zoo?????
Could you please add my friend Teresa's SIL to the list, she had her bowel removed from cancer but the bag leaked back into her body and it is very touch and go.

Oh, no... IH has not been tested. Yet. He just went in to visit them and learn something about the testing. He first needs to get a referral from his GP (who will probably be annoyed that IH isn't doing it at Malpractice Central, who employs him). IH and I use different doctors. My GP is affiliated with Jewish Hospital, which some of you may have heard of. It's known world wide for it's Cardiac Center (they have done most of the artificial heart work) and for successful hand transplants.

Mama... he sleeps like a baby. But he snores LOUD! So loud that the dogs will growl at him. And his breathing stops for extended periods when he sleeps. I'd also like to see him checked for narcolepsy. He falls asleep at the drop of a hat... even when he's talking about something that interests him! And when he's driving. The only time I ever let him drive my first van, he fell asleep behind the wheel while happily chattering away, crossed the median, and ran head first into another car.... at 50 MPH (80 KPH)... totaling my van. He didn't get a scratch. But he said to the police officer..."I fall asleep behind the wheel all the time! What's wrong with that?" The police officer had to pull me off his throat, I was so mad.

Just popping in for good night wishes! It's great to see you here, eaa, and good to hear that this may be the last shipment of devil meat for the year. Take care and relax!
Heidi, so glad the blood pressure came down as the pain responded to your epidural. Hope tomorrow brings much needed relief!
Broni, please forward our positive thoughts & prayers to Teresa for her SIL and family. May she fully recover!
Sorry not to mention everyone, but I need to get my legs up soon! Good Night, All!

Before going to bed for the night, I need to tell one story that happened today. I bought a lovely Panda marked Betta on eBay. It was supposed to arrive here tomorrow. At 6:30 this morning, as I was leaving for the Hospital, the phone rang. It was our Postmaster (Mike is a love, by the way) telling me that the box containing the fish had just arrived there.... soaking wet. The bag containing the Betta had burst and all the water had leaked out. He didn't know how long ago it had happened. Since I was leaving for the hospital, I asked him to open the box anyway and drop the fish in a glass of water. He told me that there was no way that the fish could be alive.
I told him that Bettas are really tough, and please do it anyway. So he opened the box to find that the fish was still alive! We stopped at the Post Office on the way home from the Hospital and picked him up. You'd never know that he went through a traumatic situation. He's just fine!!!

Broni, my thoughts are with Teresa's SIL. My friend Lesley went through the same thing earlier this year (though her's wasn't cancer and they were able to reverse the colostomy) She very nearly died, but is now home and on the long road to recovery. Hopefully SIL will have the same outcome.

HEIDI, I hope you are still OK, just reading about your chest pain. Can you not TELL ambulance what hospital you want? I know you can here. Be careful and I second Stella's idea, get doc to check you out before it happens again. Good luck o the epidural.
VICI, you are moving in? YEAH, you get new digs for Christmas, wonderful!! I know it has been a long time coming for you, and didn't you say more remodeling of the section you are moving from still to come? BUT you are moving, that is progress.
JULIE, so sorry you are having such a problem with the insurance over pain meds, gee, hope that you have something to take till they straighten it out! Thanks for letting up know what is going on.

Broni, you ask, and I pop in. Lot going on here. I had my hips injected, walking is a LOT easier now, I can do 15 min at a time now with only a tiny bit of discomfort! I had a tummy virus, lost a couple of days from that, not fun. The kind where your back feels like you been beaten with a baseball bat, repeatedly. Recovering from that now.
I visited my sis, and we went out shopping and to lunch, that was fun, I shopped for 6 hours, a record for me. Slowly getting this old bod to not complain when I am doing fun things, or things I need to do. It is work though!
Heidi, glad to see that pain relief brought down the blood pressure. First time I was there for mine, pressure was 180/90, and that is with taking meds! after treatment, it was a nice 120/70. Pain can do a number.

Great seeing you back here, MizT. We've been getting concerned.
Yep, managing the pain can sure help in a lot of ways. I'm delighted that the injections are helping you.
That sounds like a nasty virus. The "baseball bat" kind will really lay you up and knock you down.

It is COLD outside! Right now it's warmed up to 21℉ ( -6.1℃)!!!
And there are a few light flurries coming down.
At least the deep mud has frozen. That cold mud is really hard on the cattle.

The back is very tender still, tho' the pain level is w-a-y down. I'm gonna head back to bed.... and watch a DVD I just got. It's a Bollywood movie: Kambakkht Ishq. It's staring an interesting actor that I really enjoy... Akshay Kumar. He's good looking, can act, can sing, can dance, does comedy, romance and action films, and does all of his own stunts.

Update on my dad:
He was doing well and was supposed to come home today. He fell last night in the hospital. They did a cat scan and found some minor bleeding in his head. They did a second cat scan today. They are not overly concerned, except for his age. They are moving him to a different hospital today so that a neuro surgeon can examine him. They are looking to see if the blood is being absorbed. They don't expect there to be any problems, they are just playing it safe. Probably trying to protect themselves as he fell on their property. Mom told me he tripped on the phone cord.
Mama, this is why I said that it is a good thing he is hard-headed. I will tell him that you are going to take him outside if he doesn't listen to the doctors.

Good early evening everyone, but not yet flinging food. Hubby took me to physical therapy at the new place, so it was evaluation, BUT she also had me doing some therapy. We've been really working hard at home, and it has paid off. Without extra effort, I was able to get both knees past 90*. With some warm-up and her hand encouraging them, we got past 110* bend! Thank you, fellow Sudokuaholics for all your wishes, prayers & encouragement! It really helps!
That leads me to offer continued positive thoughts, vibes and prayers for all those in need! Also, an idea that Heidi's new Betta fish should have a name somehow connected to SA, as he's a real survivor!
