Just had a look at the video from today. What a hoot!! And I put up another photo. Bean I had the violin! (and my daughter's expensive wig which she only wore once)
You have some great photos on your page Suzy. You have reason to be proud of your girls.

June that is absolutely fabulous...LOL...where have I heard that before... violin is visible in the extra photo. No wonder that particular beauty looked familiar... I could just see a touch of grey peeping through otherwise it could have been anyone. I hope you will show me the video when I come to Sydney... I will bring you a video to watch in return. Taken when Lachie was in grade 1. He still hasn't forgiven me for embarrassing him... Each time I watch it I just about wet myself... my mum and I used to sit and watch it and laugh until we cried...

Was up REALLY early today [after getting to bed VERY late...]... drove Lachie into the city to catch the Overland to Adelaide. It was absolutely pouring when he was due to leave. I was back home again before 8. Fell asleep this afternoon and I'm just about to go to bed.

Night all.

Greetings to all the wonderful people at SA9A! I hope all of you are well and looking forward to the holidays!

Here is a bit more update that I promised last week. Hubby brought me home from the rehabilitation hospital last Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 1, after which we both crashed. On Wednesday we tried to get a few things done around the house and pay bills that were nearly overdue, plus tried to set up physical therapy, appointments, plus tried to get my insurance company and doctor's office to get approval for one of the prescribed pain medications. (No luck so far!) We found out that there are 3 places in the house where I can sit and successfully get back to standing: the stools at the kitchen island, the computer chair (on wheels, so not very secure) and the edge of the bed. I had the first appointment/evaluation on Thursday, and found I can only be scheduled one day a week though Dec. Besides trying to do exercises at home, I am supposed to ice both legs multiple times a day. Unfortunately, that's at a chair where I can only sit down or stand up with hubby's help, so I can only do it when he's at home. (Also, when sitting, I'm supposed to have my legs out straight in front of me, so I shouldn't be sitting here at the computer.)

Friday morning we drove 1 1/2 hours to an airport & flew to Texas (about 2 hours). D2 had a big concert on Saturday (including a sonata with a quite famous pianist who won the Cliburn International Piano Competition 12 years ago (held once every 4 year). They received GREAT reviews. We flew home Sunday afternoon/evening. I tried to keep my legs moving throughout the driving, flying & concert to avoid possible blood clots.

Monday morning I was on the phone with my insurance company, another rehabilitation/physical therapy location, and leaving messages with my doctor's office to see if I can get a different prescription for physical therapy and go somewhere where I can get scheduled at least 2 or 3 times a week. We are still trying to work out a pain med. prescription that will be approved.

We will be leaving on Dec. 24 for a family Christmas and New Year celebrations at D1's house in Massachusetts. Jan. 3 we leave for a week at Disney World with the family. (So, I won't be able to get physical therapy during that stretch of time.)

We are hoping to get to the swimming pool and try the exercises in water. Hopefully, that will be a bit less painful, though we aren't sure. This afternoon (Dec. 8 here) I will have my first physical therapy since leaving the hospital, so must get going on my first set of exercises for the day.

Love and hugs to all of you!

I'm baaaaack.
The South Central Rural Telephone Cooperative internet server has been down for the past 20 hours! IH and I were both going frantic. IH got so mad that he started leaving them furious messages. He usually leaves that to me.

Brenda.... suicide has to be the toughest loss that anyone can face. There are too many "What if..?" and "Why?" questions, and too much remorse and pain. Nobody can be prepared for it. I am SO sorry for that girls family and friends. And the poor girl herself must have been in so much emotional pain, more than she could handle. I came very close to suicide myself several times, so I have some idea of what she went through. Poor thing. At least her pain and internal torture is over.

I have lots to do today. I need to get the house and barns well stocked with food for people and critters. My epidural is scheduled for 8 am tomorrow morning. I won't be able to do anything for at least 24 hours afterwards.

G'Day to all of my friends on SA. I've been trying to get other stuff done and limiting my time on the computer. Unfortunately, a few games on Facebook have really sucked me in, so a lot of my time is spent on that. This too shall pass!

Hope all is well with everyone. I'm so glad that I caught Julie's post! It's got to be frustrating dealing with the insurance co so you can get the proper meds and therapy. I hope it works out soon! Glad to see that you are well enough to start travelling around. I've seen how hard that can be.

Need to get back to the ffuts! I must say though, that you guys from Sudoku, both here and the ones who have Facebook, are the most kind, caring and considerate people in the world. You've always been there and it means the world to me. Even my own brothers and sisters, who I thought I was close with, are not as kind, considerate and caring as you guys! Thank you so much!♥

Before I shut down the pooter, I should let you know that I'm feeling better. I had a small scare. I was having chest tightness and pain down my left arm. IH borrowed a blood pressure machine, and mine was the highest it's ever been... 159 over 83. If it hadn't been for the icy roads, I would have gone to the hospital. I won't use an ambulance... here they take you to the hospital in the county north of us. Malpractice Central. I will NOT go there, under ANY conditions. So I just monitored everything, and if the chest continues to give me problems, I was going to go, but it improved.

Okay Heidi, for a smart lady you can be pretty dumb. When is your doctor's appointment? Today right? Even malpractice central has to be better than playing russian roulette with chest pain. Geez Louise.

Stella, I hope Meghan is feeling a bit better and gets through her exams and HOME soon.

Julie, I'm torn between feeling your pain and puffing up for you. What an achievement for D2!! Definitely worth disobeying doc orders to see! Wow. All those other superlatives. I hope your therapy gets sorted out.

Nola, how are Josh and Judy today?

Suzy and Nola. The chest and arm pain is over. Blood pressure is still high, however. Tomorrow morning I have my epidural in a great hospital. If the Doctor thinks it's warranted, I'll have the ER there check me out. Right now I have no transportation.

And Malpractice Central is NOT better. Every friend of mine that's gone in there, even for relatively minor things like a broken arm, has not survived. One thing after another gets botched there.

I am a bit paranoid about that Heidi, my father was 37 when he died of a heart attack and I'm pretty sure he blew off chest pain as 'over' a few times before that.

Hey everyone!
Just a quick fly by as we are in the middle of moving into the addition. It's become more difficult because of the foot of snow outside. So we've had to manuever everything down the hallways.
Brenda - what sad news - hugs to you and yours.
Julie - thanks for the update - so great to have you back.
Oh goodness...I know there was more, but my CRAFTs is back.
Hugs to all those who need it.
Good luck with the epidural tomorrow, Heidi.

And the day continues to act up.......
Tonight is our big Cattlemen's Christmas Party/ Awards Banquet. I just got out of the shower and the phone rang. It was Idiot Husband. He had been delayed in Louisville (he was supposed to go this morning and be back before noon, but he dawdled here for hours)..... of course, it's physically impossible for him to drive home from Louisville, pick me up.... my truck won't start - remember... and make it to the Banquet before everyone has finished eating. So he decided that he'd just go straight to the banquet. At least I found a ride from a friend, so I'm off now.

Good morning all and how nice to find an update from Julie, who I see, despite the recovery process is still her busy self and not letting the grass grow. Go Julie!
Stella - nice to see you here, even though I see you on FB. I know what you mean - these SA people are the best and have jointly and/or individually got me ( and others, I'm sure) through some bad times.
Heidi - I'll just second what the others say about seeing the doctor but I do understand about Malpractice Central - a few of those here in Qld that I could name - and here an ambulance takes you to the closest hospital whether it's your choice or not!
Suzy - did you say how the formal went for Ebob? I just went back and couldn't find it.
Hi to Nola, Vici, Suzanne, Bean, June et al.
My resolve to ditch Easy lasted 12 hours or so - I just posted there earlier. Aarrggghhh!

Not too bad Cyn – physically I am doing ok still very slow, see the surgeon again on Friday and then back to work Monday I hope, as I miss the residents a heap, and they help me through this early December that I loathe so much, but give me a couple of days and I hope to find my Christmas spirit, went to work for a visit yesterday with my Gizmo, well you should have seen some of their faces, it was so good, and all the fussing over me was lovely.
Those people are my mojo for life.........

Hi everyone,
Brenda, my thoughts are you and your friends right now. I know people who have gone through the same thing, and I know it is not easy.
Heidi, take care of yourself. Check up on that chest pain tomorrow. Don't be a stubborn mule, like my father.
Julie, good to see you back and posting.
Don't remember what else I have read, I have too much going on in my head right now.

Take care of your self, Lizzy!
I've seen how dedicated the staff of these residential care homes can be. It's reassuring to know that you (the staff) get as much joy out of it as the residents, like my Mum, do. Mum just loves the staff where she is and they can jolly her up any time she gets low or cranky. xx
