Julie.... You may not have many posts, but they have lots of content.
Good luck with the knees.
I'm glad the tooth died. It's already crowned, so it would have been a nightmare trying to do a root canal on it.

Ouima is doing wonderfully. She and Sadie are still inseparable. There is no question that they knew and loved each other before either arrived here.
Vibes is also doing well. There are few fish hardier than a Plakat Betta. Bettas have rudimentary lungs called labyrinths. They breathe air. They can survive extended periods out of the water as long as they are kept damp. That's why I asked Michael to open the box and put him in a glass of water instead of just asking him to throw the box away.

The computer hung and now I have forgotten what I was saying! Drat!
Lachie is still in Adelaide & sounds like he has a nasty virus. Hope he has the sense to get to a hospital if the asthma gets bad!
Yesterday was exhausting but a lot of fun.
Need to get out to the garden... the rain has made the weeds grow... can't get to the pool filter for thistles and deadly nightshade... I had to show the the meter reader [NEW] where the gas meter was the other day... it is so overgrown around there that he couldn't find it... I haven't been down that side of the house for months... so you all know what I am doing... have a good one everybody

Bean.... it sounds like you're growing a jungle on that side of the house. You need to equip the meter reader with a machete to find his way back there.

Suzy...how was your Birthday or maybe you are still celebrating.

Another very hot day here.I put the thermometer in our pergola area at work which is protected by the building and still in shade under shadecloth, and it still reached 36c which is very rare for us.The humidity wasn't as bad or maybe we are more accustomed to it...not sure.
At home the grass is dead again and I just manage to keep most of the garden and fruit tree alive by watering occasionally.
Fingers crossed that it rains for the farmers who need it the most.

Hi everyone - I hope you are all well...
Suzy - Happy Birthday, I hope you have had a lovely day, with way too much of all your favourite things.......
Gail - I hope Bill is OK, and that the doctors are looking after him...
I went out today for a Christmas lunch, with the girls, we went to Chandon winery in Coldstream,
the menu had a choice of about 5 things on it, and get this they don't have a desert menu, only coffee and cheese platter, I was quite dissapointed at the service, or lack there of, the food was good, but at over $35 for a steak it would wanna be good, the company was fantastic and I did have a nice glass of
Cuvee riche, very nice.

Thank you, one and all.
I have heard from Bill, he is back home, catheterised again. He will speak to the urologist tomorrow and I will know further then, maybe some swelling or a clot post surgery. He sounded in fine spirits, just a little discomfort, which is to be expected.

Oh my God -- guys get ready for it, heres one for the books, I think you all know that I am on a dating site called Oasis, met a guy on there early this year, seemed nice, so we chatted on and off for months, tonight I notice he is online, so thought I would say G'day, the answer back was, no this isn't D--- but this is his wife using his computer, well had no idea what to say, eventually decided to tell her, but here's the good bit she is OK with it, how stupid can some people be......

Nola - your mention of Greg and the Rainbow lorakeets has me filled with warm memories of my afternoon at Junes...she had food that got 2 of them to perch on my fingers and eat from my hand. It was one of my fondest memories of my visit!
For my friends down-under who received their holiday cards - I had a wonderful Cockatoo elf helping me with that project!
For my topside buddies - I'm addressing them today...hope to have them out by early this week.

Lizzy.... YOU WIN!!! I can't top that story. Easily. D--- is using an online dating service, and his WIFE is OK with it??? Maybe you should report him as married to the Dating Service???? I shall try to top or equal your story, though. I consider it a challenge. This happened to a dear friend of mine. She had been married years earlier to a guy who was physically and emotionally abusive. They had 2 daughters together before she finally got a divorce. She had no contact with him for the next 20 years. One of the girls met a good man, and invited her father to the wedding. When my friend Marion showed up, her womanizing ex-husband came up to her eagerly, clasped her arm and said warmly... "Hello, I'm the father of the bride. Who are you, darling?" Marion, straight faced replied..." I'm the mother of the bride!" True story!

Morning all!
I had a wongerful birthday. I did nothing. I didn't have to drive anyone anywhere or get any costumes, uniforms, food or anything ready or organised. I read, I dozed, I ate a yummy dinner with a yummy birthday cake... I asked for a wet and dry sucky thing and I got it. I also got a pair of summer sandles with a heel. As the girls get taller, so do my heels...

Short break there - Ally ran out the door to catch the bus and after she left I had a 'feeling'. She has an excursion at a water park today... I called and sure enough she had forgotten to take a towel and a change of clothes. I arrived at the school at the same time as the bus and didn't even have to get out of the car... KIDS!

Gail, sorry to hear about Bill. It sounds like he isn't quite out of the woods yet so I'm sending vibes, thoughts and wishes...

Tami, I'm glad your Mom was able to have another day to get ready for Bernie coming home. I hope his home environment helps him to get well sooner.

MizT, you are very strong going to a party with all that yummy food and eating your own. The benefits of the diet must be amazing!

RIP Heidi's tooth...

Rolanda, how was the concert?

Julie, I don't think anyone except you expected you to catch up on all the reading! You are amazing!

Liz, that couple sounds incredible! So glad you found out now...

Heidi, what a creep that ex-hubby was. I am so glad Marion got the last laugh there!! I would have loved to have seen his face!

This morning I had to get something out of my truck, and decided to try and start it. To my surprise, it started up immediately! I let it run for a few, then turned it off and went back inside. An hour later I went back out to go to the pharmacy to pick up some meds. The truck refuses to start again.

Hi all, a bit ho hum here this morning.
June, you are so right, this has been my Annus horribilis (horrible year) in many ways.
I was again woken up by an early morning call today, again from Bill, this time to say the nurse from the urology dept had just called to say he is going back in to surgery tomorrow. At this point, we believe it is exploratory to find out what the problem is, but we are a bit in shock. Not what we expected at all...
