No!!!! Not the coffee! I've run out of dog food, bread, milk, Nesquik, just about everything, but never coffee!!!!
Nola, are you sure that's a good idea? Though it does sound like something I would do.

Heidi, yes my mom did use binoculars. She is getting "younger" as she ages. One year, mom and I, went to the circus, then a Billy Joel concert, followed by Paul McCartney. She had a blast. Circus was her Valentines gift, Billy Joel was for her birthday. When I got the McCartney tickets she didn't give me much choice but to take her, so that became her Mother's day gift. Aren't I a wonderful daughter.

I just heard something amusing. IH was talking to one of the Muslim fellows who was busy here over the weekend, and the discussion got around to the availability of Halal foods. He told IH that if he cannot find Halal foods, he buys Kosher food instead. I'm more and more confused about the differences between Muslims and Jews now.

My mom's favorite Englebert song: After the Lovin
So I sing you to sleep after the lovin'
With a song I just wrote yesterday
And I hope you can hear
What the words and the music have to say
It's so hard to explain everything that I'm feelin'
Face to face, I just seem to go dry
But I love you so much
That the sound of your voice can get me high
Thanks for taking me on a one-way trip to the sun
And thanks for turning me into a someone
So I sing you to sleep after the lovin'
I brush back the hair from your eyes
And the love on your face
Is so real that it makes me wanna cry
And I know that my song isn't saying anything new
But after the lovin' I'm still in love with you
So I sing you to sleep after the lovin'
I brush back the hair from your eyes
And the love on your face
Is so real that it makes me wanna cry
And I know that my song isn't saying anything new
But after the lovin' I'm still in love with you
Yes after the lovin' I'm still in love with you
After the lovin' I'm still in love with you

Heidi, if I knew you back then, I would have. It was so long ago I didn't even know my husband. If you look back the the Macy's story, when I had that discussion with Jim, he told me the same thing. The dietary laws are almost identical between Judaism and Muslim. It makes me think, if the religions are so close, why do they have to fight each other??

Tami.. I guess the difference is how you 'worship God' !!!
That goes with all religions..the fundamental diff is whom you are worshipping and the method of the worship!!
and why they 'fight', because each 'religion' thinks they are the right one and everyone else is wrong.
Personally I think it doesn't matter with whom you have belief (I am a Christian), as long as you have belief/faith, surely the how and whom doesn't matter. We should all be tolerant with each other and respect each others faith.

What is really funny, according to my Macy's friend, the "Allah" they pray to is the same "god" Jews and Christians pray to.

Greetings, Sudoku Friends! This will just be a quick "Howdy" from me. I have missed everyone terribly - and was surprised to see that we now have Sudokuaholics 9A. I have tons of reading to catch up on and hope everyone has been well during my time away from the computer. I have not yet checked email, but my hubby says I received many birthday wishes. Thanks to everyone who thought of me and sent wishes, including "Get Well" wishes!
I got home from the rehabilitation hospital yesterday (Tuesday} afternoon. I have stories to tell and explanations for the length of my stay at rehab, but will get to that another time. I am supposed to have my legs up when sitting - but have only 2 chairs in the house that I can get into and out of without help. I can also sit and lie on the bed, so spend some time there during the day. I was told I should only sit about 30 minutes at a time, then need to be up and walking or exercising for about an equal time.
I'm not yet set up with a lap top for when I'm sitting on the bed, but will hopefully ready to try that in a day or two. Tomorrow (Thursday) I will go for outpatient physical therapy, which will probably be scheduled 3 times a week.
I will try to pop in periodically to updates. In the meantime, I hope you all know who often I think of you and wish you all the best health and happiness! Love to all of you!

Afternoon all!
No time to read, I was ripped away from the computer this morning and haven't had a chance to do much else - other than put a couple of videos on FB for family. If you are on fb you can watch them too. I will try to get some photos up here, but that probably won't be until tomorrow at the ealiest...

Back for a minute - welcome back Julie! So good to see you! Hope you get the laptop working soon. The rehab schedule sounds grueling...
I was putting together a CD for the singing organisers and couldn't resist spending a couple of minutes putting some of the photos on here - 6 of them actually! A few of them are especially for Heidi and any other farming buddies....

Good afternoon all - I just read 3 pages so will forget everything.
Julie - thanks for updating us on your progress. The sooner you get the laptop the better - you'll be able to visit us more often.
Rol&a - glad you Mum had a comfy night - hope she's still recovering well and that you are getting a chance for a rest. You must be a wonderful daughter.
Heidi - glad you got your birds, Sounds like the postal service is about as useless as any other organisation, but don't get me started on that, I'm in a bad mood already.
And that's about all I can remember - hello to everyone else - Suzy, Tami, Suzanne, Nola (glad Judy's doing well), Broni, Lizzy (Dizzy, Ditzy, Loopy and Funny), Gail was probably there, maybe Brenda or Bean, Vici was there too ---- oh, where is my memory.

Suzy..... at first glance, I thought that was my tractor. I have a Mahindra with a cab like that, but mine also has a front end loader, and is a little bigger.
Mine has the red fenders, unlike the one in this picture.

I wouldn't call the postal service useless, CynB. They got the birds to me safely, and let me have them while they were closed to the public. They are just creative with their tracking information.

good maEn everyone! Glad to hear those who were ill are recovering!! Hope everyone is well. Vici asked for snow (a couple of pages ago), we're supposed to see some this weekend. You are welcome to it!! I miss Southern California (or Florida) this time of year. Talked to TTT earlier, she rubbed it in about the 80 degree temps in Florida...she'll probably call me Christmas day to brag about the weather (as usual!!)

Suzanne... just think of one thing. In Florida, she will NEVER have a white Christmas. There's something pretty special about that.
I remember about 2 years after we moved here, we had the most beautiful snowfall on Christmas Day. While watching the national news that evening, they actually announced that the only spot in the entire US that had snow on Christmas was...... Magnolia, Kentucky!!!

Hi all -- Have only just got home, had a big day out, met up with Gail, Bean, and Judy for a lovely lunch, and then went past work to give my Carolina a cuddle, and wow I am so glad I did, she was laughing so much, when she saw me, it was priceless. Even the manager came to see what all the fuss was about, she said you can feel the love between you two, well what do you think I burst out crying.

Ally sang again tonight - yes, that's 3 nights in a row. This time it was International Day of the Disabled. It was beautiful! The dance floor was full. I was even invited to dance with one of the guests. Ally is absolutely exhausted. I wonder if she realises she (and her group) sang for the mayor and our Federal Member? Though the mayor shows up everywhere - he's in the photo with John Howard (actor, not politician) doing rabbit ears behind him.

Liz, that sounds just what the Doctor ordered. Lots of laughs
Suzy, although she is tired how wonderful that Ally is able to perform in all these events.
Rolanda, get as many naps as you can. It is a very emotionally tiring time.
My 'friend' has found out that Chemo does not work for her. She now needs to have Ray and the first appointment she could get was 13 January. Far too long to wait. However there has been a cancellation so the good news today(and boy do we need some)is she can start on 17 Dec.
She has been told that the type of cancer she has is very hard to know how to treat.
I have had a busy day doing 'C' cards. I posted all the O/S parcels and have the O/S cards ready to go tomorrow and the local ones just need to be stuck down and the stamps attached. It cost me $100 in stamps and postage today!
