Heidi, I too am very sorry about the lamb.
Seems a bit odd to add, but have a good time at the wedding.
Suzy, yeah, you do have to lighten up. She's 16, the t-shirt is fine. Love the charm bracelet. I still have mine. My stepmother started it for me in my teens.

Something weird is happening here. There is moisture on the ground outside! Not a lot mind you, but it is definitely wet.

We put one coat of the final colour on the walls yesterday. It looks very patchy. Hope the second coat makes it perfect.
Have I ever mentioned just how much I hate painting!

Oh God Gail - what a gorgeous breakfast!!!
You must put up pictures of the color on your walls when you are done.
With all the brekky chatter and pictures between you 2 Dags, I'm afraid my measley swiss cheese sandwich did not do the trick - going back for more!

There is no colour! It is just slightly off-white with a greyish tone and the woodwork will be black! Not my choice but it beats the hot pink she would have had if we had done it years ago!
If you would like to see it, google Taubman's Frosted Ice.

Suzy, let me know when you start reading Twilight. I want to read it also. We can discuss it here when we are done. Don't worry about the t-shirt. Let her make her own choices. Speaking as a rebel, if you tell her no, she will do it behind your back. Trust that you raised her well and she will make the correct choices. Speaking of t-shirts. One of my 10 year old campers came to camp one day wearing a shirt with a picture of a squirrel holding up a pair of acorns. The shirt said, "mine are bigger". I thought it was innappropriate for a boy that young. I would not let my son wear it at any age.

I will pop back in soon. I have a lot of computer work to do for school but I had to visit here first. I have my priorities right. SA before work.

Well Gail - I've been all over the internet (to Taubman's site and back again) and they won't give me up the colour. I'm just gonna take your word on it - but I do like the idea of that tone with the black woodwork - very chic!

It's the top picture, so with those black accessories you can use it to imagine the effect of the room.
She will be adding pink and purple accessories to her room, in the way of picture frames, throw rugs and scatter cushions.

Gail, I would fight against black - shows the dust too well!!! Hubby had some black stuff when we got married and since I moved to his country I got to dust it and dust it and dust it until it was replaced....

Having said that, I think it will look good - very young personish...

And our first coat looked patchy too. Told hubby that must be why you have to do a second.

Tami, I saw a t-shirt just like the one you described in a store here. I remember imagining hubby walking around with the girls with it on and thinking na ah, bad idea.

I feel very old fashioned when I disapprove of stuff like that, then you guys say similar stuff (like Susan sending the boy home from the party and you're comment) and I breathe a sigh of relief.

The biggest problem I have with my girls and clothes is daggy-ness. I've lost count of the number of times I've said something along the lines of 'you just got a whole bunch of new clothes and you want to wear that faded, nasty thing?' I have been known to make them change if we are going out somewhere.

Suzy... I don't think it gas anything to do with dagginess. Favorite clothes are well broken in and comfy, otherwise they wouldn't be favorites.

Hello friends!
Gail, I think that room will look great - just one thought though, if she gets sick of the black will it be very hard to paint over?
Heidi, so sorry about your little lamb, that's really sad. Hope you enjoyed the wedding. (Have given up on the TOPP race - no chance to catch you! Go Heidi!)
The ant saga - last night we laid down that sweet, sticky poison that they seem to love. Definitely less ants around - I think we're winning! (Stay tuned for the next exciting episode!)

Lots of good news with small babies now home, family moved back near home, some dampness near Gail's etc.
Half hour there would have been half hour back again. No fun in bad weather Heidi.
Suzy I am quite conservative. One daughter was a rebel but then she only wanted to wear black.

Just looked and it will be 5 1/2 weeks till I have the BBQ for keith and Lynne. Looking at all the jobs that need doing before then. Think I will have to spend less time on here.

Hi SA7.
Well as you know this afternoon we are going to hubbies sisters place and tonight Kim and Luke are bringing Kira over.
She is finally out of the hospital and at home as from today.
Now what you would think should be a happy family time is going to be anything but.
I will just explain who is who.
Kim's mother is Cheryle, Cheryle's mother is Myrtle.
Myrtle has not yet seen Kira, she would not visit the hospital.
Kim's partner is named Luke. He lives with Kim.
He is the father of the baby.
Now none of the family like Luke and I am not supposed to either !!!
Anyhow Kim has just sent me a text to say tonight she is announcing they have got engaged.
This will not thrill any of them.
Even my hubby thinks like they do.
I refuse to be caught up in this crap, and talk to Luke as I would to anyone.
I have that pic I took of Kim and Luke and Kira at the hospital and I have printed a photo out and put in a frame for them and made a card on the computer.
I also have the cute little bootees I knitted to give to Kira.
As I said what should be a happy time will be very strained.

Judy, there will never be any changing of it in my lifetime at this house! She actually wants to have a black feature wall as well, the window wall. I don't mind the look, we did it in my son's room (back when he lived at home). We have found the graffiti cover-up works quite well over solid block colours, sort of like a super thick undercoat, almost this putty-like.

Now Cheryle has decided not to tell her own Mother that they are coming over tonight with Kira.
As Myrtle would not visit the hospital they have not invited her for tea.
This afternoon is a family get together for Myrtles husband Ed who has just turned 86. Myrtle is 85.
The whole thing is just ridiculous in my point of view and I shall continue to be me.
Thank you for listening.

You have the right attitude Viv. I also do not like to be dictated too in respect of who I like and who I don't. I am old enough and ugly enough to make up my own mind.
Wish them all the very best of luck from someone who cares.

Good for you, Viv. I'm glad that you will help them celebrate their happiness. Luke needs to know that there is at least one good, loving person in this family he's joining. Kira, too, needs a loving environment.
