Hubby won't be home until late, though his instructor doesn't seem to like staying past 8pm so the supposed 9pm finish doesn't happen very often. It means he is home by about 9.30 most weeks these days.

As you said yesterday, having visitors makes you get things done. I have wanted more cupboards in the laundry for several years, even had the PowerPoint moved. Today I have done all the measurements so will go and order them tomorrow. I might find the laundry bench and floor if I get that done!

Good Night Sudokuland. Our snow has all melted, kitties got to go outside for a while. It is getting very cold next 3 nights, around 23 (-5C) and that is cold for us.
Rolanda, welcome home, hope you enjoyed your weekend.
June, happy for you getting the new cupboards for your laundry.
Suzy, sounds like a busy afternoon with the girls.
CynB, do you dislike grocery shopping as much as I do? Not a favorite thing to do.
Broni, take the pain pills, and hope you recover from the extraction soon.
Judy, funny about daughter being conditioned before birth to like a show hehehe
Heidi, how many of your nine are you donating to eaa?
Nite all, see you on the flip side.

Well, I go away for a month and you've all talked yourselves onto SA8.
Hello to everyone and I hope there have been no major dramas while I've been away. I know you've had dramas Heidi, I was reading about your ice storm while I was in New York, it must have been very difficult but I hope things are back to normal now.

We still have a LOT of clean up work. There are still branches down all over, the eaves for the roof have to be replaced, and 2 barn roofs still have to be repaired. Otherwise, we're coping.

MizT.... I'll donate half of mine to eaa, just to get her back. I miss having another trigger happy farmer around. (You'd have to have read our PM's to understand all that, methinks)

Hello all - back from shopping - MizT, I can tolerate grocery shopping only if alone and I can move at my OWN pace!
Welcome back, Rolanda - enjoy your family gathering. I agree about daylight saving - absolutely no use for it here in Qld. But we get severe pressure from the southern states who don't understand Qld's climate etc. We've had 2 referendums, both returning a resounding NO but still pressured from elsewhere to do it, and still treated like backwoods rednecks because we don't want it!!

Hubby and I do the shopping together, it's our 'outing'! We generally only go once a fortnight, but that has been quite disrupted for the last couple of months due to one thing or another.
I will be so pleased to be able to get back into some form of routine, at the moment with all these fire danger alerts, we have felt like we are just existing, not really living.

Cheers Rena, just toss them gently though. Knowing you they'd be a full-on throw!
Cyn, we have a severe weather warning for tomorrow. The winds are expected to reach speeds of up to 80k/hr, so they are very concerned about the fires that are still going, that it could breach the containment lines.
We got a mobile message today from the Vic police, warning of the conditions. Because the trees have been stressed due to the drought, they fear a lot will fall onto roads. If this is compounded with a new fire and smoke etc, we will have another situation like Black Saturday.

You know, when you get older, you lose the ability to count - or that's my excuse.
Must fling food soon - since I still have the air-con going, I might do rack of lamb - can't stand the oven going if the weather is too hot.

Cyn if I had smilies I'd ask to steal your village idiot one... I love it!
Rena, I'll have a snow ball just so I can throw it at my kids. They'd love it.
Hi Kate - welcome back!
MizT, I'd get all my groceries home delivered if I could. The problem is I'd need a delivery every day because I'd keep forgetting something..
Not here, cooking dinner. Can't you tell?

Hubby just called, they are having a fire drill at TAFE. At least he thinks it's a fire drill, there is a real fire engine there, but no smoke. Hope he gets to go back to class. It's a long way to go to just get sent home again.

We had a very different combination tonight! I saw some nice looking green prawns the other day so we started with garlic prawns and then had a steak sandwich! But we enjoyed it and not much cooking!

Surf and Turf June - not so very different!
Ebob just told me an interesting story about the bus. A year 7 boy came up to her and asked if he could sit in the empty seat beside her. As she was moving her bag he said 'If you don't let me sit there I'll tell everyone you're from number 10.' Number 10 is the legal brothel in town. Ebob just looked at him and said she was going to let him sit there until he said that, but now she wasn't. The things boys will say to shock these days!
