There is a meat borek in the freezer - I'm wondering if Lachie will eat it or if it is too spicy. They are YUM!!! I do need to go out for petrol - usually cheapest on a Tuesday - trying to decide whether to put everything off until tomorrow...

I am not very good at reading comments and remembering to respond. I think I better type as I read.
Hi, MizTricia, Ruby, Heidi, Susan, Bean, Tami the Troublemaker, Suzy, Gail, Broni and Rolanda!
Tami, I am so sorry to hear about the vandalism to your car. What an awful feeling! At least none of you was in the car and it wasn't a car-jacking! I hope your insurance will take care of the window replacements!
Thank you for safety advice, Susan, Suzy and MizT, and others I may have missed.
Good luck and excellent memories to those taking final exams (Susan's son & Rolanda's sons, I think)!
I have learned that horses are very social animals and horses and probably cows cannot walk down stairs.
Broni, will we bet to see pictures of the new bedroom suite?
I have now visited Broni's and MizT's pages to see their hottie pictures. Very nice, ladies!

Hi Julie, how are you?
Bedroom suite will be delivered on Saturday, catching up with BIL for his birthday the other week and he is going to Tassie for that C word and this is the only time free to see him. Guess I will put him to work helping me shift everything around. Pics will follow.

Hello, Rolanda, Bean and Broni!
Pleasant dreams Tami, Heidi, MizT and Ruby!
YES, Bean, I have caught up on my reading.
It's interesting that your petrol is usually cheapest on Tuesday. Ours goes up and down willy-nilly. In fact, some days it changes prices a few times. We are finally seeing prices come down somewhat. Has that happened yet in Oz?
Rolanda, you are SO organized - even as you were helping your MIL with packing & moving. You are a role model for all of us.
Now I think I am caught up on this page - but probably you all have continued to post as I read & typed.

it is a Turkish sort of substitute for Calzone or pizza...in this case it is made with phillo pastry and encases layers of savoury meat and spices. Often sold as 'canoe' shaped with the filling almost totally enclosed...the one in my freezer is about 12inches round and and about 1.25 inches high..cut into wedges/strips like a pie

This is compliments of Wikipedia. There are pictures, too. It looks & sounds yummy!
Round burek (filled with ground meat)
Cheese and potato-filled bourekas
Serbian rolled burek ("pitice" or "pužići")Burek (also börek, boereg, and other variants on the name) is a type of baked or fried filled pastry, popular in some countries around the Mediterranian Sea, the Slavic cuisines, throughout the Balkans and the former Ottoman Empire. They are made of a thin flaky dough known as phyllo dough (or yufka dough), and are filled with salty cheese (often feta), minced meat, potatoes or other vegetables. Burek may be prepared in a large pan and cut into portions after baking, or as individual pastries. The top of the Burek is often sprinkled with sesame seeds.

By the way, I know you all don't have accents. Well, maybe those of you from the north have a little accent, but we couldn't tell whether you sound like hillbilly Aussies or city Aussies. Accent has nothing to do with why I wanted to hear your voices, anyway.

Lowest fuel price today in Melbourne was 110.9 c per litre, highest 136.9 c per litre, cheapest neara where I live is 115.5c. This is a lot cheaper than it was a few weeks ago.

Tami...get angry then let it go, at least you are all safe..hope they catch them. When are people going to be responsible for their own actions.
OK, sorry, off my soapbox now (sure someone gave me a smilie for that)

I actually bought mine frozen for when it was CNO [cooks night off]. It is always handy to have if you want something to have with drinks. I particularly love the cheese and spinach one...it is very like a spanokipita which I can make but haven't done for ages. Must make a borek and if it works I will certainly post the recipe
