I'm working but it's recess. Heidi, I'd never heard your chocolate story before. Hilarious in hindsight, terrifying at the time. Did you report the truck? He would have had a lot of explaining to do when he got to his destination - his load would have been light...
It is still pouring rain here! It's supposed to ease tomorrow but still rain until Thursday. WE got 160mm yesterday or nearly 6 and a half inches.

I didn't look at your link, just read the name, but I believe it. Fortunately, I've never searched for a hotel online. I did look at flight prices online (those various Price-Line type super saver sites) before going to Florida last Thanksgiving. I ended up going directly to the airport and getting better seats (First class) directly from the airline for the same best price I could find online. That leads me to believe that being a Mac user did put me in a higher price range search than others. I booked far in advance, too.

I never saw the tags on that tanker truck. It was moving fast as it passed me, it was raining, and I was already covered in chocolate before it's tags swung into view. At no point in the incident was I terrified, though. Paranoid, yes. Kind of like ''am I on Candid Camera?'', but the weirdness factor was too strong for it to be scary.

Great idea about the RV - have always imagined myself and 2 dogs travelling around and stopping wherever I feel like it. My dream. Back to work and back to reality....

Great TOPP, Cyn!
Hooray! Look how many people have found us, including Vicki. So sorry the weather wasn't so great for your vacation! Great news for your hubby!
Heidi, what an amazing chocolate story!
Suzy, I also use a MAC and saw the Clark Howard story. I believe it, too. We also have a PC, and have occasionally found different air fares depending on which computer we're using. I just thought the difference was because a couple of days separated the searches.
Midge, I agree with you and Heidi. An RV sounds like a practical alternative solution. Hopefully, you can find a good price (NOT searching with your Mac, Heidi). RV dealers in this area have a LOT of RVs on their lots. Perhaps the economy will be on your side, Heidi!
Midge, I wish your dream could come true for you! It sounds like a great idea!

Heidi, it wasn't just for hotels that the price was higher, and the reason one place gave was that people with macs have more money...

Oh Cyn, have to laugh out loud before I turn the page!
Many moons ago in Vic, we pulled up at a set of lights next to a truck full of cows, I was driving and Hubby with his window down got a full load of cow poop through the window, hehe. Hope the Hall Monitor has a sense of humour?

Well if she is anything like our dogs you will need strength just to hold her back on walks. One of ours (Indi, the rescue dog)pulls like a locomotive.
Suzy, I'll have to do an experiment with prices quoted on the Mac and PC. Daughter uses a MAC.
We have booked another short break away. This time going north to York for 1 night then up to Seahouses for another night followed by a couple of nights with my brother and his wife in there new home in Dipton (near where I was born). Hopefully will get to see some other members of the family too.

I leave for my dental appointment in an hour, then stop on the way home to pay the oral surgeon (surgery #3 is next week, but they give you a 5% discount for paying in full a week in advance). The RV dealer is only 2 blocks from there. I did look at their website and they have several smaller RV's like I want that can sleep up to 6 people.... and all for the same price I paid for my truck 14 years ago, and less!!! It sounds do-able. I also figure that I can let friends that I trust use the RV when I don't need it.
I feel so proud of myself that I have to boast a little. Sorry. I'm not boasting about my actual good deed, but the chain reaction that it set off. There's a very nice, hard working guy locally who's had some serious problems. He lost his job, lost his car, lost his home and his family got split up by social services. He's married with 3 sweet kids. He had a possibility of a good job, but no way to get to it. So a couple of weeks ago, I picked him up and took him on a tour of honest car dealerships. We found a very nice extended cab pick-up that can hold him, his wife and 3 kids safely, and carry all of his tools (he's a skilled mechanic), so I bought it for him and paid for registration and insurance. Yesterday, he came over here and thanked me again, and told me how it changed his life. Everything has suddenly started going right for him. The jerk who caused most of his troubles by making false claims about him to the police and others, is finally off his back for good - legally. He got his dream job with John Deere, He just found a new place for his family to live.... together again... and they sign the papers today. He was on cloud nine. Last night at the Lions Club meeting, everybody was talking about how delighted they were that he's doing SO much better. It was mentioned that everything changed for him when ''someone'' gave him that truck, but nobody knows who that was. IH doesn't know, and I kept my mouth shut. But I'm glowing inside.

You have every reason to glow Heidi. 'It is always better to give than to receive'. If only more people would realise the meaning of that saying.
Got up because my shoulders were aching. A couple of panadol and I will go back to bed shortly.
It was raining yesterday so no bowls. I went and saw 'The Great Gatsby'. A bit glitzy. I did enjoy the 1920's costumes. I also recognised a few of the scenes.
It was Belinda's birthday. She lives a bit far away to take her out to dinner so hope to do something over the school holidays. Hard to realise she is 47.

Greetings friends. I am so happy that o many have found their way to SA11. If I had thought for a moment that so many pages on SA10 was keeping folks away, I would have moved us earlier. OK everyone, when SA11 gets to 500, remind me, time to move on.
I have an appointment with Shannon today, 'twoish' she said. Some problem with my insurance and the invoice on my power chair. I do hope she can get to the bottom of this, get it cleared up for me, I have been worried since i got the letter Saturday. Of course things like this arrive on Saturday, when nothing can be done till Monday. Cross fingers today will clear this matter.
Heidi, what a great idea, an RV as a 'guest house on wheels' as well as for travel. I like that idea. Let me know when you have it, and are taking reservations hehehe. WONDERFUL story about the young family and how a hand up instead of a hand out can make such a difference for them. It was such a happy ending.
JUNE, I do hope you and Belinda can find time to celebrate her birthday over school holidays. It makes a birthday last longer that way. I am still extending mine, girls promise something will be coming in the mail, just later.
Brenda, your little holiday sounds mighty big and wonderful to me! Hope you enjoy it to the fullest and many members of your family arrive at your brothers to greet you.
SUZY I had heard about the difference in prices for a mac, and also depending on which browser you use on your PC. they keep up with demographics and more upscale users of a browser push the prices up for all using it. Is anything honest and above board any more???
Broni, OUCH, Bella might have been the one hurting physically, but that Vet bill sure hurt your wallet! Hope all is well now.
JULIE, glad you got here a bit earlier and time to read and post. You did it again, though, lovely recap of what SA is ding, not much about Julie. You are staying very busy, must be a lot that would make good reading about Julie. We are interested in what you are doing.
HI MIDGE, another post with little about what you are doing, but being at work does give you a good reason. Both you girls, come back with a bit about what you are up to these days, please??
Greetings to Rolanda and CynB. Congrats on a very nice first TOPPS for SA11.
OK, I shall post this in hopes it all fits a page, more to follow. Hugs.

Yesterday I ordered a swim suit, my gift from daughter, she is sending a check to pay it. Sister EDNA says this is one of a few suits that will last in the chlorine pool at Lakeshore. Her current one is a year old, and she tries to go 2 or 3 days a week. It is from Hanes, it covers what should be covered, is chlorine resistant, does not fade or stretch out of shape. The lining goes fore the suit, it stretches and begins to hang out from suit, I figure I can take needle and thread to it when that happens. Half her exercise class wears this suit, it comes in 3 closely related styles, and about 5 colors. I was so excited about ordering it, sent off my order before looking at all the website. The suit was on sale, about 33% savings. There was also a Buy One, Get One 50% off on everything except swimwear. So after ordering, I looked around. I found the cutest summer T's, with screen prints on vibrant colors, just what I had been looking for and not found. In my size, and very good reviews on them (do you read reviews before ordering online? I always do) Only thing I was unhappy with was the shipping cost, it was a bit high for one item on the swim suit. They seem to be one of those sites that go by cost of item, not weight, for figuring shipping costs. So I phoned the help line and asked if these shirts could be added to the suit I had ordered, in hopes of getting lower shipping for shirts. NOPE, it had been more than 45 minutes. It seems that if I had ordered by phone I would have had longer to add to order. Well, shirts were such a good buy and just what I wanted, I told the young lady I would just complete the online order and get them. She said, 'If you order here by phone, I can give you free shipping on this order, so you do not have to pay two shipping fees on same day.' Just what I wanted to accomplish, yeah! I now have 2 shirts on the way to me for less than I would have paid for one similar shirt locally and no shipping. I am a happy camper.
Yesterday, I went to Lakeshore via bus again. It was a grey overcast day, with a 30% chance of thunderstorms. Well, we got all 30% with thunder and that means OUT OF THE POOL.
Luckily we had been in for about an hour. I was thinking of getting out soon and taking a nice long shower and taking my time getting dressed. By time I dried off enough to sit in my chair, and got to locker room, there was a line for showers. I was cold sitting in there wet, so just found a bench seat and dried off and dressed, I could take a shower when I got home. That meant we had over 45 minutes waiting for bus to pick us up. I was still cold, discovered I was right under an AC vent, so I went outside. The clouds were gone by then, sun shining, nice breeze off the storms still keeping things pleasant temp, really enjoyed the day outside. AND it does not matter how fast the storm goes away, pool is closed for at least 30 minuets after the LAST thunder or lightning seen, it was not opened again even when we left. Good

Good thing I took a book, a bottle of iced tea, and had 2 quarters for crackers from the machine. Do you get hungry after a swim? I always do. Seems some of my friends do also. I passed the crackers around and several joined me in a tiny snack
OK, someone kick me off here. I need to eat, then get myself up to laundry room, I keep putting off doing my laundry.

OK.... I am a baaaaaad girl. I'm buying a bigger RV than I had planned to. I couldn't rent anything... every RV they had is booked all through the summer. They had several used ones on site for sale. The one I chose is a 31 ft. Motor home that's nearly new. Only 9000 miles on it. If you promise not to look at the price, here's the actual vehicle... http://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2007-Gulf-Stream-YELLOWSTONE-8314-Y-110226891
It sleeps 5 and has everything I wanted, including a tow hitch for my horse trailer. I'm never going to have to rent a hotel room again, unless I go to Australia.

Heidi, when will you take delivery of the RV?
Matter with power chair is cleared up, was a typo in model number of chair that caused insurance to say chair had not been pre-approved. They will resubmit with correct numbers. Also, now I have a zero balance, yeah. Before I got the chair, Shannon had said she could get help with my co pay, get it reduced. She did, they are taking what I paid day of delivery as my co pay, yeah. Shannon is an amazing person!
Now I am going to look at Heidi's new RV. Buying a previously owned one is a very good move.
Hugs with extras.

O.k. - now you guys make me turn totally green - MizT with her swimming (I even dream of swimming in the sea again!) and Heidi with her RV. It looks wonderful Heidi - I could live in one of those quite happily. Are you going to try it out soon? My brother is doing the 'grey nomad' bit with his caravan and landcruiser - not enjoying it as much as he should as his partner has to do all of the driving until he can get his licence back next year(he was a naughty boy) and she crunches the gears - good for his blood pressure haha. It's fun having a brother and sister to tease - they both rang me this moring and sang to me - just love it!

Today my neighbour called in with my CAR KEYS!!! They had fallen from my pocket onto a kitchen chair. As I still had the house keys I had not noticed. That has saved me about $300 in replacing the keys and the remote for the car.
I have now put them on a very strong key ring.
Also my Niagara Thermo Cyclopad has arrived so I have spent some time being massaged (while reading a book). It was expensive so I do hope it gets rid of a lot of niggling aches and pains.
Tonight we are doing a lantern tour of a local cemetery. Mainly on firm pathways as we have a had a lot of rain and it is very WET underfoot. I have got out the boots and socks I bought when we went to the snow two years ago.

Great news june - it is worrying who could have keys when you can't find them. Yes - it is my birthday (not that I celebrate too much anymore). I think I am just happy to wake up each morning these days - 2 yrs longer than the Drs thought possible so I am very lucky. We are going to a trivia night at a local pub - unfortunately 2 of my sons are ill - 1 with the flu and the other with pneumonia. If tonight turns out well, we will start going each week until our shows are once again back on t.v. (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead). We get together once a week to have a meal and watch them as my hubby won't have them on at home. He stays at home and enjoys the peace.
