Cyn, loved your bumped into Guy Sebastian story! I told Alie it was just as well I didn't see him because I would have bugged him about the daughter he had to meet...
Viv, I love that you are still meeting the old boy for coffee and crosswords..
June, every time I hear that you are spending time with Laura I get a little smile. Kids can be exhausting, but it is so good that you get to see her.
Well the decluttering is actually making my house worse! I keep telling myself that it's only the interim state and it will get better, but...

Well done Suzy.. You have managed something I can't do and I haven't had a stroke. I get varnish everywhere using my left hand, which is one of the reasons I don't bother.
Cyn, hope Col gets to the bottom of the heart thing and that it doesn't mean he has to give up his driving job, even though it is tough on both of you when he has to do long shifts it pays the bills.
Hope everything goes well getting the RV Heidi.
The weather here at the moment is glorious if a little hot, it got up to 30c yesterday. My yrdnual is out on the line to dry which hasn't happened many times this year. The only problem we have is with the drain in the kitchen which at times doesn't drain properly. We have had a couple of mornings (in the last month or so) when the kitchen has been flooded overnight when the water softener has refreshed but the drain hasn't worked. At least it was clean water and made me wash the kitchen floor

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.
Suzy, congrats on the nail polish. That is an accomplishment. I have a hard time and I did not have a stroke.
Cyn, hope all is well with Colin. Will be keeping him in my thoughts. Also glad that in-laws will stay together. That is important.
Have a few errands to run today but I will see you all later.

The horse trailer is at the dealership. The Equine Vet will be here in 3 hours to do an ultrasound on Serenade to check for ovulation, as well as to make out her health papers for the trip. We're getting close. And I'm getting nervous. I hope everything goes according to plan. I just wish I could find my cell phone.

Greetings friends, I am here but not hitting on all cylinders today. Not sure what is wrong but I am sure it too will pass. I have done a Heidi, slept the morning away.
The flower that went missing has not returned. One of the residents, who did not go down at lunch time to pick up her lunch, found it gone when she went down at supper time. I really do not like people who take things that are not theirs. If it were left up to me, I would put a camera in that kitchen, as other things have disappeared from there, like coffee, dishtowels, other things donated to the kitchen use. But they did not ask me.
Was it Viv or Cyn with the in-laws finding a place. It is back a page and I would loose this post if I went back. Whomever, I am glad the in-laws now have a place together, where they can stay as their care needs increase. I know that is a relief for you.
Heidi, hope the vet finds everything as it should be and you get papers for Sere. When did you want to leave on your trip? where oh where is your cell phone? Have you tried calling it from the house phone? Only works if it is nearby and the battery is not flat, but that is how I find mine on occasion.
TAMI, thanks for the coffee. that seems to be the only thing that tastes good today. Well, I did have a peach. When I went to have tests done last week, I found a farmer selling Chilton County peaches from his own farm, and another who had tomatoes he had picked that morning. Farmer with the tomatoes told me his peaches were not big enough yet and sent me to the peach one. I do like buying direct from these old farmers who are now retired from the day job they had to have for years cause not enough money in truck farming any more. Now, it is extra cash income to go with his pension, and once a farmer, forever a farmer. Both the peaches and the tomatoes were excellent, I am really enjoying them.
BTW, the neurologist who ran the nerve conduction test said it was normal, no evidence of pinched nerves. He had no suggestion as why the hands go to sleep, numb. They are still doing it, at least once and usually several times a night. Back to my regular doc to see if we can find an answer. OH, and after I had the squish test, I got a letter telling me I was over due for my test hehehe. I guess one department does not talk to the other in a timely fashion, but it is good they do remind me.
SUZY, congratulations on painting your nails. I do not do a good job left handed, and I do a very good job of chipping polish first day I have it on, so I go bare nails. Just clean the tips very well, and buff them, they look presentable. I too would like to know what color you chose.
Brenda, congrats on hanging out yrdnual, I do miss being able to do that. I have started washing out my camisoles and some shirts. I hate doing laundry upstairs so much, anything to reduce the number of times I have to go. It makes me hurt, reason I dislike it so much. I have thought of getting a human powered machi

I have run over once again. Lots of words for not doing anything hehehe.
I have thought of getting a human powered machine, you sit on counter, fill with hot water and detergent and turn the handle. I do not need it for washing, I do that nicely in the basin, but I need it for spinning the water out. Hands object to having to wring water. I also want an additional shower curtain rod, and put it over center of tub, so things I hang can drip into tub, and not onto floor. I put down one of those water absorbing shammy cloths now to catch the drip on the floor side. I turn on a portable fan to blow the clothes and they dry much more quickly.
Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

I was looking at the weather channel's predictions for Ocala. Wet but not windy for my entire stay. I can live with that. My friends in Ocala have been updated as to when we arrive, and we're ironing out details, such as their gated community only allows RVs to stay a single night. After that, I'll drive the RV out of the gated community and either park it at the horse farm to sleep there near my horses (first choice) or just park at a mall across the street from the gated community. That one isn't as safe as I'd like.

After mowing the lawn around IH's office this arvo, in high heat and humidity, I crashed. My legs and back were killing me. I didn't wake up again until 3 am and realized that I needed to feed and water the birds. At least the rest and pain meds helped the pain. I need to mow around the house tomorrow, if the rain doesn't start up again as predicted. I also need to get the tow ball to the RV so they can hook the trailer up for me before I pick them up later in the day (fingers crossed).

Brenda, bugger about your drain... I think I'd rather have a dirty kitchen floor...
Heidi, sending horsey fertile thoughts and hopes that you have a productive visit to Florida, or Serenade does anyway...to lost cell phones... if the battery is flat and I lose mine, it's lost forever. I prank it at least once a day. Wishing you fine weather for your trip. I think you'd call the polish colour plum or something like that. It doesn't have a name on the bottle. It is Avon though Viv!
MizT, hopefully there is still time for the flowers to return. Word needs to spread a little further maybe. Would one of those human powered machines be hard on you? An experiment for your hands: I was told to wear a hand brace that kept my wrists from bending to reduce the going to sleep thingy. There is a bent metal strip going up the palm. What about a sign in the kitchen saying a security camera has been installed. Sometimes the bargain shops even have fake ones for not much money. I thought about suggesting you ask if they would install a clothes line for residents, but if stuff is going missing, that might not be such a good idea.
Viv, if you are going up 68 steps you are doing well!!
Re painting my nails. I haven't done it since my first stroke. I got into the habit of just chopping them off and filing them. It was harder to do my right hand and I tend to hold the file still with my left hand and move my right fingers. This time my nails had managed to grow really long. We had a wood delivery and I helped unload. I figured that when I broke a couple of nails doing that, I'd just chop off all the rest, but none broke. I decided to shape them and paint them, planning on asking Alie for help with my left hand. I tried it first though and it worked!! So I got a feel good moment.

SUZY, I asked the neurologist about a brace, he said since there is no evidence of a pinched nerve, then it would be useless. I am just getting accustomed to them going to sleep and waking me. As for the clothes line, one, there is no room, and two, it would be considered an eyesore. three, not sure if it would be used if we had it. Laundry rooms are one on second floor, and one on floor, a long way to lug wet clothes down and outside. Many of our residents have to have help with laundry, it must be done and the helper out as fast as possible. So although it seems a good idea, it would not go over at all. Here, they do not even want a mop put out on a balcony to dry, so everyone uses the Swiffer throw away pads for cleaning floors, except for the house cleaners, they have a place in a closet for hanging wet mops to dry overnight. You must remember, there are 145 apartments here on a small tract of land, and everything being uniform and neat is a necessity or else it soon looks like a junk yard. I do like the sign about a camera being installed though, smart idea!
HI BRONI, thinking of you right back!!
HEIDI, I am glad that pain meds and the long rest helped the back and legs. I also hope the rain holds off until you get the grass cut. Lawnmower is not air conditioned alike your big tractor is, I can understand how hot it can get driving one. Good luck finding the cell phone.
VIV, ouch on the splinters in your fingers. Do you know the glue trice for removing splinters? Must get them out or fingers will really be sore.
Heidi, these gated community rules can be very restrictive, but like here, they are believed necessary to keep the place from looking cluttered and junky. How far is the horse farm from the residence of your friends? I am surprised they do not live on their horse farm.
I must go out today for a few things. I am almost out of half and half for my coffee, low on coffee too, out of milk, need fruit, and it is time to buy another phone card, a once monthly thing. I hate shopping but gotta go. I have not been out in over a week, it is about time.
Hugs to each of you with extras, till later.

MizT.... we're talking about different sets of people. I'm taking Sere to Gypsy Gold Farm to be bred to the Thompson's stallion Cushti Bok. While in Ocala, we will also be visiting friends and former neighbors, the Trombleys. The Thompsons live on their horse farm.
We've had a glitch in the plans. The Trombleys had a change of schedule due to family problems, and won't be free to visit until Sunday. So we can either park the RV at the farm, if they will let us, or go to an RV campground a few miles away, for only $34 a night. There's a pool there for the kids. I think we can entertain ourselves for a couple of days. I haven't told my friend yet, since I just found out. If she backs out on me after all this, I may strangle her. She's mainly going to Ocala to visit the Trombleys. I did have a serious talk with the male member of the couple about the dog. ( It used to belong to them when they lived here, but he was too big and wild to take with them. My friend now has him, but she got the idea that they wanted him back, and wants to take him with us.) They REALLY don't want him back, and can't have him in that community since he has no manners and jumps on everyone. He also has a tendency to bite. Hard. Living in a retirement community, he'd be a disaster. So I'll have to break that news to my friend as well. She's actually closer friends with the Trombleys than I am.

Today keeps getting better and better.... (we really need a sarcasm font) ... I just heard from the RV people. They're working on the RV right now, and will NOT be finished today. Hopefully by tomorrow. I need to spend Thursday loading it up for people and horses, so we can leave in the very early morning hours on Friday. We're cutting it close. Very close.

Hi All,
Just checking in to say I'm here and accounted for. The only excitement around here for now is Jazz getting out w/o being on his leash. I had gone to the store, and my granddaughter said he ran into the garage just as I drove up and opened it. She hadn't noticed he was out there until I started to shout. He scared me and I was afraid he'd get hit by a car..he isn't a fan of my car so ran away instead of coming to me. I was upset, but he just wanted to go for a walk, so she took him and all is calm again...Thankfully! DOGS!
Heidi...sorry for all of the distractions, but it's better to have them out of your way once you get on the road....and I'm sure you will be able to keep to your departure timetable...relax if you can so that you will be ready physically. Safe travel.
Read, but most has slipped my mind for the moment. I'll just send healing wishes to all in need, and a hope that good vibes will keep everyone in ship shape for any endeavors that may present themselves. Peace all.

Hello all. Another very humid day here. It's almost quarter after 6:00 and the 'feels-like' temp is 37C. I feel drained. The A/C is a window one and all the cats are in that one room. I have a feeling I'm going to have a lot of company when I go to bed tonight.
Fingers crossed, Heidi.
The wild blackberries are coming on strong right now. I got about 2 cups worth yesterday and there's at least that much now. I just don't have the energy to pick them ... maybe tomorrow. A friend posted a recipe for berry jam on TOS which includes your favourite berries, chia seeds and honey ... and nothing else. Hope to try it perhaps on the weekend.
Off to get a few things done and then get to bed early. Take care all.

Another big day today. I got my hair cut and streaked, blonde streaks. I figured it was time some of the money I was spending was spent on me. And not medical stuff, really on me. As usual I won't know if I like it until tomorrow after I've washed it myself.
Afterwards I followed through on a promise to Dana and took her and Tahli to the kids playland. The one where I didn't meet Guy, who according to Dana is building a house down here. Tahli had a ball! Unfortunately she seems to be heading in bully direction. They had those little plastic cars kids can sit in and drive around under foot power. A little boy was sitting in one and Tahli wanted it. She stood next to the car holding the door giving him a death stare! It didn't work, so hopefully she's learning that bullying is not the way to go. Dana told her off, but...
My mother used to tell a story about my brother telling off one of the dogs and pointing at it while he told it what a bad dog it was. His finger was bent. If you can picture that you can picture Dana telling off Tahli.

Heidi, Pandora is beautiful! Isn't it typical that plans change on us. It's not like you're going 5 minutes down the road either. One of the reasons I always remember to look for my cell phone before it's flat is that I use it pretty much exclusively now. I never come close to using up the allowance and even local calls cost on the landline so... I've been tempted to get rid of the lanline altogether but I still have friends who prefer to use it.
I saw something on TOS yesterday describing punctuation we should use and there was a sarcasm symbol. Even if I could remember it, it's not the kind of symbol you find on your keyboard.
MizT, the neurologist I saw in the states over my hands said that there are occasional negative results to the tests when all of the symptoms suggest otherwise and in those cases intervention is often successful.
Mamacita, I'm glad Jazz is safe and home.
Theresa, I hope there is a break in your hot weather soon.

I have vet appointment for Frasier at 10:30 this morning. When I got up he was limping on 3 legs and keeping his left front up in the air. I hope to get his weight checked too to see if he has gained any - he has not been vomiting near as much as before and he was not scheduled to go back to have his liver checked until September. My SIL (former SIL???) will be driving me to the vet.
Gotta run and find the carrier, catch the cat, and so on. Take care.

Just got home from the vet and they can find nothing wrong with Frasier. Nothing broken, no bite or scratch. So almost $80.00 later and I am home with him ... the only instructions are to keep an eye on him. He was walking at the vet's office with barely a limp. When I got home he came out of the carrier and started walking on 3 legs again. What a little dickens!!!!! They gave him today's pill so that I don't have to fight with him, and gave me two things to potentially help giving him the meds. One is called a 'pill pocket' where you put the pill in the end of a soft treat and seal it closed with your fingers. The other is like a little syringe/gun. You put a bit of water in it, put the pill at the end, and then shoot the pill into the mouth past the bump at the back of the tongue. We shall see tomorrow I guess.
We are under a severe thunderstorm watch for this afternoon. Right now it is still very humid.
It took me about 15 minutes to catch Frasier this morning. The furniture in the living room is moved around because of my efforts in trying to catch him, so I guess I should go straighten that out first.

When that front hit, it went from dead calm to high winds instantly, the rain was horizontal, and contained hail! I'm not sure if that was straight line winds or if there was a small tornado there. It passed in a couple of minutes.
