Hi Everyone,
Happy fourth to all celebrating and make it a safe and fun day.
I think I'm going nuts and many of you would agree...after asking you all for Skype addies and email addies...I failed not only to use them but to acknowledge receiving them...well guess why...I just found them...Duh!!!! Never thought of checking my message box on here. I found them because I was searching the site to try and remember how to change my avatar for the holiday...and lo and behold...here were all of these messages sitting there waiting for me...So thank you all for sending them and I will soon be updating my Skype list and relearning how to use it...lol.
Getting ready to go to a BBQ as soon as I can get up and get myself ready...this is a lazy day and I'm having trouble getting started..smiles. I made a great new dessert to take and can't wait until the others taste it and let me know if they like it. I got the recipe from the other site...a lady at my church always made this and I love it, but hope mine turned out as well...it looks good. Angel got to lick the spoon and said it was good...it's called a strawberry salad, and is made with cream cheese, sugar, cool whip(a type of whip cream)pretzels, butter and I added pineapple, and jello....Hmmm...yummy!
Heidi, glad to here you are enjoying the pain and hope you continue to feel good until the next time. Suzy..hope you got my email...the 'r' word I was using is why I had so much trouble posting here...so now that I know, I will no longer use it..
Okay folks...Enjoy all that you can while you can...and I'm getting ready to do just that...Peace!♥

Ah Nuts...Heidi left the spot open for something wise and I blew it unless learning one is a dummy is wise...I may have nailed it...but just in case, I will offer this as a way of looking at things..
What is said aloud by anyone can be interpreted in different ways by any who hear it, and think it means something entirely different from what the speaker means to say...so be careful to say what you mean and mean what you say. Peace.

Heidi, I found blue slacks, red knit shirt and long sleeve white on white blouse to wear open as a jacket, a big blue beaded ball on a chain for jewelry. For back of my chair, I had this red white and blue star block I had pieced and added 3 red white and blue boarders, for a wall hanging. It fit back of the seat nicely, I was red white and blue coming and going hehehe.
I am just back from my BBQ party, food was very good, tables nicely decorated Red white and blue. Lunch was catered by a local BBQ restaurant, nephew of one of our residents own it, I hope we got a good discount cause of that hehehe. I was hoping for some of thier famous key lime pie, but nope, we got a HUGE chocolate dipped chocolate chip cookie. They had BBQ sauce on each table, I took the leftovers home with me from our table, will be good on some chicken I have to cook.
It has been light showers here, it is cool but damp outside. I am told I should be able to see fireworks from my window, hope so.
Gonna post this part fore I turn the page, or would loose it. More to come. . .

Mama, enjoy your BBQ party, hope your food is as good as ours was. Now the strawberry salad sounds yummy. AND I hope you have tater salad, there was none at out lunch,
I just might have to make some tater salad when I cook that chicken.
TAMI, you always take brownies, and I think you have said it is usually by request, right? What do you do to brownies that yours are so popular?
I think with this rain, I feel a nap coming on. I had a hard time sleeping last night, just hurt too much. Not sure if a hold over from my very busy Tuesday, or if from this rain coming through, but whatever, I was not a happy camper last night. maybe a nap today will make it all better
Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Back from the party, because my back said that it was time to come home and rest before overdoing it. I took marinaded lamb kebobs, and they were a success. I nicely made up a bunch for IH to take to his party, too. He'd better appreciate me!
..... Now to go take a nap.

A 'Christmas in July' dinner tonight. That means I do not have to cook. It is now a bit of a tradition. it means we can eat and enjoy the typical English winter Christmas food without the heat of summer.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.
June, enjoy the 'Christmas' dinner. It sounds like a nice idea.

Tami, found message and replied, and thank you.
Yes, Heidi, I too would be excited if I had an RV coming and a trip planned. I am so glad you are able to take care of your back this time. You want it doing it's best for your trip.
JUNE, enjoy your Christmas Dinner. It makes good sense to have the heavy winter type foods when you are having winter. What is your favorite food that will be served at the dinner?
I have some ffuts to get done today, not a lot but I should get to it and get it done.
OH, I could not see the fireworks from here last night, bummer. I could HEAR the big booms when they sent up the shells, and i could see the glow on the clouds, but there were buildings and trees in the way. Perhaps if I were higher in the building it would work, but not here. I did see it on TV but that was a big letdown. People who live here said we could see it, people lied hehehe.
SUZY, it is 10:48 am July 5 here in Alabama.

Afternoon here from Pa.'s east coast, sunny and VERY hot!!! We are expected to have tempts at 90+ for almost two weeks straight, with high humidity and of course sporadic thunderstorms during that period...in other words, typical July weather. Sure glad to have central air conditioning and can stay comfy.
The bbq was great fun yesterday and we had so much good food. Yes, Tricia, 'tater' salad was included and it was just delish, as were the chicken, burgers, ribs, garden salad, bake beans, greens, pasta salad, corn on the cob, rolls and all kinds of desserts. My dessert was well received, but I've had better...need to make it a few more times before I'll be satisfied I guess.
We had to travel through several small towns to get to my niece's house so on the way home, there were many doing their fireworks shows and we got to enjoy many beautiful displays all the way home.
This was Angel's first experience close up and boy was she excited. Sorry you couldn't have been in the car with us Tricia...you would have gotten a great view, as well as the sounds of the day...some day perhaps. All in all, a great day ,good food, good people and good travel...great celebration!
Heidi, hope the RV is there by now and you are having fun getting acquainted...enjoy. Glad you're are finally taking it a bit easy.. I do want you to have a great trip.
June hope the Christmas Dinner is one of the best yet. Enjoy.
Okay folks, hugs, good vibes and shoulders are all available to any who need or want their use...love is always on the table ... Have a great weekend and stay safe if traveling. Peace.

Thanks Heidi, yes, I had wondered what your avatar was.
I went out for a stroll, ride, bit of a walk about without the walking this afternoon. I was waiting for pain meds to work, looking for some distraction. I went up to the park, found a nice place to sit for a while, until a bird got very upset at me being there. I looked around thinking she might have a nest nearby, did not see it, but she went about her business after I got about 10 feet away. Over on the other side of the park, I saw the silhouette of a rather large bird perched on top of one of the taller buildings. I thought at first it was a statue, till it turned it's head. Not sure what it was but bigger than the songbirds, more like size of a hawk or eagle. Wish I had a pair of binoculars with me.
It was rather cool here too, almost wished I had long sleeves. Very windy, black clouds south of us, but we never got rain. Enjoyed my outing a lot, so glad it was cool enough to be out and about cannot believe this was July. I saw on TV weather, today in Alabama, in many areas the Highs for the day were a record low, if that makes sense. 73 for a high? We are lucky in July if it gets that cool for a low for the day.

The wire needed replacing in my front security? screen door. I got the door off, replaced the wire but I have the door back up but it will not close. Ken will not be home till after dark and possibly out most of tomorrow. he cannot say much as he almost never gets around to doing those jobs around the house. Actually I think the screw holes have got loose and I probably just need a slightly bigger screw, which I cannot find the one I want!
Lovely sunny day. Trying to get lots of jobs done but back here now, just resting my back!

Morning all,
Lots of talk of food today. It's making me hungry. Almost dinner time here. We're having breakfast for dinner - num num num.
I got my glasses yesterday - and a free pair of multifocals from the same price range! Of course I have to wait for those to come in...
I got thrown up on yesterday too. Poor little Tahli wasn't very well and fell asleep on me. She woke up a few times for a few seconds of crying then went back to sleep. I think that's what she wanted to do immediately after throwing up too as she protested very loudly when we did horrible things like take her clothes off (and mine) and put her in the bath instead of on a nice, comfy lap.

This will probably mean more to the Aussies...
Tahli was invited to a party today at Bounce N Slide (a party place with ball pits, slides etc etc). The thing was that the kids had to pay $10 to go. Dana objected for philosophical reasons and didn't go (couldn't have anyway with Tahli sick and everything). Tonight she sent me a copy of a photo taken at the party. OH HEIDI, good luck on getting the health papers you need for Serenade, will Pandora go under her Mom's health papers? I hope all goes well with getting the papers in time. Our rain started last night, a steady light rain ever since. I went to bed at 8:30 PM with the achies, least uncomfortable place I could find. It was a long uncomfortable night. I did get some pain relief around midnight and slept about 5 hours fore up again.
For some reason, I woke at 7 am thinking, there is NO WAY I can go to Lakeshore today, just not up to it. I was wondering just how I could let someone know I would not be going without having to dress and go downstairs, when I came to the computer. Being smarter than I am, the computer told me it was SATURDAY, not Monday and Lakeshore day. I am glad it told me before I phoned someone and made a complete fool of myself hehehe.
Suzy, I did not know you had a home for advanced aged chooks. How many do you have now? Poor Little Tahli, of course she did not want a bath while feeling so poorly. I hope whatever she had is not contagious, does not go through the family.
My spell check is not Aussie, it does not recognize chooks, and of course not the dear grand-baby's name. hehehe.
VIV, your walk was better than mine. I would love to walk along the beach, or better, find a beach with a boardwalk and ride along the beach in my power chair. I know just where such is, if it has not been blown away by hurricanes, but about 5 or 6 hour drive away, unfortunately.
I do love the beach, the waves, the salt air, could sit and watch for hours.
June, you got a lot done replacing the wire, I am assuming you mean the screening? Getting the door to hang right is not easy, especially alone. I hope you can get help to finish it off correctly. You are braver than I am, making this attempt.
I remember last night, there was something I wanted to share here. OH, just remembered. When I went through the day room on way to back patio, I was stopped by Loraine. She was asking if I knew anything about the small pot of confetti petunias that were out by the drive. They disappeared. I know they were there 2 days previous, I had watered them. Everyone around the table went on to say that things often 'take legs and walk away, never to be seen again'. I know just after my watering them, I had a conversation with M, our OCD resident, telling her that the bamboo poles there were not trash, but for use when we needed them to stake plants. She said she would move them to the patio in a spot where she keeps the broom, the rake and other tools. So I asked her if she had seen the flowers, and would she please look out for them as she goes about the building cleaning. She sees more than most residents see, and on occasion things find their way to her apartment. Perhaps if these flowers did, she will return them, or she might find them where someone else has moved them. I do hope they reappear.
Earlier this year, we lost

Earlier this year, we lost a ceramic frog from the garden, it had belonged to a resident's mother, many years ago, and had resided peacefully in the garden for over 15 years. After we asked everyone about it, it miraculously reappeared and is living once again peacefully in our garden. Hope for the same for Loraine's pot of confetti petunias.
Dull, grey, wet, cool, not a good day for out and about. I think I will curl up under a throw with a good book today. I am reading 'one Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest for book club, almost finished now.
Speaking of reading, I am thinking about buying myself an electronic book reader. Any advise? I know i want one I can read even in sunlight, my phone needs deep shade fore it works outside. I want to be able to download books from public library, and Joy tells me any one will have ability to do that. What else should I look for?
OK, enough for today, and probably too much. I will leave lots of hugs for everyone with extras. till Later.

Afternoon All,
Hot, dry and very sunny, here in beautiful Pa....weather guessers look as if they hit the nail on the head this time.
June, You remind me of myself fixing doors and things. Sully never could get the hang of it and I had learned from my Mom. Always would try before calling out for help unless it was electronics...then I was lost.
Heidi...keeping fingers crossed that the papers get ready in time.
Viv, no apologies necessary...Angel is short for Angelique, my great grand daughter. Her mom and she have been staying with me since I came home from the hospital last year. It was to care for me a first...now it's because they have no money to get a place of their own...jobs are still hard to come by and I end up being caught in the middle...love em, but they do cramp my style and my pocketbook...but they do help as much as possible, so while it's not the best of situations, it is what it is...we are family and that is what families do.
For you readers out there..just finished two great books by Barbara Kingsolver, The Bean Trees and Pigs in Heaven...absolutely superb...hated to have them end kind of books. She is a beautiful writer and I highly recommend them. She also wrote The Poisonwood Bible and Prodigal Summer, as well as some I have yet to read...all are great. Tricia, I love my Kindle and it can be easily read in the dark at night in the bed as well as in the sun when I'm sitting outside on a sunny day with equal ease. The print is able to be enlarged to one's eye comfort and is light in weight. It shuts down by itself if left on and holds a charge for a long time...and the price is not too dear. I have a cover for it to keep it from getting scratched and to protect it from when it falls, which it has and no problems..lots of pretty good free books are available as well as bargain priced jewels every day and they have a library system...not too sure how it works ...check out amazon and read up on it. I hear the nook is good too, but can only speak about the Kindle. Hope that helps.
Take care all...Peace.

Good afternoon everyone. Don't have coffee but how about some lemonade?? We got up early and went to ZooMiami. They were having a special, $5 admission (usually $15.95). We got there just as they opened and walked the entire zoo. There were other specials going on. We won tickets to a Marlins game for next Saturday. Also, Blue Bell was there giving out samples of ice cream, single scoop cups. We each got three samples. It was a nice day but I am tired.

Tricia, I don't have an ereader, yet. I have used my friend's Kindle and it works well. It has been suggested to me to get the Kindle Paperwhite. It has an easier to read screen. There is also a tablet version, the Kindle Fire, but that might have more than you need.
